I have had a number of haircuts with a number of barbers here, although Gillian is my regular, and I have received incredible care each time. Ill be honest, I dont know that much about hair and I feel confident in saying that the Average Joe doesnt either. With that in mind, I would recommend keeping things relatively vague when they ask what you would like. They all know hair very well and will work with your head shape, hair type, product preferences, etc. and allowing them to do what they think would be best is, quite frankly, the best. However, they also will work very closely to anything you have in mind. They care about their craft, they enjoy their work, and they know how to make a worthwhile experience. $25, which may seem steep for some, gets you a near-flawless haircut, a hot towel wrap (which, last time, was peppermint scented), a straight razor neck-shave, and a massage at the end. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a quality barber shop.

After my first appointment at Garrett Michael, I am now a loyal customer for life! I have yet to experience such professionalism and care wrapped up in a comfortable and welcoming environment. I feel like everyone in the shop (Dani, Isaac, Josh and Gillian) were very personable and made me feel at ease from the moment I walked in. Josh cut my hair and trimmed my beard. He was very thorough in going over what I wanted to have done with it and he took great care in explaining what he was doing through the process. We talked fishing, family and life in general. The hot towels made my day! Afterwards, Dani took some pictures of me and uploaded them to their instagram account @garrettmichaelbarbershop . I feel that this experience is worth the price and I will be back. Pros: Great barbers, very personal and thorough, professional, classy, open 7 days a week. Cons: Ill let you know when I find them.

This significantly designed barbershop offers all of the old-world appeal and first rate barber services you’d expect these days. Getting a haircut and shave at Garrett Michael Barbershop is like entering a time warp, as you will experience old world chairs, the smell of aftershave, The mixture of talc, hair tonics, Barbicide, and getting your hair cut by Joshua Lucero or any other of those great professionals is an inexplicable experience in a relaxing atmosphere. There is a secret club that every man should join and it is not Skull and bones or The Grand Orange Lodge. Visiting Garrett Michael Barbershop exudes that feeling of the early 20th Century should be on the list of all men. P.S Please make time to meet Marlo, she’s the most delightful HR Manager.

Love the shop. My biggest pet peeve with barbers is when theyre already cutting your hair before you finish saying what you want. Not the case here (at least with Terry, the only barber Im able to speak about). I only go to see Terry, so I can only speak to his abilities, which are awesome. I tried having someone else cut my hair but they messed it up pretty badly. It was already a super close cut, but Terry was able I fix it and make it look not just better, but great. Id recommend Terry, but Im sure everyone there is skilled based on what Ive seen. Plus its a super chill and relaxed environment. Id give 6 stars if I could.

Love getting my hair cut by Gillian Sitton. Ive recommended her to many friends and colleagues, and if they end up with any of the other barbers here at GMBS I know theyll receive top notch service. Dani has a keen eye for picking great barbers to hire that are not only talented with their craft but also spectacular people. This is a wonderful shop with a great feel. When I first came in I was a little intimidated and wasnt sure I was cool enough, but everyone opens up and treats you like family. Now when I go I almost feel like Norm from Cheers. [dated reference alert]. Happy to recommend the place to all I know.

The Garrett Michael Barber Shop is 10 out of 10 in my book. The staff is professional as well as friendly and engaging. Gillian, the barber who cut my hair, did a great job with my hair. I said as I left this might have been the best haircut Ive ever gotten. We had a lovely conversation and got together greatly. The environment is nice and it seemed most of the customers that came in after me were regulars, and the staff seemed to know everyone who stepped in. I have nothing negative to say about this place. This was one of the best hair cutting experiences Ive had in my life and I will be a returning customer.

Just moved into town and was looking for a good barber shop to go to. Was reading reviews on Google and noticed this one had the highest reviews. This barber shop is a classic for sure. Matt did an incredible job with my fade haircut and they also do straight razor neck shave at the end. I would definitely recommend them. The last barber shop that I used to go to cost about $45 for a haircut, and I think that they could charge that much here for what they do. But they only actually charge $20 per cut. If youre looking for a good classic barber definitely check this one out!

I love GM Barber Shop. I got my first haircut here more than a year ago and its so hard to go anywhere else. I get my hair cut by Dani most of the time but have also gotten cut by Eric. They both kill it every time! I love how they pay great attention to detail. I travel 45 minutes to Salt Lake because I know the quality at GM is worth the drive. Great vibes and awesome people. I love it when people ask me where I get my hair cut and I can tell them about GM!

Ive been going here for a few months now. This place is the real deal! Eric is my barber and does an excellent job each time. Every barber there is professional and respectful. I dig the shop dog too. I think her name is Marlo. The owner is definitely passionate about her business and it shows. This place is always busy, so make sure you make an appointment via their online portal; easy and convenient. I highly recommend them! They give a great shave too!

If youre rockin a beard or just need a nice cut, look no further! Theyve got me a customer as long as I continue to be blessed enough to have hair! Lol. Yalls newest client is a Midwestern business professional Transplanted here in good ol SLC!

They Suck! Dont go there. All of them barely doing this, no experience whatsoever. Save your dough or go to refinery barbershop in Springville. This "merd" in Utah is getting old, bunch of wanna-bs following trends and bastardizing all trades, crafts, etc. to all hipsters in Utah. S-t-o-p i-t!!!! Be genuine to truth, stop your individualism.

Excellent barber shop. Kevin cut my hair and he did a really good job, exactly what I asked for, with great attention to detail, Im very happy. A really nice atmosphere in the shop too. Im a visitor to Salt Lake City but if I did live here, without a doubt this is the place I would return to. Very impressed. Thanks for a great haircut:)
