I had the good fortune of working with Jeff Cooper on my porch painting project. The house is 100+ years old and the porch is suffering a bit (a lot). Jeff seemed un-phased by the challenge and the price was competitive so despite my reservations about working with college students with relatively little experience, I signed up. I will say this, Jeff did an excellent job in the customer service and sales department and the quality of work was good. I had to ask them to do a number of things that I believe would have been obvious to seasoned painters, but whatever I asked, they complied with smiles on their faces and polite words. The only reason that I did not give a perfect rating is because I feel like I got lucky in that I had the Project Manager and crew that I had. The College Works Painters have been trained extensively I am sure, but there is no substitute for years on the job and I would probably only recommend the company to someone who has a schedule that would allow them to be onsite during the process. As for Jeff himself, I would recommend him without hesitation to any potential employer or customer of whatever field he chooses to go in to.

We had been wanting to paint the trim on our house for years but hadnt made it a priority. We started thinking about using College Works Painting after noting the fact that Jeff was looking for summer work on one of the coldest days of January. He also kept reconnecting with us in a low-key way over the next couple of months as we were making our decision. It seemed evident he was determined and had a strong work ethic. Once the work started, we were very impressed with Jeff Cooper and his painting crew from the beginning to the end of the job. He managed his crew efficiently, the surfaces were prepped and painted with care and attention to detail, the job site was always neat and tidy during the workday and after finishing, and he communicated effectively throughout each phase of the job. We are extremely pleased with the work and would recommend College Works Painting to anyone.

I would like to offer an enthusiastic letter of reference for Alex Bohn, who did power-washing and exterior painting for us this month, with his organization, College Works. Throughout the process, Alex was a good communicator, always explaining in detail what to expect. He kept in touch with us, and we were never left wondering about scheduling. Alex was conscientious while working on our house, even carefully avoiding a bird nest with it’s eggs, that I’d asked him to watch out for. He took pains to protect landscaping plants during the painting process. Alex and crew did a beautiful job and we were very pleased with the final product. I was quite pleased with the work done by College Works Painting this summer. My house was in particular need of the some restoration and care. And Alex Bohn, Brett Warnick and their crew proved themselves capable of every request. One matter they had hoped to try, but decided against, was a faux wood door. When Alex realized this was going to be outside their skill level, he contacted the best painting artist in the area, who came and provided an estimate. Their professionalism and courtesy made the whole project a pleasure. Of course there were issues that came, and were pleasantly resolved. The matter of getting our gutters rehung, which unfortunately took much longer than it should have, was also handled in a way that was respectful and well done. Nice job, guys!

This has been my first experience with College works , with John Janousek being a upcoming third year student at UVa. He came across as very professional, hard working and was very communicative. He managed my homes 2 level outside painting as if it was a school project for a grade, making sure each step of the way was both clear and did several walk arounds with me to confirm the projects scope and intent. With my own personal experience as a businessman and professional I appreciated his level of communication and detail. I have no doubt that by the end of his summer stint as managing teams of house painters that it will have been a highly valuable experience for him.

John and Penn did an excellent job painting a portion of my cedar-sided home in Mill Creek today, finally finishing up about 6 p.m.. They worked very hard and efficiently, paid attention to detail and gave consideration to my special requests. Perhaps I was a bit of a difficult customer, but John listened to my concerns and addressed them to my satisfaction. A small point, he failed to call me to let me know he was running behind schedule, but I understand that its difficult to schedule painting in the rainy weather that weve been having. I have no hesitation in recommending his work to others.

We had a very good experience working with John and his team of painters. They completed two separate projects. One at the front of our home painting the porch floor Navy Ship gray and the black hand rails up the steps to the porch. The preparation work was excellent and should provide a lot of wear. In the rear of our home they power washed and sanded our wood deck, stained it and painted the white railing. John kept us well informed as to schedule. The work site was maintained in an organised/ clean manner. The team worked diligently and it was a good experience for us.

Professional and thorough, John was detailed in doing the estimate, walking me around the house and pointing out how each area of concern would be handled. We also did walk-arounds before work began and after it was finished. John was able to start the project earlier than promised, and the work was completed on schedule without being rushed. In particular, I appreciated that the crew kept things tidy and cleaned up behind themselves. Im happy with the results and would definitely recommend John.

I would like to comment on the wonderful job that College Works did painting my house. Brett Warnick and his crew did excellent prep work prior to painting and also paid a lot of attention to the other details. They left the workplace in a clean and tidy condition after each day of painting. All his painters, especially Brandt Berry, are very friendly and cordial. I am happy with the results of their work and would recommend them to anyone in need of painting. I also found their pricing to be very reasonable. They are a great crew to have on your property.

Josh, Tanner, and Tyler (JT&T) did a great job. Day 1 included power washing the house front exterior, driveway and sidewalk. Day 2 completed the power washing of the house and painting of the front exterior. I was blown away by the professionalism of the team and their attention to details. I am very pleased with College Works Painting and would use them again in the future. Josh is a great rep. and the JT&T team is one of the best!
