Im sorry to have to post such a terrible review, but I had a really horrible experience at The Studio last Thursday and I have not yet received a call back from a manager although I have left 2 messages and was promised a call back to discuss my concern with my hair appointment. Unfortunately, when I arrived for my appointment last Thursday the front desk told me they did not have a record of my appointment in the computer (although I had called a week prior and booked an appointment to have a root touch up...something my previous stylist, Sarah, had told me would cost approx. $10-$15). Because of my schedule I needed to be seen right away and did not want to re-schedule for another day so I accepted an alternative stylist (they said she was a "master" stylist and so my fee might be "a little bit more.") The master stylist seemed to be very busy as others were consulting with her so perhaps that is why she did not hear my request for a "root touch up" and instead gave me a full color (and not my natural color as I requested, but much darker). During the entire appointment I was under the impression that I was receiving only a root touch up. I even asked and clarified with her while she was coloring it that she was doing only the roots. However, at the front desk they charged me for a full color ($100). I am still waiting for a call back from a manager so I can discuss my complaint and I am hoping for a resolution. At this point I will not go back to The Studio and I cannot recommend it to anyone else.

My stylist is Estella and she ROCKED my cut and color. I was butchered while living in Connecticut and she fixed my hair and gave me products to repair and smooth my hair. Pictures will show It! The pictures are not after I left the studio, they are on two different days when I styled my hair myself. It is so manageable and the haircut fits my head perfectly so I dont have to fight with my hair to style it. My nail tech is Victoria. She is AWESOME! I have posted pictures of my fabulous glitter nails! She is very creative and we are soon to try a Fourth of July theme and later, for vacation, a Disney theme on my nails! Facial expert is Morgan. This facial was, hands down, the BEST facial I have ever gotten and I have had many. She balanced my skin and helped me start over with my pores. She also recommended a couple of products that has kept my skin balanced. While my mask was drying she massaged my neck and shoulders! I rescheduled with her in 4 weeks and I might not even need it...but I am getting it anyway because it was so amazing! Lindsay, Donna and Johan at the front desk are so polite, excited, and helpful. They learned my name quickly and greet me with huge smiles. They remember what services I had so they will say "Let me see!" When I get my nails or they notice new hairdo! Such a wonderful group of people! The Studio is truly a one-stop-shop! Try it and you will not be sorry!

I used the studio for my wedding. We got married on a sunday and I called a month ahead to set up stylists to come to our venue due to the fact that all local studios were closed on Sundays. I had 6 plus myself in my bridal party and had set up for makeup and hair for all of us. Laurel and B had committed to coming out for us. I confirmed on several occasions including the week prior to our wedding to make sure everything was still a go. On the day of my wedding Laurel showed up on time and did a fabulous job on our make up. However, B NEVER SHOWED UP !!!! I did not even receive so much as a phone call from her to say she couldnt make it. After several attempts to contact her by myself and Laurel we were finally informed that she had eaten bad sushi and was ill. Thanks to one of Laurels friends we were able to get our hair done however it was extremely stressful. No bride should have to worry about a PROFESSIONAL not showing up to do the bridal partys hair! It was an awful experience one of the most important days of my life. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THE STUDIO FOR YOU SPECIAL DAY!!! THEIR PROFESSIONALS ARE UNRELIABLE!!! If you need to get makeup done I highly recommend contacting Laurel... She not only did a fabulous job she saved the day!!

I have been going to the studio for two years and had mostly very good hair cuts and color. I had one experience that changed that completely. I feel I must warn others about the Studios lack of consideration for their customers and inattention. This week, I had an appointment at 3PM, and I showed up early (2:45). I waited and waited, wondering where my stylist was. The receptionist kept telling me that the stylist would be with me shortly. After an hour of waiting, the stylist finally came down. I was then taken upstairs by the receptionist (without the stylists knowledge) and to the owner Judy. Judy told me she would be cutting my hair. The confused stylist came upstairs and asked what was going on, why had her client been taken? The two argued until the owner said "Well its up to her!" (motioning towards me). I was put in a very awkward situation, and ended up going with my original stylist. It was the most unprofessional experience Ive had at a hair salon. I was stuck at the studio for four hours total, waiting while my stylist (slowly) cut and highlighted my hair. And what did I get for my horrible experience? TEN dollars off the haircut. Very unprofessional. I will likely go somewhere else for my next haircut.

Was dreading getting a haircut for a while now in fear that a poor job would be done. Ive seen all of my roommates recently get cuts from other places that they werent satisfied with. I saw the reviews here were the best so I decided to give it a try. The women at the front desk were rather nice and one of them even came up and offered me coffee or water and we talked for a bit. Was surprised by this, as I didnt expect to be treated with such importance even though the phones seemed to be ringing off the hooks. Then I got in the chair with Brandi. I got lucky to be placed with her since she was just about the most experienced one there. Multiple people came up to her for advice throughout the process. Was very satisfied with the end result and the advice she gave me to keep it looking good. This place is a little pricier compared to other places but it was more than worth it in my opinion. Still gave her a sizable tip and almost wanted to give even more. Plan to come back soon.

I am from Northern Virginia and have been getting the same short bob haircut there for several years at a local salon that I trust and love. I am always nervous about allowing someone else to do my haircuts because I never know if they understand exactly what I want or what Im looking for. After 3.5 years of living in Harrisonburg and hearing about The Studio from friends who always gave the salon wonderful reviews, I finally decided to give it a shot. I went in for my first haircut at The Studio back in September and was absolutely satisfied! I even got my bangs trimmed, which I usually will do myself only because I usually dont trust most people to do my bangs for me. Now I know that I will absolutely continue going back to the Studio for my haircuts and styling, without a doubt. The price is amazing compared to the salons up near DC that Im used to, and the quality and service is even better.
