This place has become a total joke. There were 3 attendants standing behind the desk today with nothing better to do then set off the stupid lunk alarm and text. Meanwhile there were weights everywhere that other members hadnt put away, trash on floor,etc. So what do they worry about? Not any of that someone breathing to hard. Yeah you heard me right not yelling, screaming, dropping weights,etc. Breathing to loud! You know what if your sense of self esteem is so fragile that someone exhaling loudly bothers you you shouldnt even leave your house let alone go to a gym. Sad because this place actually seemed to be getting better about this type of stuff. I havent seen the old manager in a few months so I guess he must have left an it shows. Place is always dirty, weights/equipment all over the floor and they even have people living in theIraq locker room and parking lot. Yep belive it or not there are people living in their cars in the gym parking lot and just buying a $10 membership so they have some place to shower and store their belongings in a locker! Hopefully someone will come along and open a decent 24 hour gym and put these clowns out of business!

What does it take to make a good gym? Plenty of machines so people dont have to stand in line waiting, plenty of room so you dont smack someone else in the face, trainers who know their job so they dont cause someone to have a heart attack pushing him too hard, plenty of staff so that if you have a question theres always someone around to answer it. Add in clean and plenty of hot water and to me thats a good gym. Military Highway Planet Fitness is all of this and more! I looked at a lot of gyms before I came here. gyms are basically the same I found as far as the equipment but theres just something about the friendliness at Planet Fitness that sold me. I feel comfortable there, the showers are clean and have plenty of hot water, and if I have a problem theres always someone there to help me with it. I have only seen an out-of-order sign on one machine once and then it was gone. Everything works everythings clean its cheap and the staff speaks English. Im happy.

Right now the greatest basketball event on the planet is on, the NBA FINALS. For the second time as a PF member the staff at this particular establishment has claimed to be unable to change one of the TVs in the Free weights area to the FINALS. This is so disappointing as a paying customer. They have 3 TVs in that area. One is dedicated to a Music/PF advertising channel and the other 2 are sports channels. Today both sport tvs had the identical MLB game on. I wish the owners number was clearly displayed because I sure would have called and complained directly to them! To make my complaint even more valid, another member also asked if the channel could be changed and the staff said "We dont know who controls the TV. We are unable to change it." Theses are kids (the staff) so there is not much frustration that you can take out on them. This PF needs to be more accommodating to its customers or Im taking my membership to OneLife!

You have to remind yourself that its cheap and thats why youre there. You get what you pay for is always true. Directly after work Mon-Thurs its always a possibility that youll have to wait for a treadmill. If you like to use mats after a work out to stretch or do push ups/sit ups/create your own workout, youre likely going to be out of luck. Theres about 3 mats for the entire gym and if theres a class going on, theres none. Ive encountered people finishing their work out in the locker room. And for some reason, they rarely turn the fans on high so it becomes incredibly stuffy and gross, even during the winter. If you can go strictly during the day or only want to use the weight machines (and usually the ellipticals have a few open), this gym will work well for you.

I love this location. Everyone who comes to this location are friendly and courteous, and I look forward to my workout everytime. I recently lost my debit card and when calling the location to see if I had lost it there the lovely staff took the time to check all the lockers in the womens changing room while on the phone with me and never once placed me on hold!! Although it was not there is was nice that they took the time to really look properly. There are a few machines that are broken and out of use that have been that way for a few weeks. Hopefully they can work on getting those fixed very soon because when it gets busy and a few machines are out of use it means waiting longer to use an available machine. Other than that no complaints !

Great gym great price, i go here for the cardio machines, 30 min circuit, tanning and massage chairs, even if you dont use the gym 19.99 a month is a great deal for just tanning. Way cheaper than the salons esp since you are not locked into a contract. The only problem i had was that you cannot cancel online or over the phone, you have to got to exact location you signed up to sign your checkout paperwork. Which i found inconvenient. But besides that my experience could not have been better, good price, super great friendly staff, clean facilities and just a great place in general.

Staff is very nice. Personal trainer is very knowledgeable . I like the location of this gym. Ive had many issues with billing causing my account to overdraft 2 times 2 days a part. Good equipment but the Beauty Angel 1 doesnt work as well as Beauty Angels 2. Both have issues (buttons not working floor not shaking properly). The massage chair by the wall doesnt squeeze your legs at the same pressure, one of the leg massagers is broken.

delay in repairs diminishes this rating..the wall clock has not been reset for weeks n weeks, standing ab machine just got replaced after cracked n worn pads for months, towel machines are often empty, no replactment of 1 rear delt rope creates unnecessary tension while waiting to share, personal trainers from outside dominating sections...but friendly service at desk

You get what you pay for. I get the business model, low cost + tons of customers + auto draft = large monthly cash flow. Its a little ridiculous though when a $15 shower fix is 3 months in the works and still not done. If youre looking for a cheap place to use a treadmill its good but if youre looking for a good gym go somewhere else.

My husband has the membership and I get to come along as a guest. The weekday is quite busy in the evening, most of the time there is a wait for equipment. We are now starting to go on a Sunday because there is not a wait for equipment. The staff are friendly here. I have not had issues, I enjoy it here.

This location is a bit older than the other south Hampton Roads locations. It is never really all that busy, however, it is compared to the other locations I have visited to be the dirtiest. Also, on any giving night, 25% of the equipment is out of service or the water fountains are broken.
