HAIR: First of all, I used to get my hair done here, as I moved from Seattle and places to get your hair done in Kitsap county are limited. I asked my stylist if she knew what a balayage is. She confidently said she did. I explained to her what Id like done. She completely fried my hair to the point pieces broke off and to top it off, she had no clue what a balayage was, as she bleached the entire bottom half of my hair. It looked awful and I was embarrassed to go outside with it. I reached out to the owner to get my money back, as I immediately needed to fix my hair, but there was no way I was letting them fix it. She asked me to send photos and gave me a portion of my money back. Lesson learned, as I never returned there for my hair. PEDICURE: I booked a pedicure, which was generally speaking okay. They put you in a tiny room with the door shut (the room is literally about 6 feet long), so as you can imagine, its very uncomfortable to breathe. I had to keep asking the lady to open the door, as I was getting light headed. The rest of the experience (when she finally left the door open) was pleasant. However, at the very end she told me I couldnt wait to let the polish dry, as she had to leave and theyre closing. Of course, it was super wet so I scuffed it getting into my car. Why book an appointment where you cant even let your client wait 5 minutes to let the polish dry? I gave up on pedicures. Apollo Nail Salon down the street is half the price and twice as better. MASSAGE: Okay, here is where I gave up on this place. Ive been going to Angela, but I think everyone has figured out Angela is the only good masseuse there, so shes become increasingly busy and its hard to get in with her. The last time I got a massage was my first prenatal massage (unfortunately, I took their word for scheduling me with someone other than Angela and said this woman was really "great"). The masseuse moved the chair around (like the last reviewer mentioned) non-stop. She breathed very heavily and frequently stopped in the middle of the massage for several minutes. At one point, I had to look up to make sure she was okay. She said "oh, sorry" as if she had forgotten she was supposed to be giving a massage and was taking a break. What do I do? Two months later, I give then yet another chance. When I called to make the appointment they told me Angela wasnt free, but there was someone else that was just as great and Id just "love" her. Well, I told them to make sure it wasnt the same person I saw last time and they looked in the file and it was indeed the person I saw last time. That should have been a warning sign, but I was desperate since my back was killing me. Then they scheduled me with someone else and I had to ask over the phone if it was a male. Not a big deal, but the fact that they didnt offer that information and I had to ask is unprofessional (see review below from other reviewer). I cant speak for his massage techniques, but when I got up to the room, there wasnt even a pillow. He told me I could use the face crate to lay my head in. For pregnancy massages, you have to lay on your side and the face crate is already lower than the table, so he was asking me to lay my head a good 4 inches lower than my neck (and on its side)! Really? Does that seem okay to you as a masseuse? I tried just for the heck of it and it hurt pretty bad. Then he proceeds to tell me that they dont have any pillows, so they put sheets in a pillow case to go between my legs. LOL! I walked out and told the receptionist to cancel my appointment. Of course, she is very nice, but I would never go back here again. I asked for the owner to call me, as I took time off work for this appointment and I drove all the way from Bainbridge. I doubt I will get a call. Just beware that when they say "oh this person is fantastic". Id highly recommend going elsewhere and save your money. This is the worst place Ive ever gone to and I only gave them chance after chance out of pure desperation.

I would probably recommend this place for coloring, but if you are going there due to a bad bleach job on your hair and your trying to darken your hair, the color will probably come back within two weeks, something about the formula that doesnt stick well, since Aveda uses "natural" ingredients. For this specific location, the service was fast for hair, I believe it only took about 25 minutes to have a full updo, I did not elect to have a wash and blow out as that costs extra. So I give kudos on that. I dont feel that the makeup service there is worth it. While I was late to my appointment the lady that did my hair brought me up to speed and gave me time to spare. The makeup wasnt terrible but was not worth over 45 minutes of my time, I feel a good makeup job can be done at max in 20 minutes (pushing it, really should be under 15 minutes) I was running late to an event and the lady named Meg who did my makeup took a lunch while I was doing my hair, and I sat in a "relaxation room" for over 15 minutes waiting. I didnt do much relaxing knowing I had to be somewhere. I dont feel the service was worth paying in total $98, they do offer military discount which without that total wouldve been $106. Priority of customer needs to be taken into better consideration, its not a medical office, there is no reason to be subject to such long wait times.

I used to go here regularly, but I fear theyve started to think a little too highly of themselves. I stopped having my hair styled here after a few poor cuts, then a truly horrendous, extremely overpriced coloring. Now Im happy with my expert, reasonably priced stylist at a different salon, but I wanted to have a waxing appointment before vacation. I arrived early, but even once the time of the appointment had come and gone, bordering on 20 minutes with absolutely zero information as to why there was such a delay, I approached the counter and she kind of shrugged. I said that I would need to reschedule, but she told me that they had no further appointments until next week. No explanation as to why the delay, no offer to call me if another appointment became available -- just the shrug and "okay." Happily, I made an appointment around the corner, saw that the reviews put the new place quite higher in professionalism and customer satisfaction. Plus, they are FORTY dollars cheaper -- bye Seaport, this time forever!

My daughter was recently married and she booked Seaport for hair appointments for herself and all of her bridesmaids. I would recommend that a bride-to-be do a practice run on the hairstyle she wishes for her wedding day. My daughters stylist was very friendly and listened carefully to what my daughter wanted. The end result was very pretty but it fell apart after only an hour. The "earth friendly" products were not appropriate for a syle that needed to last hours. The manager understood our concerns and promised that they would use stronger products on the day of the wedding. My daughters hair was beautiful during the reception and wedding. However, the bridesmaids styles fell apart before the pictures were finished. Im assuming those "stronger" products were not used. If you go to Seaport for your wedding hair styling be sure to tell them to use the stronger products on the entire wedding party!
