I visited the Fantastic Sams location on Rural and Guadalupe yesterday morning. I have been to that location and it always has been a pleasant experience. Since my last visit to this specific location, I believe your staff has changed. I normally use the Fantastic Sams in Mesa. My visit yesterday was beyond disappointing. We have a wedding coming up, and my 18 month old son needed a haircut. My visit started with Debbie calling my son a GIRL, (even though his hair was not that long and definitely did not look like a Girl) and she argued with us for about 30 seconds, making sure her opinion was accounted for. I let that go, because I had lot on my mind. Now keep in mind, my son is 18 months old, a boy, busy, and a child. When we sat down for our haircut, he was sitting on my lap. She put the cloth thing around me but not him. Then in the first 10 seconds of the haircut, she goes "I dont think he is going to let me cut his hair, we are only going to cut his bangs", that is when I had to say, "Um, I dont think so, we are going to finish this haircut". Moving forward, throughout the haircut, she kept wanting to discontinue the haircut and I kept having to tell her otherwise. So naturally, he was covered with hair -- face and all, he of course, was fidgeting , because for one he is a kid, and two he had hair in his clothes and his face.... and she kept huffing and copping an attitude. My mother, who was with me at the moment waiting to get a haircut herself, went upfront and grabbed my son a lollipop, which kept him busy for a while. Now you would think Debbie would find a way to talk to my son to distract him or maybe find a way to distract him, but NO, she chose to give us attitude instead. My son now, has a missing piece of hair on the back of his head, but you know, I am not even that concerned about that, It was the CUSTOMER SERVICE, which was beyond despicable. After the haircut, we were waiting to pay, Debbie made sure she came all the way to the front counter to let the clerk know that we did not pay yet. When I let the clerk/stylist that cut my mothers hair who was checking us out know, about our experience, she says "If I was in Debbies place I would have done the same". Let me assure you, my son was fidgety and of course did not want to be sitting in one spot, but I was holding him, and what kid at that age wants to sit down for a haircut. While my Mother was getting her washed, the stylist asked her 4 times, if she wanted her eyebrows waxed, when my mother clearly told her she was not interested, she kept "But it would look so much better". I mean Seriously?? What is she saying, is my mother looking bad now? Now the Question I have for you is "Why do you advertise that you cut Childrens Hair, when the staff is clearly not trained in the area?" Now when I walked in, if they told me that they are not able to cut my sons hair, I would have happily gone elsewhere. No one should have to deal with Bullshit service like this. Please contact me if you have any questions, but I figured someone should know, so you dont lose anymore of your clientele. You have a lot of competition out there, with this economy I would grab any clientele I have. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Worst haircut experience Ive ever had. I showed the stylist 4 photos that I liked and told him I needed recommendations because I wasnt really sure what to do with my hair. They were busy and the stylist was clearly in a rush to get me through. He did a quick a-line cut and then asked me what to do next. I was really hoping that the "professional" would offer some advice. Instead, he asked the lady across the way (owners daughter apparently) for recommendations. She said "she needs to know what she wants" and the entire salon was watching avidly. I was so embarrassed that I paid for my crappy cut and left in tears. Do not go to this salon if you expect a professional experience.

@ another highly recommended ($$$$) salon in Mesa, I had my hair lightened a year ago. Over the course of 6 months, despite hi quality ($$$$) products and tlc, my hair fried & began to terribly break off. I couldnt run my fingers thru it. It was a ponytail or clip every day. Then I stopped in here and asked, "help". My hair has been in the road to recovery with deep conditionings/trims. Ive been a cust since moving to Tempe in 2011 and have always had great service. My daughter and 3-year-old grandson are both happy as well.

Frequent employee turnover. OK for a bargain priced haircut. Recently brought my one and three year old boys to get haircuts and by different stylists. The wait was less than 10 minutes. One stylist did a good job and the other stylist butchered my sons hair. His hair grows quickly, I will get someone else to fix his haircut next time. Update: had my 4 year olds hair cut a week ago, turned out so good! Hardley any wait and they eased him into the haircut so he had no anxiety and very happy with my experience.

So my hair was BEYOND damaged. I walked in with my nephew and they greeted us in the nicest way possible. Im so happy that I let Michelle cut my hair. Its the perfect length. Not too short. She left my bangs pretty long at first (thats how I normally have them) but she said they would look better a little shorter. I let her cut them more, well Im glad I did, they look great. When I go back ill only ask for Michelle next time (:

I have been going here since 2002 and I will not be going back when you ask for a short hair cut and you hate the bob like shape they keep giving you and they do the same cut you made clear you HATE well that is the end of it and when they do your eyebrows and leave all the wax residue lets just say it is time to find A new place to go. Now im off to get my hair cut the way I want it

Gave me a good haircut and recommended me a product. The haircutter accidently gave me the wrong one, so he called me a few minutes later to inform me of the mistake. The product I meant to buy was actually more expensive and he payed for the difference and even threw in a bonus! Very friendly and kind!

Staff was rude, the middle aged Mexican lady working there said the wait was a couple minutes. I waited for 30 minutes. An older lady who cut my hair was careless n didnt seem like she really knew how to cut what I asked for. Not going here again after 2 trips there. Wasnt happy either time.
