Of the four bids we entertained, Summit Roofing presented themselves the most clearly. This continued throughout the job, which we promptly accepted after our estimator, Benny, visited. The mailed initial estimate was unusually detailed, a good thing. Not only did it include a clearly written proposal and a color/style brochure from the shingle maker, but it also had copies of reference letters, insurance and license certificates. VA Class A contractor. Other firms sent salesmen who did not really know roofing. Benny absolutely knew his way around a ladder, and had no problem adding extra line items we wanted onto the final proposal. Scheduling went smoothly, with materials and crew arriving as promised. There was a minor issue in which no eave vent materials had been ordered, but the firm was able to quickly correct the oversight, sending a truck to the depot the moment foreman Javier understood the concern. Thanks to good communication and sufficient manpower, this caused no actual delay. The job was completed in the estimated time. Kudos to the trailer trucking crew. The haul-off of the tear-off could not have gone more smoothly. The small company-owned trailer was ideal for our fairly tight, close-in property. This was not a loud and difficult roll-off job by others. New roof looks good. As normal for a roofing or drainage job that has gone well, looking forward to a hard rain to test it.

There are two types of roofing contractors - (a) the ones who want to setup an appointment to talk to you for 90 minutes and (b) the ones who ask for your address and email you your quote, and of course, will answer any questions you have. The (a) types will send you a sales guy who will want to walk into your attic and then tell you that you have mold growing, he will sell you on some fancy underlayment and finally give you a price that is 2x to 3x what it should cost. The (b) types will all come with prices within $100 of each other. Dont even entertain the (a) types. Summit is the best of the (b) type. They beat the others because they provided brand-name underlayment, starter-shingles, flashings, etc. for the same price that others provided generic ones. Summit also provided a superior warranty that others just couldnt beat. This is our second roof with Summit and they have executed a professional job each time. Call Mr. Ortiz. He will answer your questions and set you up.

Summit Roofing exceeded our expectations. We received quotes from 3 different companies prior to choosing Summit whose quote was professionally written containing all of the information including information on their company along with the types of roofing materials available to us but most importantly was also the most reasonably priced. I spoke with Joe on the phone who was able to assist with our new roof color along with providing answers to any of my other questions. Because there was a leak in our old roof, Summit was able to fit us in their schedule as soon as the materials were delivered. The roofers arrived early and started promptly at sun-up and were professional in their behavior and workmanship. They had a large staff of workers who were able to complete our project in one day and before leaving our yard was completely checked for any residual nails or debris. We received excellent service from Summit Roofing from start to finish.

Summit Roofing completed our roofing job today. We have been very happy with the entire process. We contacted them after a hail storm and their estimator, Joe, came to assess the damage the next day. He followed up with a bid and additional roofing info the day after that. He also came to the house to meet with our insurance adjuster. After that, he was very good about communicating the the timeline for our project. The actual roofers showed up promptly at 7am and started the job. The crew of 3 were all hard workers and knew what they needed to do so the roof was more than half done on the first day. Four came back this morning to complete the job. They were polite and did a great job of cleaning up our lawn after the roofing was complete. I would not hesitate to use Summit Roofing again.

They are/were the contractors that did the roofs in my development. We have a water leak in the roof when it rains hard a water spot appears. By the time someone gets out to the house its dried up and "everything looks normal". Three feet of the joint tape was wet after the hurricane in 2011. Nothing was done by the builder or the contractor. I dont even think the builder called Summit just randomly sealed spots on the roof. Now hurricane #2 2012 huge mess and 6 feet of the tape is wet and split open this there is no mistaking what happened. We also climbed up into the roof and got a video of where the water was coming from. Nice big hole in the roof. Who inspects construction for I dont know holes in the roof? They cancelled on the first appt we had to fix rescheduled, well see what happens.

Overall, a positive experience. Our complicated roof was completed in one full day. The dumpster was backed right up to our house, but even then, we found some additional roofing nails in our driveway. Joe sent a foreman back out to the house to magnet-sweep the area again. The roofing crew was professional, fast and thorough. We are waiting for the first big rain to make sure we are dry and tight, but our roof, with new ridge vents, looks great. They could improve slightly on proactive communication -- they did not let us know when materials we being delivered, and we had to reach out to them when there were high winds on our original install date -- but again, an overall positive experience for the price.

This is one of the sloppiest roofing companies I have ever seen. Instead of putting the dumpster in the driveway they put it in the street. Leaving nails in the homeowners yard to be run over with the lawnmower, nails all over the street for homeowners to drive over and nails all over the place to step on Why, because all the old shingles were thrown in the yard and hand carried to the dumpster/trailer that will leave nails on the way out also.......Roofers are suppose to use a small rolloff dumpster or a dump truck parked as close as possible so the shingles can be dropped in them. Thus mitigating the nails all over the place

We received three estimates to have our roof replaced and Summit Roofing Contractors was far more detailed and thorough than the others in addition to being the lowest bid. The materials and crew arrived as scheduled. The materials arrived 4/13 and the crew returned on 4/14 to install. They actually arrived 15 minutes early on installation day! They said the job would be done in one day and it was. They cleaned up great. The workers were courteous and professional. We would highly recommend Summit Roofing Contractors.
