The place is okay in some regards, not so good in others. I could find no negative reviews online which I found strange... Wonder if they use an Internet reputation company to whitewash things... never once did o see the gym founder and supposed master, Kru actually at the Gym. I think hes cashing in and runs things from a distance. Overall the gym seems like a very big commercial enterprise. Very crowded. Very good at selling you on the place getting you to sign that contract. Had my doubts but signed up cause I was told I could cancel at any time, and it was close to my house. Went to a few Muay Thai classes which were very crowded with teenage boys and girls. Thought I was in the wrong class at first till a few other adults my age showed up. The instructor was a very overweight female who was supposedly good in her day but now pretty sloppy looking. She was maybe trying to make up for her sloppy appearance with her large attitude because she yelled at the class the Entire time. She yelled in my face at one point and talked to me and fellow students like she was some kind of drill instructor and we were trash. It very much felt like some kind of scared straight program for wayward youth. Im a 35 yr old Special Forces combat vet with multiple tours, with a martial arts background. I didnt appreciate the berating by a fat woman with dread locks. I Came close to coming unglued but managed to keep my mouth shut. The next day went to cancel my contract but contrary to what I was told Upon sign up, I was told I couldnt. I Should have read the fine print... Bottom line, go to this gym if you want to train at a commercial crowded place with unprofessional, 2nd rate instructors who train mostly a bunch of teenagers who watch too many mma movies.

My 7 year old son started attending Outfox Feb 2016. It has proven to be the greatest decision I have made for him thus far. Before attending my son was very quiet, a loner and didnt socialize much with other kids. Being the only child in the home, his only socialization was school. He joined with two friends, and when they stopped attending he said he didnt want to leave and go with them to another school. He stated he loved Outfox. My son begged to go to the summer karate training camp, when he realized a few other kids from his class would be there. It again was a major success. Getting his yellow belt in lil-ninjas was a big celebration. From that point forward all he talks about is getting another strip to get another belt. My son has matured so much since starting at Outfox. He freely talks now to others. His socialization has increase so much. He will now volunteer for things and talks about the other kids in his class often. I must admit he was scared to move up to the junior ninjas, but after a few classes he was at ease, felt welcomed and is now back to talking about getting strips to receive another belt. My son looks up to the coaches so much. All summer he talked about coach Ricky and what he said. Now in the junior class it is coach CJ or coach Gerrett(sp ) said this or that. He loves Outfox and refuses to go anywhere else. Thanks Outfox for helping my son to grow and become more independent than when he started. Cortlen Mom

I started Training with Kru Jose in January of 2011, I had very little experiance plus i was way out of shape. With Outfox MMA Kru teaches you proper techniques that are easy to learn, plus he makes it really fun. All the fellow students are very patient as well and will help you succeed in your goals. I came into Outfox at 186 pounds 5 foot 9 and now after two months i have lost 20 pounds. my fitness level is through the roof compared to what it was. No matter your experiance level kru makes you feel that you can always reach your goals and push yourself further then you yourself thought was possible. Training at Outfox MMA has changed my life for the best, im healthier physically and mentally. If you have any fitness goals at all and are curious about marshal arts then come check out Outfox. Not only will Kru help you reach your goals you will feel like your part of a family.

My son (11 years old) has been taking MMA at Outfox for 4 years. My daughter (10 years old) has been there a little over a year now. I also have recently begun training again earlier this year. I can’t say enough good things about this MMA gym. All of the instructors are knowledgeable and very passionate about their training. They instill that knowledge and passion into their students. Me and my kids love training there. If you’re looking to get in shape and learn great self-defense I highly recommend you join this gym. Everyone here is very professional from the staff and instructors to the students themselves. Everyone is always willing to share their knowledge with each other. I have always had a passion for MMA and this gym allows me to train like the pros. I am honored and privileged to be able to train here.

The fact that you guys live in Virginia Beach and have Kru Jose teaching makes me jealous! Im sorry but I must 100% disagree with the guy that gave this academy a bad review. Nothing about this place is a rip off, actually its the best bang for the buck MMA academy in the area. I went down to train with Kru Jose Villarisco back in June of 2011 and I couldnt believe the level of his students! The skills they had were impressive and everyone was super nice to me. Keep in mind I drove 4 hours to work with OutFox MMA, that should tell you right there that this place for real. Long story short, do you want to get in shape? Learn MMA, Kickboxing? Have fun with some overall cool cats? If so then get your rear down to the #1 MMA academy in the Va Beach area!

I shopped around to many different MMA gyms in the Hampton Roads area. Outfox was my last stop. The phase "saving the best for last" is exactly how I felt when I met Kru Jose. He was very easy to talk to, and had a answer for all my questions. I was worried because I never had any type of training and I thought I wouldnt fit in with the class. But to my surprise everyone in the classes are full of support and guidance along with Kru Jose. I never felt like I was the "new guy" but immediately felt part of good group of people all with positive attitudes. I look forward to going to class, it has turned into the best part of my day.

My son went there for one day I like the introduction but found something closer to home. I was advised i could cancel with in 3days in which i followed all necessary procedures in yet they still charged me when i spoke to the rep she stated she had the dates for contract and cancellation but did not have my contract which made no sense. Follow all necessary procedures with your bank if you cancel or dont give them info because they will still charge your acct make you wait 30 days to try and charge your acct again i still have not received my refund money hungry if you ask me
