My fiancée (as of one day ago) went to Salon Amarti for a spa day during spa week. She absolutely loved every service she received, from the mani/pedi, to the facial, to the full body massage. But thats just the beginning. Any spa can do those things, but Salon Amarti stands out for the following: I contacted them about a week before my girlfriends (at the time) spa day and told them I would be coming there to surprise her by proposing. They were more than glad to help me spring it on her and excited to see me when I arrived. They somehow knew who I was though we had never met and I never told them what I looked like! Everyone, including the owner, Sammy Armarti, was so accommodating and wanted my proposal to be successful. The ladies there did so much, and the man who was massaging my fiancée was more than glad to continue to massage her when we needed to stall for a few moments. Without giving the full story of how I proposed, just know that the people at Salon Amarti were excellent in every way. The services they offer are supurb, but more importantly, the way they serve their customers in ways that go beyond simply providing a spa service is impeccable. The owner, Sammy Amarti, even helped us celebrate our engagement by personally serving us champagne! We will be back, and we strongly recommend anybody visiting the area or living in the area to go as well. I dont suggest anyone copy my idea of proposing there, unless you want to pay me a nickel for the idea ;-) Just know that you will be well cared for at Salon Amarti. Lastly, I just want to say "thank you" again for all the help you guys provided in my proposal yesterday. We are two of the happiest people in the world right now and you all had a part in it. Like many others, I deviated from my normal salon because of the wonderful deal that I got via groupon. Ive been going to another salon in Alexandria since 2010 and having my naturally dirty blonde hair dyed an auburn red. I asked the stylist for if I could go lighter because I wanted to try to go back to blonde and she flat out said no, my hair was too dark. Now, I think the problem was miscommunication because my groupon was for all over color and I really needed highlights, but I have never been flat out told "no, n-o" at a salon before, so that was a jarring experience. I wish I could remember the stylists name, but unfortunately I cannot. She was otherwise polite enough, if somewhat inattentive. I will give them that my appointment was one of the last in the day, and because of the influx of appointments they had due to the groupons, they were running late, so they were open later than normal. I gave then a 1 because their talent is definitely decent, but their customer service skills are lacking. My friend I went with got a challenging color and style and it came out beautifully. And there was really nothing to complain about mine. I just have absolutely no intention of returning because it was such an uncomfortable experience. For a salon that supposedly "[combines] artistry and style with the highest quality of customer service," they certainly did not meet my expectations when I went.

I have been going to Salon Amarti for almost 2 years now. Like many new transplants in the area, searching for the right salon is like kissing many frogs ... until you find the one! My search was over when I discovered this gem through a Living Social coupon. With many obstacles, my work week, texture of my hair, color process, etc., I was definitely grateful that they could accommodate my needs. Upon arrival, I did not have to wait long -- unlike many salons who schedule and still are not ready by the time you get there -- I was immediately given a consult. Since my hair is thick, long and very curly, my needs are very precise of knowing how my hair will respond to cuts and/or color. My stylist, Sammy, listened patiently and offered his ideas and opinions ... glad I took his advice! In my two years of visiting this salon, all experiences have been wonderful ... cut, color, highlights, shampoo and styling! So happy with my results, Im eventually going for the next procedure of Keratin treatment with Salon Amarti ... cant wait! The overall welcoming atmosphere, decor and friendly employees here remind me my of my favorite salon in Los Angeles. If you are looking for a new salon I absolutely recommend coming here!

I bought a deal on Homerun and got partial highlights, cut and style. My hairstylist was Trepka and I cannot say enough great things about her!!! She talked me out of getting a full color (which is what I originally wanted) and suggested that I get highlights instead with multidimensional color. She knew EXACTLY what I wanted (I was explaining the kind of hairstyle and color I wanted, she immediately knew that I wanted side swept bangs like Kim Kardashian and a gorgeous honey brown color like Jennifer Lopez). She showed me a color chart and my highlights are seriously the BEST Ive ever gotten and Ive been to several salons (yes, including the really pretentious ones). My hair is neither too light/brassy/blonde, its a perfect honey brown color like I suggested and I love my do hairdo. I will definitely be coming back to Trepka for more highlights. If you want a celebrity-inspired look, ask for Trepka - shes very knowledgeable, hip and stylish and shell definitely help you out.

I got ready here with my bridal party and they were amazing!!! I would highly recommend to anyone for a special occasion. They opened up the salon an hour early for us and did an amazing job on everyones hair and makeup. I was expecting us to run late but not only did we finish on time but we finished early! They did a beautiful job on 9 hair dos and 3 make ups. They were very flexible and at the last minute when my Mom decided that she had to get her make up done too- they worked her in with no problem. Naci did a wonderful job- she did all of the make up and three peoples hair and it looked amazing. They really listened to what everyone wanted and delivered. They worked well with both people who knew exactly what they wanted and other people who needed a little more inspiration. The hair and make up held up for the entire day and looked wonderful. Very happy and will definitely be returning for my regular hair cuts and style.

I bought the Groupon deal for a haircut and partial highlights and had a morning appointment on the weekend. My stylist, Trepka, greeted me immediately and was quite helpful when I told her I have never had my hair colored in any way before. She brought out the color swatches and I chose copper mahogany highlights. She took her time doing them and I am very pleased with the result. My medium brown hair has darker highlights and a lot of shine to it now. The massage chairs that you sit in to get your hair washed are a really nice perk. I rarely get much hair cut off because I am attached to it but I trusted Trepka and she took off about 2 inches and she did a great job layering it in the front and giving it a razored look like I requested. I would say this is the best hair cut I have gotten and I appreciate the time she took to blow dry it completely straight. I will come back here for highlights in the summer!
