I thought bringing a photo of myself taken after a previous successful haircut (at a different place) would have been the perfect way to show how I would like my hair to be cut. Well, apparently thats too high of an expectation to have of this place. The barber, who didnt say a word and was chewing gum the entire time, left my chair pointed AWAY from the mirror (who does this?!), and didnt allow me even a single glance at what was happening. He didnt ask me how Id like the back done, sideburns, part, how Id like it styled... nothing. He just kept going and going, and chewing his gum. At the end, when, instead of turning my chair around and letting me take a look in the mirror, he held up a small hand-held one in front of me, I was overwhelmed by the disappointment. The cut looked NOTHING like the picture I showed him, and was an entire inch (if not more) shorter than in the picture (my hair was only about three inches long to begin with). Why did I pay $25 for this poor excuse for a barbershop?! Well, at least now I know to avoid it, and I really hope you will too.

After I wrote the review below, Kevin dropped me like a hot potato and I had to fumble my way around the shop to find an agreeable replacement. Then, a few months ago he fired some of the men who had been his best and most trusted employees. Larsen and Jason relocated to Emerson Salon on East Pike, and thats where I go now to have my hair cut by Larsen. The agenda at this place is about something other than barbering. ........... A few months ago, when I complimented a neighbor on his great haircut, he told me his barber is Kevin of Acme Barber Shop. I made an appointment with Kevin and I have been his devoted customer ever since. Kevin gives me the haircut I want, and I enjoy the time I spend in his chair.

Got recommended to this place, my Barber was friendly but didnt say much. It made for an uncomfortable experience. Didnt acknowledge me as far as how the progress was going, he didnt really ask much as far as what I wanted. I asked to keep my hair long, took way more that I wanted. I couldnt get his name but his area is closest to the window. When I did tell him about some of the hair being longer in some areas he just said that is just how my hair is offered to cut it but just the ones I pointed out. Also, they dont do eyebrows. Then theres the 33 dollar price tag... I just dont agree that It was worth it. I dont mind paying more, but not for such a miniscule experience.

Was running around the Hill and about to head out for the night went to Acme since it on my first stop for the night, had Larson cut my hair. He deciphered through my fog of thoughts on what I wanted to give me a great cut, was personable and was clearly product knowledgeable (not only giving me good advice but also had co-worker come up 2 times while getting cut). The place itself is actually nice and clean however it does feel a little low ceiling than regular. overall great experience though.

Emilio gave me a nice clean skin tight fade with a neck taper and straight razor clean up around the edges. Im black/white mix so I often have trouble finding a barber who "gets" how to cut my hair (Barbers in Cuban neighborhoods seem to do the best). Emilio was very professional and personable. Light conversation made me feel good about myself. Only criticism is all the Elvis pictures on the wall are kind of cheesy. Overall Im impressed, Ill go back and I recommend it to others

The fees provided in the viewmenu link are outdated. New rates as of 23 April 2016 are as follows - Haircut $33 Buzzcut $16 Straight Razor Fade $40 Neck Cleanup $8 Straight Razor Shade $45 Beard trim $16 Shave and Haircut $70 Military / Students / Senior $25 The place is a little nosiy. Walkins accepted. I was no 2 on wait list and it took me 12mins on Saturday at 4 Pm. Adam was the guy who cut my hair. Service was good and he was friendly. Will definately visit here again.

I have a friend with great hair (dont you just hate those people?) who recommended his barber to me and I was a little hesitant at first because Id been going to overpriced salon spas for years and had become a bit of a snob (dont you just hate those people?). Now every couple of weeks I sit in Salvatores chair and leave feeling fresh and clean without paying an arm and a leg. Simply put, Acme is a great barbershop and Sal is the best barber in town.

The barber who took me, Jason Armstong, seemed unable to do a beard trim. I should have gotten the hand mirror to take a better look. He didnt actually trim it evenly. I had to ask him to trim it again. I looked at it this morning and noticed there will still lots of long hairs, AND he gouged two perfectly-straight lines into the side of my beard with his clippers. Never should have been let out of barber school. Never going back.

I used to think it was worth every penny and always left with a great feeling. The past two times Ive been there Ive left dissatisfied and with a mediocre haircut. I guess it depends who you let cut your hair, and both times I got mine cut by whoever was at the chair directly behind the register. Maybe thats why, but alas, I wont be going back anytime soon. At least going to Rudys its consistently a great haircut.

Its surprisingly difficult to find a solid place to get a mans haircut at a reasonable price, but Acme takes care of the need. Best of all, you can get a straight razor shave as well. All of the barbers are friendly, efficient, and do a good job of projecting the old school "barbershop" vibe -- feel confident with anyone here. Buzzes are cheap, and the haircuts arent too much more; both are well executed.

Great shop. professional service. They were accommodating to me as a walk in on my first time there. I just moved in to the neighborhood and I have high standards for my barbers. My Barber was Julio, great dude. He took his time and listened to what I wanted, giving me an excellent cut that was better than expected. I will definitely be back.

Ive been here 3 different times, asked for the same things, showed the same picture, and not only have the cuts been inconsistent but the cuts have been below par. No point in coming here when there are better shops in the area for a lot less, Tims is my go-to now.

Amazing. Jason did an amazing job cutting my hair, took the time to do things right! He is extremely personable and knows what he is doing!! He did not rush me and made sure everything was done to my liking. I will return again. Thank you Jason!!!

I needed a last minute haircut and went here because they only accept walk-ins. The wait was unbearable (>60 mins even though there was only 1 other person waiting - on a Thursday evening), the barber was rude, and the haircut was terrible.

Bobby was everything I never knew I needed in a barber! He fixed a previous haircut for me and was very easygoing/understanding of the whole process. His chair talk was also on point! Overall relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend!
