I have had children at the Gig Harbor Mini Skool since 2012, and have, overall, had a very positive experience. They are focused on a balance of play and learning, and my oldest "graduated" with all of the skills he would need to succeed in kindergarten including reading and simple math. He also developed excellent social skills, including peer problem solving, so that he was able to navigate new friendships in kindergarten and beyond. For my younger children, the school implements a variety of activities that help them explore their senses, minds, and relationships. Right now they are learning to use their words to express themselves (they are 2). The teachers are also developing the kids love of learning with dancing, stories, and art projects. The best part is that I get a daily series of photographs documenting their day. I have popped in at various times of the day, and I have found that the children are always engaged in fun activities that they enjoy and will readily participate. The only reason I give 4 stars is that there was a rough patch when the school had difficulty retaining top-quality people. However, after expressing my concerns, the school readily and openly responded to their difficulties, and after talking with other parents with kids in other schools, I learned that it was a problem facing early learning schools across the city. But whatever theyve done to rectify it, theyve done it right and have hired some excellent teachers and support personnel who engage and bond with the children. My children run into their classrooms every day and are excited to be with their teachers and friends. I highly recommend the Mini Skool. I have interviewed and visited nearly every daycare/preschool in Gig Harbor, and this is by far one of the best environments and programs available.

My daughter has been attending Mini Skool going on 2 years now. She has been having an absolute blast both educationally and socially. All the teachers & staff are incredible individuals that have now become "family like" people in not only my daughters eyes, but mine as well. The most important piece I want to share with new or interested families is that Mini Skool will provide not only a place for your child to call school, but a place that feels like a home a way from their own.

My son has been going to this center since he was 16 weeks old. The care and attention he has received from the beginning makes it much easier to go to work and not worry so much - like most working parents do. Currently he is in the 4-5 class and the teachers are absolutely amazing with this age group. They are stern, yet loving - exactly what this age group needs. Couldnt ask for a better place to leave my son for 10hrs a day.

The teachers in my sons class are very loving and caring. They make your little one feel special. They have an educational "circle-time" every morning, art projects and outdoor play area. I highly recommend Gig Harbors Mini-Skool.
