Went in to get a quote from Ray on shipping some sensitive camera gear across the country (camera gear I have shipped previously with no issues). From the moment I began to place items on the desk Ray seemed less than enthusiastic about helping me. Firstly he didnt grasp that I wouldnt be shipping the gear in a large Pelican case I had brought it all to the store in, even after being told by myself and my wife three times that it wouldnt be going. He then proceeded to tell us that was a bad idea, even after being informed that was simply not an option as the person we had sold and were shipping the gear to did not want to pay for the expensive case. Instead of listening to what we needed to say, or maybe even offering up some suggestions on how we could pack and ship the gear, he just kept interjecting commentary about what a bad idea idea it was to not ship it in the Pelican case. We then offered up that we could remove the foam from the Pelican case and use it to ship the smaller items all in one box. He continued to take an extremely negative view of the situation and it was obvious his only concern was for his potential liability and pointed out that he was the owner so it wasnt going to ship without his ok, as if we had any interest in shipping our expensive camera gear in a way that was less than safe. It really was a remarkable how negative he was during the entire experience. At that point I decided Id had enough of my intelligence being insulted and being condescended to and decided to pack my stuff up and go in search of someone not at all like Ray. While beginning to pack up I pointed out my displeasure at him acting like he didnt want to ship any gear. He took the opportunity to admit that he, in fact, did not want to ship it. We travel full time and thus have to use shipping companies all over the country very often. We go to small shipping businesses like this in order to get expertise, creativity, and good customer service. Otherwise, we might as well go to the USPS if we want crappy service with a side of negativity smothered in condescension. Weve been here once before when we needed to mail some postcards and get a few envelopes (another experience that wasnt great but passable). If all you need is to buy stamps or drop off a package, Ray is your man. If youre expecting to ship something particularly expensive or need some assistance with packing, Ray lacks the requisite people skills to make that experience a pleasant one. He will, in fact, over complicate the situation by making assumptions and jumping to all sorts of conclusions before allowing you to even fully explain your request. It seems he is to shipping what finger painting is to art.

Crooks & Liars. I had a business mail box with them for 3+years. I went in one day after just paying the renewal fee, and there was no mail in my box. I asked them, and the woman tells me they closed the account and shipped all my mail to someone in San Diego who called. They refused to give me a refund, even though I just paid the renewal. I believe it was an ex employee that knew enough information, but by law they are not permitted to send anyone my business mail unless they were listed on the paperwork. They then lied to police claiming they never did it. Still thinking of suing of them. I went in again recently and asked them for a copy of my paperwork and contract (which by law they are required to give me) and she just started yelling at me. I figured I would just turn it over to my lawyers at that point. If you are a business and have your mail sent here beware - they just might send it to some stranger one day.

I will definitely avoid this place. I am not sure if this place is dealing ethically. Sometime back I sent an item to an international destination. The price on sending the item was 108.92 USD. For some reason the package was not delivered to the final destination (I think it was not their fault). I started up the inquiry with USPS to find what happened to the package. At that time, I figured out that postage on the item was 64.70 USD. When I called this place the only explanation they could give me was that this is a markup that they have (60% markup) & the customers are aware of it. I was not aware of it and I would definitely not paid 40 bucks had I known it. Be very careful of what they are charging you here.

Not too long ago I went in to Pony Express in Redmond and was immediately impressed by how I was greeted. Mike, the owner was there and greeted me warmly. I was there with my family to get passport photos. Mike took the photos himself and was a real pro - especially considering I have two little kids who dont exactly keep still very long. We waited just a couple of minutes and then Mike gave us our new passport photos. They turned out great! Mike even offered our kids some candy! :) I wanted to write this review because I support local business and I especially support businesses where Im treated well. I know this sounds a bit cliche but I highly recommend Pony Express in Redmond.

Ive been using the Pony Express mailbox services for almost two years now. I originally open my mailbox over there because it is on my way home from work. Lately, the owners changed and I find myself using more and more of their services. Everything is delivered efficiently and with a great, warm personal touch. Ive used their services for my mailbox, notary, delivery and photos and enjoy every interaction. I rarely write reviews, but this time I think they really deserve the five stars!

Mike Ahn at Pony Express in Redmond WA may just be the most ethical businessman Ive ever met. The other day I fell for a paypal scam, and tried to ship an expensive package to Nigeria. Mike smelled at rat, cautioned me, and then he flatly refused to send the package. He was totally right, I had been scammed. He saved more more than $1000. What a nice person! Ill never go to the USPS or UPS again.

I would never go anywhere else. Ive never had a single problem here: stuff gets where it needs to go every time. The staff goes out of their way to find the best, most economical solution every time. They greet me by name when I walk in. It sounds a bit crazy to say about a place thats not a bar or restaurant, but Pony Express is my favorite place in Redmond.

This place is incredible. The UPS Store tried to charge me $140 to send a guitar I sold on ebay from Seattle to Florida. Pony Express in Redmond helped me out and send it for only $65. They were extremely helpful and friendly. I will NEVER go back to the UPS store or FedEx.
