My husband and I planned our wedding in just under two months. We explored several venue options between Stafford (where we live now) and Richmond (where we’re from), and completely fell in love with the Renaissance after the first visit. Tommy and Emmett were amazing throughout the entire process. Tommy was responsive to all my questions and Emmett met with me to go over all of the wedding planning details that I hadn’t even thought of. Despite it being planned so quickly, the wedding itself went very smoothly, thanks to Emmett. Emmett, Jon, and Precious took care of so much behind the scenes that I didn’t even have to worry about. Setup and cleanup were included, the food was OUTSTANDING, the ballroom was GORGEOUS, and the prices were very transparent and reasonable. The staff was so kind, helpful, and accommodating. They did everything they could to make me and my husband feel special and CALM on our wedding day. After the ceremony, we were shown to the bridal suite where there was WINE and CRABCAKES and various hors d’oeuvres waiting for us. What a pleasant surprise, just what we needed! Being a couple with a big family with lots of young kids, we had a few strange requests like setting up a play area, and at one point I remember seeing one of the staff members sitting with the kids playing in the tunnel with them. It was so refreshing. They really went above and beyond to make our guests feel comfortable. This place truly is a hidden gem. Emmett, Tommy, Jon, Precious, and all the staff at the Renaissance made this a day that I will look back on so fondly. My husband and I recommend them 100%.

The Renaissance first caught our eye because we loved the architecture. The Victorian ballroom dates back to 1887 and it is a beautiful setting. When I took my mom in to the ballroom during the cocktail hour, she said that everything was “simply elegant”. Over the years I’ve done a lot of event planning for work and worked with many vendors, but I was completely blown away by our experience at The Renaissance. Tommy Waters is an absolute pleasure to work with. He is a true professional who really knows his stuff! Planning our reception at The Renaissance was stress free!!! He guided us through what we thought we wanted to what we truly wanted, and kept us within our budget. Emmett Hickam of Richmond Bridal Consulting worked with us to make sure that the entire reception went smoothly. I’m a very organized person and Emmett really impressed me with buttoning up the details! He was on site the night of the wedding and it was flawless. Whether you are having just your reception there or ceremony too, The Renaissance is large enough to accommodate your event. It was really nice not having another event on site at the same time. The staff is focused on you and making your dreams come true. I highly recommend The Renaissance!

The General Manager of this facility Tommy, was very rude. I called to inquire some information about this facility and the gentleman hung up in my face. As I thought this was an accident I called back and he literally attacked me verbally. I have never been so disrespected in my life by a general manager. As the hotel name of "The Rennaisance" I would think they would carry their facilities name with much more class than that. The sad part is, this was recorded and I will make sure I submit it to higher authority. I wouldnt advise doing buisness with this location.

We came here for a wedding. The second floor venue itself was okay. It was spacious and had a historic feel. The building, however, was a different story. It was converted into lofts. The smell of marijuana permeated the halls and was wafting into the venue from the third floor. The seedy characters outside were making the females in our party uncomfortable. I would not use this venue in the future.

Phenomenal service, great space for an upscale fundraising event, superb staff, great food. We have scheduled our event there again next year! I would definitely recommend doing business with this venue.

Historic Masonic Temple. Great old bones in building but in bad need of updating of the apartments on upper floors. Large meeting or event space available for rent.
