Although I generally dont review companies, I felt compelled to share my experience with Lauterbach Electric. My wife and I decided to completely remodel the kitchen of our 1956 home in Richmond. We also were determined to act as our own general contractor and manage the subcontractors ourselves. After locating the appropriate contractors, we began and worked through the design details with the appropriate subs. After the schedule was planned, the first electrician fell through, unable to make our revised scheduling. The plumber/carpenter we were using suggested Lauterbach Electric. I will say this wholeheartedly: I AM GLAD HE DID. After speaking with the president, Dwayne, on the phone, he showed up, thankfully, early for the initial appointment to assess the job. He not only assessed the work that he had to do, but brought clarity to what we wanted to do, suggested very positive and attractive additions and later provided us with a detailed proposal. This included no only the scope of work, but the fact sheets for all products that he suggested and would use for the job. When Kenny and partner arrived after the initial demo, I found them both intelligent and personable. They were completely communicative during the job and successfully worked around our elderly beagle dog. They showed up on time, when they said they would. They also took the job one step further and replaced all the old wiring in the walls, to ensure safety. This was beyond the scope of the job. These guys worked around the other subs without problems and communicated well with them directly as to when they were needed. We absolutely loved the results they produced. Even though my experience with electricians is limited, I would not use another company if I have the choice to use Lauterbach.

I needed an electrician to rewire a bathroom during a remodel of my 1920s home. We were looking to remove some existing knob and tube wiring and replace it with more modern wiring. Other electricians gave us quotes at several thousand dollars, insisting that my home was unsafe with any amount of knob and tube wiring. I found Dwanes number on my circuit breaker, leftover from when Lauterbach upgraded some of the wiring to Romex in the early 1980s; I decided to give them a call...and I am very glad I did. Dwane responded quickly and came out the next day (I called him over Memorial day weekend) to give me a quote. He answered all of my panicky questions about Knob & Tube wiring and reassured me that its a safe and accepted form of wiring if properly installed. Instead of trying to upsell me into rewiring my entire house, Dwane talked me out of my crisis. We would just rewire the bathroom. My house would not burn down. Dwanes guys came out within a week. They were courteous and professional and did excellent work. As luck would have it, my dryer began tripping a fuse every time I turned it on right as Dwane & his crew were planning to finish up the job at my house. I asked Dwane if hed mind looking into it while he was at the house, and he had it fixed within the day. I cant recommend Lauterbach enough. Eventually I will be updating the remaining old K&T wiring in my house. I will be calling Lauterbach for that job and any other electrical jobs in my house.

We recently hired Lauterbach to help us lower very high EMF levels in our home (which we had just purchased). Trouble shooting the cause of high EMFs is such a specialized service that we were concerned we would never find a local electrician to help us. We knew that left uncorrected these high EMFs can have negative health impacts and we were not willing to take that risk with our small children at home. We were blown away by the electricians willingness to troubleshoot, research, and correct numerous wiring errors that were found in the house, that were even missed during our home inspection! Im sure it was like finding a needle in a haystack for them but they were always very professional and showed genuine interest in correcting the problems down to a level that we were comfortable with. They were also exceptionally helpful in communicating with Dominion Virginia Power on another major electrical issue at our home, ensuring that our home was safe. Lauterbach ultimately fixed problems with our electrical systems that many electricians were not willing to even have a conversation about. This allowed us to stay in our home and we are eternally grateful. My only regret is that Google reviews only allows me to give them five stars! I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I recently had a fantastic experience with Lautherbach Electrical company. I called them around 1 pm and truly within an hour I had the pleasure of meeting the owner at the job site. He was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. The job which was somewhat of a complicated electrical job got started shortly afterwards and was satisfactorily finished. Lautherbach Electric is a place to call for any electric problem. They are professional, punctual and reasonably priced. I am a loyal consumer from now on and am very glad I have found an electric company I can trust. The other companies should learn a lesson or two from Lautherbach Electric!

Lauterbach has gone above and beyond to get someone out to our Properties for repairs, almost always the same day we call or at the very latest the following day, and for a Commercial Property Leasing company, this is a valuable trait for our vendors to have. They are friendly, professional, and will to work with you on any issues you may have. I would recommend Lauterbach to anyone needing electrical repairs...excellent company!

Dwane was very helpful in pushing up our initially scheduled appointment after our bathroom light fixture died and caused the lone socket to malfunction. The electricians were able to come in the next day, replace the fixture, fix the bathroom socket, install our new flood light, and resolve some minor issues from our home inspection in under two hours. Were definitely going with Lauterbach from here on out. Thanks again.
