This place is right by my office so I thought I would give it a try. First off, when you walk in, whoever is nearest the door yells out "customer!" Thats just unprofessional. I understand that there might be a cultural barrier, but there is also a bell that rings which politely conveys the same thing. As far as the haircut went, I felt uneasy the entire time. I do not have a basic haircut (its called the "euro style" where its short on the sides and styled on top) so I understand that it might be difficult to pick up. However, this is a fairly popular hairstyle right now and as such someone who cuts hair for a living should be able to do this effectively. Im not going to say that he butchered it, but he cut it as if he was being timed (mind you, there was no one waiting) and consequently it looked a bit sloppy. Also, when I was able to actually watch him cut my hair, he was not being precise in the least bit. Lastly, my hair was not shampooed and he rushed the straight blade on my neck. Not to be condescending towards the other people who have reviewed this place, but being able to cut a "simple" hairstyle is not something that warrants a 5 star review. Anyone with two eyes and steady hands can do that. A 5 star barbershop should be able to cut tricky hairstyles effectively while also making the customer feel confident that their hair isnt get ruined. If you want my opinion, drive 7 minutes down the street to the barbershop at Clocktower in Herndon. Haircuts are $12 there and just about every single person there can cut hair well.

I just got back to my office from the Reston Barber shop and immediately got on here to write a review...yes it was that good of an experience. Not only did Hong (I hope I spelled that correctly) who is also the owner do an amazing job at cutting my hair correctly, he also took such a fine notice to detail.. I usually pay anywhere from $25-$30 at a salon style place so I was hesitant to go to a "barber shop" but dont let the name fool you. He cut my hair better than any salon style hair cuttery ever has. I am very particular about my hair and with service in general, so this was a double A+ to me. Like I said, I never write reviews due to a lack of time usually, but this one needed to be written. I plan on going back for every cut.

I went there for my first time today and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was very friendly, and the stylist / barber I had was very polite and took her time. They also have hair vaccuums, so say goodbye to the prickly hair down the back of your shirt. I was particlarly impressed with the fact that the sylist actually shaved the back of my neck with shaving cream and a blade, after trimming of course, and applied aftershave as a final touch. All this for the same price as the chain store I have been going to for years. Two thumbs way up and yes, I will be going back. Very well done!

I give two stars because they were quick and cheap. Thats the only good part with my experience. They cut my hair much shorter than I asked, I had to point to a picture on a wall (from a selection that looked to be from the mid 80s) for what type of haircut I wanted, and the only straight razor neck shave they do is right at the hair line, the rest of my neck was trimmed with clippers (which I had to clean up when I got home because they missed a spot). Not worth it!

I work at an office nearby and was looking for a place to get a solid haircut. Ive been to salons that charge $100 for a mens cut, to other barbers that charge $14 like this one and to all types of places in between. Ill take this place every time. Great haircuts, no wait and the hot towel/straight blade shave on the back of your neck exemplifies their high level of service for a reasonable price. Highly recommend it and will be back often.

This is my first review on here and the only reason Im writing it is because all of the other reviews were 100% correct. I decided to try the place out yesterday based on the reviews and I highly recommend it. The haircut was $14 and they also put a hot towel on my neck, used a straight razor and warm lather to cut my neckline and sideburns, and were very thorough with the hair cut. By far the best hair place Ive found in the area.

I am not sure what the other reviews are all about. They did a terrible job, uneven haircut, one of the worst I have received in my life. Definitely not worth it, sorry, its the truth, I understand they are running a business and trying to make money but the quality is not there. If you had a good experience here, thats great, but for any new customers, please be VERY specific about what kind of haircut you want.

Asian hair is thicker and grows more straight so you cant cut it like you would caucasian hair. So i chose an asian barber thinking that they would know how to cut it. I was really disappointed when I left the shop with choppy uneven hair that was difficult to manage. I didnt even trust them to fix it because the guy had no idea what the thinning shears he had was supposed to be used for.

Im a simple man with a simple haircut (#1 all around), but they did it up nice. Not only was the lady thorough - i.e. no stray hairs - but she also offered to trim the brows, straight razor the neck, and hot towel the cut and shave afterwards, but I also got a shoulder rub during the hot towel treatment. This place was bang on. For $15, its great bang for the buck!

I started coming here two years ago when we moved to Reston. This is a great option for those of us who just want a basic, no-frills barbershop, not a salon or stylist. They give you the haircut you ask for with concern and care and at a reasonable price, and although they sell these, have never tried to push hair care products on their clients.

They are all very skilled barbers, but I am not happy about the white walls above my ears. Perhaps I should have told them not to use clippers without a guard behind my ears, but its like I got a little buzz right behind the ears. It looks like my mother did it back in the day.

I have been going here for almost 3 years now. They are very friendly and are great. Mens cuts are $13-14, the same staff has been there since I started going 3 years ago, so I know it will be what I want everytime.

Very warm, friendly staff. Very good, professional hair-cutting. And only $14 for a mens regular hair cut. And she even put the hot towel on my neck at the end and did a little massage.

If you are a man and just need your haircut its a great place to go. Waits are short if there are any. I have been 8 times over the last year and have not had a bad cut.
