The gym and all amenities are good - the problem is the customer service. After being a member for 3 years, I asked to bring down my initial rate from $44.99 to at least $39.99 a month. The manager on duty was very unprofessional and gave me attitude when I tried to reason with her. When I politely mentioned that there is no lack of other gyms in the area - and hinting that some gyms offer better pricing - the comedy unraveled. The manager declared to me "we are not a competition with other gyms in the area". I did not know that Onelife fitness has a monopoly on gyms - but what do I know? The manager bargained on the reduction of the said amount on terms that were even worse than my current pay plan. First, she offered a one-time down payment of $150 for a reduction in monthly payments from $44.99 to $39.99 - a terrible deal if you do the math and take into account my 3 year tenure. Soon thereafter, thanks to her "computer system", she reduced it to $75 and then $50. When I asked why - after 3 years of being a member - I was not allowed to reduce my membership monthly payment to the available option of $39.99 without making another down payment, the manager came up with another lousy lie. Because of the poor business acumen and customer service of the so called manager, I will be searching for another gym in the area. I am thinking LA Fitness in Springfield where the membership is only $32.99.

Great gym, terrible customer service. We have had a membership at this location for years & transferred it membership to our college-aged daughter. She did not use the facility for months as she was away at college. We had a debit card on file that was replaced due to unauthorized activity on our bank account. We forgot to update our information on this account (easy to overlook if you dont use the gym since the payment is automated). When my daughter returned to use her membership in May she was notified that she owed 3 months worth of payments , which we did not receive any notification for whatsoever! She paid the balance due on the spot with the understanding that her account was up to date. The next day we get a call at home from Onelife telling us we need to renew the entire membership and would we like to put a deposit down!!?? After much conversation we were informed that our account had been inactivated after the second month. Would have been nice to know. Regardless, they would not honor our request to reactivate the membership & bypass the initial fee. that is just AWFUL customer service. Thanks but no thanks...have gone to another gym in the area

If I were rating just the gym, I would easily give it 5 stars. The only thing that truly disappointed me about the offerings were the added fees. $4 to use the kids club each time and the enrollment fee. For the actual gym, probably one of the best in the area. However my personal experience of going to the gym was poor at best. I came in for the free trial offer, and was approached by one of the membership team. I was essentially asked to forgo the trial and sign up on the spot for a full membership, to get a discount on the enrollment fee, without even being shown the club first. I explained that I was just starting to look at joining a gym, and wasnt looking to sign up on the spot. I was then shown to the locker room, and that was all I got for a tour of the facility. It has now been 2 days since my trial expired, and I havent even received a follow up call. To be frank, for the price point I was expecting much better customer service. I have been a member of similar clubs before, and was provided a better walk around when coming to a new location of the same club than I was on my first visit to One life.

Worst Experience Ive had with a gym. I signed up due to the fact that I was able to bring my cousin with me who is 15 about to be 16, they allowed me so. Theres a very rude front desk worker who asked us if we were allowed so we told her we had permission... she told us that we had to leave because we needed a parent. The next time I went in with my mom and the "Manager" once again told us we would be allowed to continuing going. NOW, today we went in and the same lady asked us again and I answered saying we had permission to be there. She then brought another "manager", very rude one who didnt care about what we had to say and asked us to leave. Im 17 and we both pay our membership without help of our parents meaning so that we both are responsible enough. What bother me a lot was that they wasted my and my parents time telling us that we are allowed but kept kicking us out. Why not just tell us we cant rather than kicking us out and stealing our money. I guess they wont be having any of us nor friends with them in the near future.. time to move from gym. Peace out and learn to listen to your customer.

Good: lots of equipment, lots of classes, saltwater pool, hot tub and sauna. The bad: if you want to cancel, they will make you come into the gym to do so. My friend got the membership and only went one time in a year, so she decided to cancel. They absolutely insisted she physically come in to cancel. The Meh: The cleanliness is okay. Not super clean, but not so nasty I cant deal with it. The customer service is so-so. I wish the hours on the weekend were longer, although the weekday hours are good. My membership is about $40/month, which I think is a fair price. One thing that kind of sucks is that the sauna is for both men and women. The sauna is very large- perhaps too large, so sometimes it isnt quite hot enough. They do close the sauna an hour early and it is often out of order. For the most part the gym is comfortable. I have never had to wait for a machine. Sometimes people will have little kids in the dressing room, which can be kind of annoying if the kids are acting up/screaming/etc. The kids are also allowed in the pool, which is....ewww.

Typical heartless, money grubbing chain. First off, due to a horrible year of one tragedy after another, I was too sick to use my membership. The person in charge of billing had no sympathy whatsoever and continued to try to sell me as much as possible (personal trainer etc, trying to get me to renew my membership) and keep me on the phone for his own benefit. No sign of human life or warmth over there, just a bottom line. It was like talking to the Terminator; someone should teach this man about human emotions. Hasta La Vista Baby.... Also, I needed to update my credit card, so I called and left messages and they kept promising to call me back, but didnt. Soon they started threatening to terminate my membership via automated phone calls because I hadnt updated my credit card! That was the most ridiculous part of all! Hello Catch 22. OneLife is great if you love being surrounded by used car salesman. Hopefully the robots over there wont rebel and take over human society!
