I was laid off after 18 years at the same employer. Even if you are not collecting unemployment benefits, you can take advantage of the resources at WorkSource WA. The folks at the North Seattle office are terrific. The workshops are fantastic. Be sure to take all of them, and be sure to take the Orientation and Resume workshops from Karen Kirgues. She is rock solid. My resume and cover letters improved 1000% and within a very few days of submitting my new and improved resume and cover I had a job!

Staff is very helpful. Lots of computers to choose from and even a fax. There is no scanner.
