Ive never rated any business before but I just have to on this one although its been 7 months already since I had a terrible experience from this place. I didnt want to rate one star because it doesnt even deserve it but it is a required field. I went to Jagged Edge to get my hair because all other places I called didnt have an open appointment. The minute I saw this place, I knew it wasnt my kind of salon. The facade gave me the idea that this was for those punk and gothic individuals. I stepped in and almost stepped back out because the interior smelled like cigarette smoke. But I had to get my hair done that day for an event the next day. The receptionist gave me this skinny, tall gay guy who was dressed like a bum. The moment he held my hair, I could already tell that he wasnt very experienced. So I changed my mind about getting my hair done and told him that I just wanted to get bangs instead and showed him a picture of how exactly I wanted it to look like. At least if he screwed up with my hair, it wouldnt be the entire head. Then he started cutting my bangs. I knew he wasnt doing it right because I always get my bangs cut every month, and he did it differently from how the other haircutters did it. Fastforward, he finished doing it and I was frustrated with the result. My bangs looked like that of a 4-year old instead of looking stylish. After doing his job, he didnt even bother wipe off the hair that fell on my face so I did it myself but couldnt get them all off. I am at least happy that I decided not get my full head of hair done by this amateur. I went ahead and paid the charge at the receptionist. The blonde receptionist was on the phone so I had to wait. Not intentionally listening, I heard that she was on a personal chit-chat, not a business-related conversation. She didnt even bother pause from that phone talk for a sec and tell me to wait. She just went on talking as if she didnt see me standing in front waiting for her. What can be more rude than that? Finally, after about 8 minutes, she was done talking and told me how much I was charged. Even if someone gave me $50 dollars to go back to this place, I wouldnt do it. I dont recommend it especially to those women who have a classy and feminine personality. But if youre the type who likes tattoo, grafitti, dark-eyelinered men and women, crazy mohawks and crazy hair colors, then this place is for you.

What is the first thing you would like to avoid when you have made an appointment with a nice fancy salon? Any guesses? " The wait" My appointment was at 3:15 and I was there at 3:10. The front desk told me that your stylist is finishing up and it will take her few minutes. I said "Sure". I waited for 30 minutes and my stylist walked past me 3-4 times without apologizing that she is running late. I waited another 10 minutes (total of 40 minutes), and asked front desk, if Im getting a hair cut today or not. They again mentioned that she is finishing up. In the end it took me total of 45 minutes of wait time to get a 30 minute simple haircut. I paid extra $6 for parking outside, missed my meetings that were scheduled at 4.45 PM and end up getting a normal hair-cut that I can get at supercuts or great clips. Next day, my wife had an appointment with the same stylist. Id already shared this story with her in advance, so she was kinda prepared. Her appointment was at 4.00 PM and guess what the front desk told my wife? Any guesses? "She is running a little late". She waited 20 minutes and then the stylist finished the last customer and instead of calling my wife, she invited this another customer. My wife got a little upset and asked what is this service? The stylist told her that she has do a little clean-up on that customer and it wont take more than 10 minutes. I understand that sometimes you are running behind. But at least you should train your stylist how to respect your customers time and how to engage with customers even if you are running late. I might not go to this place again and not recommend to my friends as the only thing I dont like is keeping people waiting when they have a schedule appointment.

So, a couple of my friends recommended Array Salon, and since Id been wanting to get a trim and get some fringe, I thought Id give it a try. Worst. Mistake. Ever. My friend recommended Lexi, but since she was completely booked and I wanted a cut that day they put me in for Vincent. I brought a picture with me of Reese Witherspoon, cute fringe, modern fun layers, nothing super complicated. He barely consulted with me about my hair, and literally didnt talk to me the entire time he cut my hair except to ask me about the length of my bangs, AFTER he had cut it, and when he had cut first major cut to my fringe he cut it too short to begin with! You always cut long first then go to the right length if youre not sure! And then my "favorite" was his shaping up the bangs... so where before they were all one length, they are now long on top and shorter underneath, by about half an inch. I hate my fringe, and when I told him I wasnt happy with it, his response was "well, what do you want me to do about it". So I go to check out, and when they asked me about it, and I explained how much I hated it (I was in tears at that point, I had never cried about a haircut in my life), they brought the manager over to try to fix it up. She did the best she could but honestly theres not much to be done but wait it out. She is honestly the only reason I even paid before leaving. I hate my hair now, and lucky me, I have a wedding to go to tomorrow. For all I know the rest of the people who work here are awesome, but Vincent is TERRIBLE, seriously, avoid him, hes awful, I dont even know what hes doing cutting hair.

I have had two experiences with the hair stylists at this salon. During my time in the chair I enjoyed great suggestions and conversation. I also really enjoyed the resulting hair style of such talented hair stylists. The management and the secretary at this salon are terrible. After I left the second time I was checking the activity on the gift card and noticed I was overcharged. I called back and asked if I could have the money I was overcharged back. Instead of being polite and apologizing for my inconvenience after I explained my frustration the secretary said "do not disrespect me" which annoyed me because my statement was showing she overcharged me. I then requested to speak to the manager but when I spoke to her I didnt receive an apology. The manager requested I contact the gift card company to see if there is a charge taken out automatically in case I choose to tip on the card. I called and got everything straightened out with the gift card company. A couple days later I called the manager back (at her request) to let her know what happened. I told the manager I was very upset about the secretarys demeanor toward me and I would like an apology. The manager acted like my request wasnt ever spoken. I will never go back to this place again because I feel like I went out of my way to keep the manager informed of what I was doing to make sure everything was set right. She did not care. The only time she perked up was when I said I was going to write a review about my terrible experience.
