I was so excited for my appointment with Kelly the Owner of Choppers Salon last week. It was an honor for me to have that opportunity after reading his history and the knowledge he had. When I arrived at the salon, the girls at the counter were very nice. I waited in the very cool waiting room and watched some Greenday videos and drank a cold bottle of water. So far it was going well! About 10 minutes later a man arrived that looked completely "stoned" out of his mind....he didnt smell of booze or pot, but he was definitely not quite there.....he ushered me back to his station, and started telling me stories about not living anywhere, his house sitting gigs, and the fact that he wanted an apartment over his shop. I thought maybe he would be entertaining..... Until he started to cut my hair....................he did not ask what I wanted him to do, he just started cutting - at first I thought he was very methodical, but as he progressed he spoke in disjointed sentences, chopping away at my hair the whole time!! He did not have any style in mind and didnt talk to me about anything hair related - he just threw random weirdness out at me and I couldnt understand half of his slurred words. Needless to say I left completely disappointed in my session with Kelly. My hair had really weird patches of short and several patches of long whisps that didnt make any sense. Yesterday I made an appt to go back and have it repaired - hopefully by another stylist that may be able to fix the damage. I explained my situation to the girl on the phone and told her I did not want to hurt his feelings but wanted to have it fixed by someone else. When I arrived - the only person in site was Kelly.....he ushered me back to his station, offered me water and then asked what we were doing.....he did not even remember me from 4 days earlier.....I told him I thought that my hair needed some repairs and he became defensive and asked what was wrong with it - the issues were quite noticeable as I was unable to even style those sections!! He walked away then came back and asked what I wanted......I told him that I had booked a time with another stylist to fix it and he huffed off. I decided at that moment that this place was NOT for me - and left the building. On the way out I told him that I would just leave and would not be coming back.....he didnt even care to lose my business. $65 wasted on a BAD cut, BAD customer service and a really BAD stylist that does not seem to have a complete grasp on reality anymore. Needless to say....I was extremely disappointed in this "Master Stylist" who did one of the worst jobs I have ever had done on my hair. I will never recommend this salon to anyone.

Qué tristeza el día de hoy, una decepción grandísima, me deje crecer mi cabello solo para cortar las puntas lo tenía cerca de mi cola y me lo dejo debajo del busto yo me dejé llevar por sus títulos, sus estudios pero veo que esto está fuera de la realidad, mujeres nunca vayan a pedir cita con este señor KELLY porque el hace lo que se le da la gana así le muestres fotos, le expliques el hace lo que quiere, señor el éxito no es ser dueño de un salón, el éxito está en saber ESCUCHAR al cliente, No me interesaba saber de sus viajes por el mundo, respeto más una persona callada que sea consiente de lo que está realizando, estoy segura que estaba borracho no tenía estabilidad, me lo aguante todo el tiempo viendo lo que hacía con mi cabello, ya no podía hacer nada, fui una idiota, otra cosa le vendría bien actualizar su página para que vea que no está tan joven como luce ahí en la página, es un señor muy grande!!!!

My Brazilian Blowout with Kelly @ Choppers was amazing. I left his salon feeling like I had to say something. I am a Salon girl and I love to be treated well. I just moved here from LA and am still getting to know my way around Scottsdale. My hair is a little stubborn and can be frizzy when I do not flatiron. My girls back home in LA kept telling me about the Brazilian Blowout and I had to check in to it. Have to share with you it got very frustrating the number of times I spoke with a nice salon that said they did Brazilian Blowout but when asked specifically it turned out to be another product and treatment they were calling BB. Long story short. Good news was Kelly @ Choppers kept coming to the top of my list. Crazy to think I already knew exactly where Choppers was. Kelly is a pro. He was patient, inviting and his shampoo OMG. That alone was worth the trip. Truly wish my boyfriend would learn to do that. When he finished I could not believe the difference in how my own hair felt. Smooth, silky and had more shine then ever before. Great fresh hair cut with lots of layering the way I love and all of the products that go with the treatment. The other salons wanted to charge me another $100 for the products that he gave to me. All for the same price. I am spoiled and loving it. Kelly is my Stylist and Choppers is my Salon. May be more expensive salons in Scottsdale but I would not recommend any more highly then Kelly @ Choppers.

I left Choppers nearly in tears. FINALLY feel soooo good about my hair again. Can not share with you how difficult, frustrating (and expensive) it has been finding a great new stylist. I recently moved here from LA where I had the same wonderful stylist for over 5 years. Previously, I had my hair highlighted at 2 other salons in Scottsdale and both times it simply was not what I had asked for or expected. Good news - FINALLY after talking with numerous local friends and asking women whose hair I admired when I was out, Kelly @ Choppers was my choice. His salon was one of the most interesting places I have ever been in. Colorful and fun. Did not really remind me of any other salon I have been in. The other girls that work with him were actually quite nice, friendly and they asked and seemed to really care if I need or wanted for anything. My fresh highlights were totally right on the color. The weave was exactly what I had asked for and hair cut with lots new volume and actual shape. Kelly was enjoyable, funny and truly an artist. Loved the fact that he does all of the salon design work and has traveled so much. I do not write many reviews but felt like I had to share something of my experience with Kelly. It was truly not the usual "Upscale" salon experience and his work is absolutely inspired.

I read the reviews on Kelly and I cant help but think..Did he write these himself? I just dont see how he got any good reviews at all. I wake up everyday and Hate him more n more for messing up my hair he cut my bangs soo short and Choppy I cant do anything with them it looks like I had my Little child cut them for me and ive gone to have them fixed by someone else but unfortianally they are so short they arnt fixable without making them more short which is not what I want, I did not want them short at all Kelly did not pay any attention to how I styled my hair when I walked in and he decided to do his own thing I guess without saying anything to me he just kept cutting and making a style that I completly hated it was beyond choppy and looked horriable!!!!! I never wanted bangs but he did them any way did not take the time to ask me how id like my hair styled or anything and now I have other stylest telling me...Dont cut your hair yourself next time and im embarassed to say well I didnt cut my hair Kelly a "Master" stylest did. :( Now all other stylest tell me the only thing I can do is wait for it to grow out more before then can fix it. I HATE MY HAIR!!!!!!! And I honestly dont believe these reviews are real expect for one who if you read it had the same experance as me. :(
