I hired Sounds Unlimited a year in advance for my wedding and from DAY ONE had an awful experience. After they were booked and had been paid our sizeable deposit, they called three separate times to "follow up" on our inquiry to see if we wanted to book them for the wedding. They had never communicated that we had already booked them! After the third call, we spoke with a manager who assured us that everything would be okay moving forward... too bad it didnt work out that way! We had paid extra ahead of time to meet in person with our DJ to talk about the event and had requested a specific DJ that came as a recommendation to us. Prior to our wedding date, we tried for two weeks to get a hold of someone other than their answering service, but were unsuccessful. When I finally received a voicemail from the DJ booked for our wedding THREE DAYS before the event, not only was it not the DJ we had requested, but the number he left was DISCONNECTED when I called him right back! It took another 48 hours before the answering service could finally connect us and we spoke with our DJ - only to find out that the one we had requested was no longer with the company! Wouldnt it be a good idea to call his booked appointments to notify them that he wouldnt be there?! So as it turns out, my husband had leave family events the DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING to talk to the DJ in order to get everyone on the same page. We actually had people show up to our wedding with iPods just in case because they had heard about how awful the service was from Sounds Unlimited. The guy that showed up to DJ the wedding was presentable and did what he was asked, but he kept announcing things at the wrong times and when he went to play the song for the father/daughter dance, it was the WRONG SONG so we had to stop everything and start over... way to go. Through the SEVERAL discussions we had with Sounds personnel over the course of wedding planning and after the event, we were horribly dissatisfied with the service we received. Especially when we had spent a couple grand on their services and only received a $50 refund for the poor service after the event. Sounds Unlimited is NOT worth the money for all the headaches they caused, especially the stress RIGHT BEFORE the wedding day. I would recommend hiring an 8 year old with an iPod before I would EVER recommend Sounds Unlimited.

I will be total honest and say this was not our first DJ choice, but I believe everything happens for a reason. The original DJ we were going to go with accidentally forgot he was booked for our wedding date and suggested we use his assistant. When I went to look at his assistants promo video on their website, it looked like he was missing a tooth and it wasnt just the lighting. So, I began frantically searching for DJs that were quickly being booked. I decided to go with Sounds Unlimited because they were our venues preferred vendor. We got them for slightly more than what we were going to pay for our original DJ and we also got an emcee with that package! We were able to customize everything! They were so easy to work. I was slightly nervous because we actually didnt talk to our emcee until about 4 days before the wedding when they are selected for our wedding by the company. I was also a little worried when I was giving the DJ our table names and he didnt know exactly who Russell Wilson was....we used Seahawk players as our table numbers. But in the end they totally came through!!!!! Our emcee obviously did his research because while he was calling our table numbers and releasing them to the buffet he gave them trivia about the players from the tables and really got our guests into it. Our music was great and they really stuck to what we asked to be played and understood our music was really important to us. My parents could not stop talk about how good he was. What I thought was the best part was he made sure my husband and I were taken care of. He told us whatever we want let him know whether it was another drink, more food, or whatever we needed, he was there to make sure we were taken care of. Our emcees wife also came and approached me after when we were getting ready to leave telling me shes in the wedding industry and that it was definitely a wedding shed remember and complimented me on how much fun I made sure to have because she could tell it was contagious to all our guests. They were perfect and Im so happy our first DJ bombed out because I dont think our wedding would have been the wedding it was with Sounds!

Excellent service from start to finish! I worked with Dorothy booking the DJ for my August 14th Wedding. She was wonderful and quick to understand my needs. We went with the Classic package and felt it was a perfect and very affordable fit for us. I allocated $2000 for a DJ and only spent around $900 for 6 hours of quality music and announcements. From there, I had full access to their online database and selected many songs that I wanted to hear (and not near) at our wedding. The selection was great, and for the songs they didnt have, I was able to provide them on an MP3 player for my DJ. Once the event drew nearer, I was put in contact with our DJ (Nate) who spent an hour on the phone with me during our first "meeting". He went through our entire event and clarified my preference sheet to properly understand what I was looking for. On the day of the event, Nate was not only prompt, but early. He called me when he arrived to let me know he was onsite and setting up. During the event, things went off without a hitch. Nate was even able to make last minute adjustments when I decided to nix a couple announcements. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Sounds Unlimited and I definitely recommend their services to any and all future couples looking for a wedding DJ! We HONESTLY got 10 compliments on how much Nate eas enjoying himself and what a great job he was doing with the music. Thank you Sounds Unilmited!!

Well, it started out OK and ended horribly. I wasnt able to reach my DJ at all to go over the list of things that I wanted. Then the day of the wedding, they were late and completely messed up the music. They played things we specifically asked to not be played and couldnt figure out how to work our ipods (this was 2007). Now, I would give them the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe theyve improved since then if they hadnt done the following: 1. Offered no apology nor tried to make amends immediately after the wedding. 2. Have called me a liar on the Wedding Wire by disputing my review and saying they never were under contract with me. Now its on me to prove that they were. Im in the process of gathering the documents and finding old credit card statements. Honestly, I had moved on and could care less about writing reviews about them. But the fact that they are so dishonestly trying to get rid of reviews would make me a bit nervous as a bride to be. Maybe theyre fine now, but I certainly wouldnt recommend them to anyone... especially if you have another option.
