Not good at all! A family friend called them to check for a leak as they had a small drip from a chase in the ceiling of the kitchen and living room. Michael and sons comes out and proceeds to turn on showers upstairs and flush toilets as one would to see if anything leaks etc.- thats a fine approach....BUT - when they begin to cut holes into their drywall in the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER I HAVE SEEN- SLOPPY, LEFT DRYWALL CRUMBS, CHUNKS, and DUST all down their staircase, in the hallway, on the front porch and sidewalk even- THE HOLE THEY CUT IN THAT CHASE I MENTIONED HAD BROKEN DRYWALL HANGING DOWN ALL THE WAY AROUND IT, and was left like that too!!! These people have a small child, and this kind of unprofessional BS needs to be addressed! Not only did this plumber actually cause MORE DAMAGE by cutting into the drywall in such a manner that -( for example) ....by the bathtub- he cut the drywall all the way over to the tile surround, and in the chase he cut all the way over to the wall, and all the way over to the corner bead on the other side- because of this lazy, sloppy, and may I add NEEDLESS way in which he did this he has caused MORE repair work which will cost the homeowner MORE MONEY to repair now AND FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!! Also - when he cut into the ceiling chase he did not lay a drop cloth and must have dropped tools and drug his ladder all over the floor as their higher end wood laminate flooring now has 3 dime size gouges in the exact place where he did his sloppy cutting etc. !!!! So after all of this cutting, making messes, and damaging their kitchen floor- THEY THEN SAY " WELL WE CANT FIND ANY LEAK- THAT WILL BE $800.00!!!!!!!!! THIS IS CRIMINAL!!! Of course I called them today to get a manager out to see their horrible work, and the damage they caused......The best I got from their " Assistant Customer Relations Manager" was this " Oh....Ok......send me some pictures" .....WHAT!!! If a customer called with a complaint you bet your butt that I would be AT THEIR HOME THAT VERY DAY JUST AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE TO ADDRESS IT!!! THAT IS WHAT COMPANIES THAT TRULY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION DO!!!! BUYER BEWARE! THESE TECHNICIANS WORK ON STRAIGHT COMISSION - so they DO NOT GET PAID UNLESS THEY ARE IN YOUR HOME " WORKING" ......this plumber that was here for nearly 4 HOURS, YES THATS RIGHT- 4 HOURS- to cut 3 holes and turn on 2 showers and flush 2 toilets - This should have taken NO MORE THAN 1 hour, maybe 1 1/2 hours IF they would have attempted to clean up the messes they made..... I wonder why then the plumber stayed there so long....HMMMMMMMM? To top it all off they found no leak.......and charged them $800!!!! I walked in and in 10 minutes knew exactly what the problem was - That chase in the kitchen ceiling that they butchered a hole into was there to frame out around the HVAC main trunk line...which was condensating... And thus dripping onto the drywall below on the bottom of the chase..... Very elementary.... " IF YOU CANT , WE CAN"? Really.....? I think its more like: " IF YOU CANT FIND A WAY TO MAKE A $200 JOB END UP COSTING $800 - WE CAN! " ... I feel like this is what they must think about their customers... " IF YOU CANT - then you must be stupid- so....WE CAN- and we are gonna rip you the heck off , because you dont anything about this stuff.....Michael and Son!! This was at MOST, AT THE VERY MOST- a $200 job MAYBE !!! For $800 I could have 3 toilets put in, and a sink hooked up, or 2 hot water heaters installed ( by a decent, honest plumbing contractor) - Michael and Son may say " well the guy was out there for 3-4 hours trying to find the leak thats why it cost so much" REALLY GUYS? 3-4 hours to check 3 places where he cut sloppy holes? Did it take him 45 minutes to get up and down the staircase each time or something.... come on!!! BEWARE- they dont care!!

I requested to be contacted for a quote via Michael and Son website because I had two faucets that continuously dripped and a toilet that made humming noises for 2-3 minutes after it was flushed. Within hours I received a call from them to set up an appt...I was impressed with their response time. My appt was between 2-6pm but they would call 30 minutes prior so I wouldnt have to sit waiting all afternoon...again, I was impressed. Nathan called at 12:50pm to let me know he finished his prior job early and could come at 1:30pm if I wanted...the earlier time worked better for me so again, I was pleased. Nathan W. arrived and immediately put shoe covers on so he wouldnt dirty up the floors. He was very friendly, professionally dressed with a company logo uniform and driving the company logo truck...I like that because that told me he is an employee not a contractor. He was knowledgeable and inspected not only the toilets and sinks that were giving me trouble but he checked all toilets and sinks, even my hot water heater. He explained everything he thought was needed and showed me what he would recommend getting done. Finally he gave his quote which I felt was on the HIGH side, but he gave me options for both major and minor repairs and we worked out a price that I accepted but was still not overly impressed with. What totally stunned me was when he said he could get it done that same day and if I had time he could do it now! I thought this appt was just for a quote and that hed have to order some parts or make a follow up appt or schedule the actual plumbers to come out, but not so...he had everything he needed on the truck and was qualified to do the work himself, so he started that moment! I was really impressed by that! Afterwards we did a walk through and the work was done perfectly. Nathan cleaned up after himself and even offered to install the new toilet seat cover that I had leaning in the corner...who does that? He was so helpful, professional and it was done so well that it made the price seem not so bad because he provided such an incredible customer experience for me from start to finish! I will use Michael and Son again and I would absolutely request Nathan again for future projects. Are they the cheapest...NO! Are they worth paying a little more...YES!

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Michael & Son. Extremely disappointed. Our air conditioner had stopped moving cold air so we called your service to help diagnose the issue since there were many hot days ahead. While the workers that came to the house were very professional they took a look at the unit and let us know we had a leak in the compressor holding the Freon. They said they were to perform a leak test for $300, which they did and found the leak and let us know they were going to seal up the leak to hopefully solve the problem. After doing so they then came to us to say our low pressure switch was bad and we had a bad circuit board that would need to be replaced before going any further. There was no mention of extra Freon being put in. The individual then tried to up sell a new compressor unit, which I understand is part of his job, since the cost would already be $1,700 to replace the parts noted and all other services performed. At this point we decided to get a second opinion before going further. During the review of the 2nd company they found the air return duck under the house had folded and collapsed on it self which was actually the problem with the low pressure. NO AIR was coming from the downstairs intake which I believe should of been noticed by the previous technician from your company or should of at the least been checked. This was an easy fix that did not require any new switches or parts. The 2nd company corrected the problem and filled the unit with Freon and our Air Conditioner has been working perfectly since. Once we called to settle up with Michael & Son for the services they performed, the bill was outrageous at $1,400 but more unethically it included charges we were not aware of. We were charged for 10 lbs of Freon that was apparently put into the system that was never told by us. I am not sure why any extra Freon was added besides that necessary for the leak test, when they noted all the apparent bad switches and circuit boards found. I am disappointed with the company and the service and will never use them again.
