I have been going to this barber shop for 8 or 9 years now. I have never had to wait terribly long, unless it is a Saturday morning or the day before school pictures are taken. Normally, I walk in and get seated right away. Arthur, the manager (maybe owner?), is a nice guy and good barber, and has many regulars. Often he will have one or two customers waiting for him. I always opt for who is next available. I believe I have had my hair cut by every barber in the place and have never had a bad experience. The women barbers tend to be on the quiet side, and they always ask how I want my hair cut and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed with a cut. No knock on Arthur here, but the female barbers are very attentive, will trim your eyebrows, mustache even ears if you want. Again they are careful and eager to cut your hair the way you want it cut. I always feel a little pampered here, neck shaved and maybe a scalp massage and never an added charge. More than just a haircut it like a mini-spa treatment. The price of a haircut here is a good value and tips are greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this place, it is rare to find a place where all the barbers are so good.

My wife talked me into having a professional trim my hair and beard since I had been doing it. So, I went to a place that seemed to be right in-line for that. A Barbershop. This is NOT a mens barbershop. First they face you away from the mirrors and you stare are the people waiting since the TVs are just out of eye reach, then it takes a long time to get the hair cut without you seeing what is going on. (So if there is a change, it is too late). Then I asked them to trim the beard a certain way..explained it 3 times, then (again without me see what she was doing) she took the clippers to it and trimmed it down to nothing. Once I felt what was going on it was too late. It looked horrible and I asked her to stop (nicely) and that I would pay and fix it myself. I still paid full price and looked worse than I did going in. It has been a month and still hasnt grown back. You are better off going to a supercuts or whatever.

After reading the rave reviews posted here I was surprised at the horrid hair cut I received. As I was entering the barber shop an elderly Asian woman grabbed me and after telling me that “she would cut my hair today” proceeded to SHAVE the sides of my head. I had asked for a hair cut similar to the one I had, only shorter. However, instead of using a succors (the way my thin hair is usually cut) she whipped out a buzzer and essentially buzzed my head. As I hadn’t said anything about wanting to join the military or some such, I find her behavior inexplicable. Not only that, but she gave me such an uneven cut that I had to let my sister fix it when I got home. On the other hand, while my scalp was being shorn I did have the chance to observe the bald barber guy giving three fantastic haircuts. I guess the moral of the story is have that guy cut your hair, and stay away from the elderly Asian woman.

Absolutely the worst hair cut I have ever had the displeasure of getting. First it was Arthur, or whatever the bald rude guys name is. He sprayed so much water on my head it ran down the back of my neck. He was rude mannered and seemed annoyed. This guy apparently has too many customers and needs to thin out a few. So, I thought I would give the place a second chance. Then I got the Asian gal. My two year old grandson could have done a better job. I could have cut my own hair and done a better job. I seriously wonder if this group of people are certified barbers that went to school. I dont know how they stay in business. If they have so many customers that they can afford to treat them like this, then Im going to help them out and give them one less customer. And SLOOOOOWW! Dont get your hair cut here if you ONLY have an HOUR for lunch.

The moment I sat on the chair I told the woman exactly what I wanted done with my hair. "Skin tight on the sides, leave the top alone." and showed her a picture of me with the desired haircut. It started out fine, the clippers kept grabbing my skin and cutting it a little, but thats fine. Near the end, she begins to trim my hair on the top... attempting to give me a shape-up. I had specifically told her not to do that and I had to pull away to stop it. Once she was done, I paid my bill and left. When I got home I realized that she completely forgot to trim the hair behind and immediately above my ears... I dont even know how that happens since she pretty much shaved the sides of my head.

Dont believe any of the positive reviews for Arthur, he is horrible and not in high demand!!! I went at 1 oclock on a Sat. and all the other barbers were cutting hair while Arthur was sitting in his chair reading the paper. There were other customers waiting for the other barbers while Arthur was reading the paper. He did not use scissors at all, only clippers! Not only that but you have hair all over your neck and face the entire time and are very uncomfortable during the so-called "haircut". I would NEVER go back!!!!

Arthur is a mans man type barber, meaning you could say as little as "I want it shorter" and leave 20min later with an excellent cut. You may have to queue behind 2 or 3 guys ahead of you as there are no reservations here -if you need a quickie the asian ladies there are fine. (smirk) Cuts are only 14$, so tip well. Hes leaving for a vacation the second half of January 2010 to Antartica. This man may be the most interesting man in the world.

I have been getting my hair cut by Aurthur for close to 10 years. I moved from Herndon to Ashburn, but I still go to Arthur to get my haircut. I also bring my son to him, and he loves Arthur. Fantastic barber and would highly recommend him to anyone... As far as the review that states he was sitting in a chair reading a paper while the others were cutting hair, I find that very hard to believe. I have NEVER seen that happen.

Arthur is great, i also doubt the review that Milan posted. Arthur is rarely ever sitting down, its one after another. Also i notice he spends just as much time on each person regardless of the line of people waiting. While this may make your wait times longer, in the end you have a better haircut. Also a lie about not using scissors, he uses them every time i get my haircut.
