This place is the WORST I have ever been in my entire life, the entire experience was horrendous. They let a 19 year old with ZERO experience practice on me, and I was a new customer from Italy. I now have half of my left eyebrow completely off, I look terrible and I spent hours and hours crying as my face and image are now ruined for at least a month. She was waxing the eyebrows while I had my head down in the sink, it took her 40 minutes to do that HORRIBLE job and meanwhile my hair was WET. As for the hair itself, even though I requested a haircut and a blow drying, I ended up walking out of that place with wet dirty hair, dirty for the number of products they put on it, resulting in my hair stinking. My tshirt was soaking wet as well, because she didnt even put a towel on my shoulders. Also, I had to stand up while she was cutting it, she hadnt even brushed it, so my hair is now completely uneven, I would have done a better job, even a butcher would have done a better job. They tried to charge me 57 dollars instead of the 30 that they told me the haircut would cost. I had to go back home and wash the hair again, and I will have to wear sunglasses or a bandage on my eyebrow every time I go out, because I look like a monster. I dont know about the lady and the guy, but the fact they let that young girl mess up with me, is a symptom of complete lack of professionalism. Only "positive" note is that I got all of my money back, but believe me, were talking that I could have gone and sued them here, because of the mess they did. I managed not to lose it and go completely insane in the salon, and I kept being nice even after what I was facing in the mirror, and thats only because I am a well mannered person, but anybody else would have screamed, at the very least. When I got back home crying my eyes out, my husband could not believe what happened and went back there getting the money back.

To be honest, I have always preferred to go to the dentist than to a hair salon. I just dont like most salons - they usually smell of hair product and disappointment. Ive been salon hopping, hoping to find one I like. In this process, I decided to try Brown & Co. I am so glad I did! Jay was very friendly and professional. He actually listened to what I had in mind and made a few suggestions that helped me, rather than ignoring what I wanted. He has a great eye for which hairstyle goes with which facial shape. And for once, I felt completely comfortable in the salon. The ambiance is great - its an older home with parquet floors and great architectural features. And the atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly. Most importantly, I left with a hairstyle I love!

My daughter and I have been going to Brown & Co. since they opened and we always leave feeling wonderful! Jay, Ann and Sarah are all artists, really. They take the time to know you and listen to what you want. They just do a beautiful job! Usually I just sit in the chair and say " Do whatever you want"... not many people can say/do that. But really thats how great they are! I recently had my eyebrows done by Sarah... and I have never been so excited about my eyebrows .. in fact I just ignored them all together because it never "wowed" me. Then in steps Sarah....she listened to exactly what I wanted and did just that! Just call! Make an appointment... Youll be so happy you did!

I had a wonderful experience with Emily as my stylist! I am always so nervous to get my hair done because no one knows what to do with it and it never gets blow dried properly. Emily knew what to do with my hair right away ( my hair strands are fine, but I have tons of hair that ranges from kinky to curly to wavy, etc.) She has a lot of experience with ethnic hair and understood how important it was to give the roots extra TLC. She really listened to my requests for style and color. I absolutely love it and highly recommend this place to everyone! Also, the owner Jay was very friendly when I called in to make my initial appointment.

My wife and I have been regulars at Brown and Co. since they opened their doors a couple years ago (and before that we were their clients at their previous salon). Needless to say, we couldnt be any more happy with the service from Jay and Ann. They always are very welcoming, the salon is always sparkling clean, and their stylist skills are unmatched in Harrisonburg. They know what they are doing and the best part is, is that they care for their clients. Youll find it uncanny how well they remember your last visit and conversation - theyre just that good. If you need a haircut in Harrisonburg, VA, dont go anywhere else!

Had a great experience here. Got a very high quality haircut from very professional individuals. I was treated very kindly dispite it being my first time there. The price was high at 20$ but reflects the quality. Would reccomend to guys looking for a good haircut.
