I purposely chose this barber shop after reading the glowing reviews online. The one thing I liked is the shop was spotless. They get it the cleaned every weekend and I went on a Monday and it looked great. However, my barber was very unprofessional and my haircut was average. Foul mouthed and crude - I found his style to be uncomfortable with way too much personal information and cheesy jokes. Within a week of getting the cut, I was already noticing spots growing in unevenly. There are TVs there, but they werent turned on when I was there and nor did he offer. Other than that there really isnt any perks. At $14 a cut - I couldnt justify the quality here for a return visit.

One-of-a-kind barber shop. All of the barbers handle every type of hair, older white guys, younger black guys, fades, trims, tapers, line-ups, etc. Theyre handy with clippers, sheers, and straight razors - hot shave at VIP is one of the best Ive had in a while. The first time I went in I was frustrated because I had to wait a little while, but I appreciated it when I was in the chair and realized how they take their time with each customer to make sure they get a great cut.

I normally hate doing reviews because when I do something somehow changes (e.g., my favorite person disappears from the earth, prices change, I was in on a "special," you get me). This place is the exception. Its obvious they are consistently professionals, and genuinely kind (how often can you say that about anyone these days?). Felt welcome from the moment I met Eric & colleagues yesterday, and Spartacus HOOKED MY HAIRCUT UP today! Surpassing even what I envisioned.

I tried four other barbershops and salons in North Phoenix before settling on VIP. Spartacus and his team know their business, and give an excellent haircut every time! They do an old-school operation, so expect a touch-up shave, hot towels, optional eyebrow/nose/ear trimming, and the occasional shoulder rub. Make sure you call-in sameday to make an appointment, unless you dont mind shooting the breeze with the guys for a while!

I would go out of my way across town just to get my cut here. Every time i go they take there time to make sure your taken care of. Not only are they super professional, but they cant adapt to any sort of cliental to make them feel the most comfortable. This is my go to barber shop. To quote James Jamerson in the 1st Spiderman movie, when Peter Parker asked him "Dont you trust anybody?" his reply was "I trust my barber". Diddo.

This place is good times....the people who give bad reviews for VIP have silly reasons. one complained about a foul mouth. Has he never been to a barber shop before? Lol I travel 15 miles nowadays just to get my haircut here because my area of town lacks good quality barbers. Havent had a bad experience here and have been coming here for about a year now.

One of the worst beard trimmings Ive ever had the misfortune of recieving. I should have billed Ruben for leaving the shop wearing it. Poor communication, no A/C in the shop when I visited, and an intolerable result. Id never go back, and Id warn others off about going. Your hair thanks you for choosing another barber.

I was looking for a someone who could cut my hair using scissors and not clippers like most of my previous cuts. Arthur gave me a scissor cut and boy did he a great job! Im from Texas and anytime Im in Phoenix Ill definitely make an appointment to see him!

I was in town and badly needed a trim. Id like to recommend Mike to any who appreciate a real barbershop...including straight razor, warm shaving cream, hot face towel, etc. And did I mention affordable? Super job VIP, see you next time Im in Phoenix!

This is by far the best barber shop I have ever been to in my life.The workers are friendly, and they always have something good playing on their monitors. Like a movie or a sports event, so even if there is a long line sometimes, you still have fun.

I go to Arthur everytime I go . I have been coming here for two weeks I drive from surprise to vip barbershop because I wont go anywhere else . These guys treat you like family here . Just try it out once. Guaranteed to love their work !
