Sold our house thru Long and Foster agent Moose Valliere. Attentive, available and on the ball until we had a signed contract on our house. At this point he became unavailable, dismissive and lazy, which appears to be the normal state of things at this particular branch. We asked Moose for estimated closing costs after signing the contract, since he did not provide them and our mortgage broker for our new home needed them promptly. Despite telling him this via several emails, his response was "I dont have them but they will give them before closing". Ended up doing an end run around him to get that basic info. He could not keep track of our case and couldnt coordinate with the buyers realtor; I ended up having to speak directly to her on several occasions. Finally we were so frustrated we contacted long and foster before the closing and asked for someone to step in and replace him, listing the various issues including not having seen the closing documents... The closing itself was pleasant enough with him absent and his Broker Athena stepping in. Then the title company contacted us two days later because the commission on the docs was incorrect, shorting the buyers agent. We left a message for Athena at Long and Foster asking her what went wrong and wanting to speak with her before we paid, told the title company we were waiting to speak with her but wanted to make this right... and Athena and Moose? The people working for us? They get my VM, then call the buyers realtor and tell her we refuse to pay, shorting her thousands, without ever actually speaking to us. After calming down the tearful agent in a long phone call and telling her the truth, I left another VM for Athena telling her exactly what had just happened and how upset I was because of it. She finally bothered to call back and had someone to blame for everything. The problem getting closing docs? Title company never responded to their requests. Not according to the Title company, which logged a single request for docs that they replied to when they sent them back! The error in the commission? That was the Title companies fault too! She and Moose werent to blame because and I quote, "neither one of us had a chance to review the closing docs before you signed them." And of course she had NO idea how the tearful agent Id spoken to could have mistakenly concluded we were refusing to pay back the missing funds... but shed asked Moose to contact the agent, so if the agent was incorrectly told that we refused to pay, it still wasnt Athenas fault. At that point I contacted the Title company and buyers agent to update them on my progress as I drove to my bank. Lets just say neither one of them were surprised by the level of service I received from Long and Foster. Absolutely unprofessional, underhanded and not interested in helping their clients. I will never have anything to do with this Agency and recommend others avoid them if possible

In early January, I advertised my townhouse for rent on Zillow in order to get a feel for a reasonable rent to request. I didnt plan to show it until February. During the month of January, I talked to a man who was very interested. He called four times with various questions. In February I had an inquiry from Eugenia Sirgo at Long and Foster asking if I would be willing to pay 1/4 the first months rent if I rented to the client she brought me. I happily accepted as the standard for that service is 1/2 a months rent. I planned to show the house to the realtors renter and hoped to schedule the original caller the same morning, not suspecting they were one and the same. Before I was able to talk to the first potential tenant, I went ahead and signed an online agreement with Ms. Sirgo. But, she had disguised the tenant’s name and AFTER I had signed the agreement, his name appeared on the document. I immediately emailed Ms. Sirgo and told her I had already talked to this person multiple times. She was unmoved and clearly unashamed about holding me to the agreement. I decided that I simply would not rent to this person. However, on meeting this prospective renter, he impressed me as being a perfect tenant, so in spite of my anger at being taken advantage of by the agent, I agreed to rent to him. Note that the renter was Ms. Sirgos client yet she knowingly jeopardized his getting the rental he believed was perfect for his situation. I later asked my tenant what the realtor had said when he told her that he had already talked to me. He replied that he had only disclosed that he already knew the address and said that he had seen the property on Zillow. So, apparently she simply took the precaution of using one of his housemates names in case he might contact me. Since Ms. Sirgo was going to be paid, I let her proceed with the paper work. The first lease she prepared had her clients name misspelled (it was not a difficult name), there was a $1 discrepancy in the total rent and her computation of the partial months rent was over $200 off. I asked how she had arrived at the partial months rent figure. She replied with a total much closer to correct and provided her calculations. But, she was off one day on the number of days, so it took her three tries with help from me to get the lease done correctly.

We sold my moms place near Reston Town Center through the team of Judy Gruner and Lisa Covert. They were fabulous! Both ladies kept me in the loop on everything, they were super-responsive in getting back to me when I had questions or needed assistance. They provided prompt feedback from our open house and many of the showings. Their marketing materials were sharp, too. Do not hesitate to contact them as either a seller or a buyer. They are experienced, professional, honest, know the area, do extensive homework on comps and are tenacious. This was not an easy process yet they made it feel seamless from listing to closing.

My tenants were moving out and I had to find new tenants, get the home ready, and show. All this had to be done from my home in NYC. Megan Bailey made the entire process seamless. Not only did she screen tenants, she showed the place sometimes with only a moments notice. Megan is very knowledgeable about the area so she knew commute times for prospects as well as restaurant and grocer suggestions. Through her business, she recommended blind repairs, carpet install and cleaning services. I dont know what we wouldve done without her.

Easy parking, a little hidden behind the other office buildings, but somewhat easy access to main road so that i worth the trade. Down side is the office is not close to anything unless you drive to the reston town center or across the street and a few blocks down there are some restaurants. Nothing you can walk to though. Nice new office compared to other Long and foster offices, with a tv in the lobby, and game room, clean restrooms, and there is usually a front desk person who can help.

MEGAN BAILEY! Megan...Megan Megan! I promise you she is top shelf. She knows how to play the hand. Knows when to move (no pun intended), when to stand back. Knows the "real estate" game through and through, and holds your hand durning the entire process - even after the deal is signed, sealed and delivered.
