Safe to say, anyone who claims that everything youd want to see is available streaming hasnt spent any amount of time at Scarecrow. And thats one of its great benefits; there are tens of thousands of films on offer that you didnt even know you wanted to see. Many of them rare, out of print, or only released in foreign markets, never made available domestically or online. An irreplaceable resource, super-informed staff, just a damn great place to discover movies! Especially on two-for-one Wednesdays! Helpful that theyre open until as late as 11pm on some nights too.

My favorite video store to go to. The best place to get really hard to find titles. I took a class on the history of animation once and they were an awesome place to find titles that you wouldnt find elsewhere. I went in there recently and got a lot of great deals on blu-ray titles that I have been wanting to buy. Also they do a much better job then Amazon at obtaining hard to find titles. Amazon wanted $300 for a rare Japanese import but I checked out the same blu-ray out at Scarecrow for $2! Scarecrow doesnt do the same supply and demand scams as Amazon.

We have been coming here since we moved to Seattle and we never leave disappointed! The staff are friendly and well-informed and they have a massive selection of movies for everyone, from family to adult and VHS to Blu-Ray, with new releases added seemingly each week. The prices are also reasonable considering you get a movie for multiple days and you are directly helping a local business. There is something nostalgic about wandering a store for a movie that is lost at a box. Make sure to go on Wednesday, where certain movies are buy 1 get 1!

Ive heard it described as the Alexandria Library of home video. Im just guessing at the Alexandrias collection but if its anything like Scarecrows thats darned impressive. They own copies of films that Im sure are the last known copies in existence. So its really more like youre checking out documents of history than just films (which is why some require a deposit, so just understand that). They also have great merch, from pop culture toys to vinyl soundtracks to shirts and have movies running in their screening room every day of the week.

Me and my boyfriends favorite place. We go there every week, sometimes, more than once a week. And we always get lost in there, is like an amusement park for us. All the employees are always nice and up to help us in everything we need. My boyfriend, once forgot to take a couple movies back for about a month and he was always renewing, when he finally got the movies back, they charged him a smaller amount, cause we are always there. So, yep, we do love this place. Whatever youre looking for, youre probably gonna find it there.

If you are a resident of Seattle and have not been here, I would highly recommend you do. A now non-profit, Scarecrow is a holdout of the physical movie rental era that has the best collection I have seen. It has all sorts of genres and I have not been there where I have not found the movie I was looking for. Scarecrow offers buying movies, renting, snacks, and a small movie room for cozy screenings that they host and you can rent. Would highly recommend stopping by and supporting this gem.

Like everyone says great selection of videos - bit expensive in the day of streaming most videos run for about $5 for a week. I knocked off stars for the staff, seems like every time I go in I am inconveniencing them. I did not ask them a single question, found the video myself, I still felt like I was interrupting their day or something. They were slow/unwilling to even come out of the back to let me pay and when they finally did they did not say a single word.

What an incredible gem. We stopped in because local friends recommended it and we could have stayed forever. Such a huge selection with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. Made me miss the old days of blockbuster and the guy behind the counter who knew the great move you just had to Check out. A must visit

10 stars. If you love movies, Scarecrow alone is worth a trip to Seattle. Cant say enough great things about the ENORMOUS selection. Think of a movie, no matter how obscure, they got it and it is probably one of the few left in existence. Please support them if you love unique, old, or cult films.

Scarecrow is so unique I would consider it beyond a star rating of any kind. I have never not been able to find a video there, even for old and obscure movies. Their selection is amazing. And even better, theyve managed to acquire a generally knowledgeable staff.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Have never gone wrong here. I especially love that i can rent the latest season of a TV show on blu-ray for a week for about $10 where as you go anywhere else you and have to pay $4 per disc and only have them for a few days.

What a great, great place. Its absolutely amazing that a video store even still exists, much less one that still carries VHS. Im a complete sucker for movies, and places like Scarecrow that still value non-streaming, non-HD content is wonderful.

This place has every movie you are looking for. If they dont have it on DVDs they got it on vhs! Yeah not to mention t-shirts art, some music, toys, and aloft more stuff I cant think of at the moment! All I can say is this place rocks

Weekly childrens hour of read-alouds, short kid-friendly videos from around the world, and a craft session. This combined with their world renowned video collection and being a non-profit makes Scarecrow video very loveable.
