My sister and I got a Groupon thinking we could go together. After making a reservation online we called the day before to confirm and were informed that they never received anything and that we would have to reschedule. We were also informed that they only have one technician so my sister made an appointment for 12 and I would be seen at 1. We werent thrilled about waiting for an hour but we had already purchased the Groupon. We called to say we were running behind and they said it was ok because she was still helping someone else. We got there and waited for about 20 minutes when someone walked in and said she wanted to get her nails done and the technician was about to help her. Thats when someone told the technician that she had two people waiting. She came out and asked if we had an appointment. At this point I was done. I told her to just see the walk-in and we would leave. She kept saying we had cancelled our appointment and we could reschedule. We just walked out. The whole experience was ridiculous.

Ive always been leery about purchasing a Groupon for a hair salon. I have found the reviews of most the advertised salons are sub-par, at best. When I found the Groupon for MJ Salon & Color Group, the reviews were excellent and decided to try it out. I used their online appointment request system form (as it was after hours), in hopes to get lucky and get an appointment for the next day. I received a call back the next morning, and was able to get in that afternoon! My appointment was with Monica, one of the owners of the salon. She was very professional and knowledgeable. She knew just the right color for perfect highlights for my hair. I gave her full control of my haircut, and it turned out great! I had my eyebrows done by another stylist which turned out great as well. While I had my hair done, my daughter got a manicure (by the same stylist that did my eyebrows) and she did an excellent job. I will definitely be going back, Groupon or not :)

So sad...bought a Groupon for a No-chip manicure and Spa Pedicure. I have never been treated so unprofessionally before. Sherry, the nail technician, refused to service me (even though I had an appointment) because I had a Groupon. She stood at the front desk and started arguing with me refusing to service me because she didnt want to take the Groupon. She actually refused. Then she threw a fit when the owner forced her to take me. Slammed things around, gave me absolutely no service whatsoever. I did not get the service I paid for on my Groupon. Such a shame. I was told by the nail technician that I needed to return the Groupons because she refuses to accept them. Then why have them? I dont get it...will NEVER go back! They almost had me in tears....so disappointing. Not a nice way to start my vacation. :(

Being a lifetime resident of Northern Virginia I have tried various hair salons and barbers over the years. Being a guy, I have typically have gravitated towards barber shops, but have also tried many salons as well. Recently a friend of mine suggested that I give MJ Salon and Color Group a try. I was somewhat hesitant, since I dont live in Manassas, but my friend was adamant that I give them a try. I gave them a try and I am so glad that I did. Monica was the stylist that cut my hair. She was super nice and completely understood what I was looking for in a haircut. The salon itself just had a rally nice feel, everyone was very nice. I will definitely be recommending MJ Salon to family and friends. Finally a salon that not only gets women hair right, but does an amazing job with mens cuts as well!

Ive always struggled to find someone who knows how to tame my wild Irish/Filipino hair. Not only is it extremely thick and hard to maintain, its almost impossible to color without screwing it up the first time. However, Jayme does my hair exactly the way I want it. When I tell her to trim and touch up my layers she knows exactly what I mean (in comparison to other hairdressers who go a little crazy with the scissors), and the ombre she did on me came out beautifully. Im very picky when it comes to who does my hair, but I know I can trust Jaymes hand to do an amazing job! The staff is always very friendly as well, and the place looks clean and professional. I will not go anywhere else to get my hair done anymore. Go to MJ Salon & Color Group, you will not regret it!

My picky expectations were exceeded! I went to MJs several months ago after a recommendation from a friend. Id been somewhere else and had a hair mishap (to say the least). My hair was way too dark with the ends way too light. After a consultation with Jayme we determined a highlight and toner was the best option. She explained it would even the color out and in 6-8 weeks we could recolor the shade I typically have. My "quick fix" turned out great. I ended up liking the color and highlights so much, I decided to stick with them. I just went back two weeks ago, to Monica this time, for a partial color, highlights and cut. The color looks great and its the best cut Ive had in ages. I would definitely recommend the salon.

The minute you walk into MJ Salon and Color the ladies at the front desk are extremely polite, and very accommodating. She immediately asked if I wanted anything to drink while I waited. My stylist, Monica is incredible. She listens to my wants, but also is smart enough to tell me her thoughts on what would be best for my hair. I have followed her for years and you know what its true your hair stylist becomes one of your closest and dearest friends. All the staff at MJ Salon and Color are amazing. If Monica isnt available then Jayme is my go to while she is away. Thank you ladies for always making me feel fantastic when I walk out your doors. Jenny

I have been going to one of the owners of MJ salon since she was doing hair out of her own house. I love the new salon and the friendly atmosphere. I feel like I can relax and after going to Jayme once she always knows what colors to mix and how to do my hair without telling her each time. It is nice to not worry about someone messing up your color, it is perfect every time! Fun group of people who make you feel at home and you come out looking wonderful!

After many years of trying to find a salon who understood what I wanted, I have finally found one I can call "home"! I am a layed back person and I match up perfectly with my stylist, Jayme. She always does what I ask and makes the perfect suggestions. I have been trying to grow my hair out and she has been diligent with making it look cute and stylish while in those awkward stages. I highly recommend MJ Salon and Color Group and highly recommend Jayme!
