Im a member at LA Fitness and I paid for a year member ship up front. Im a seasonal Firefighter so i have to travel allot for work. I tryed to explain to them that im going to be leaving for work soon and i would like to know what i can do about the months i have already paid for. all the front desk people would say is i can give them more money to put it on hold and keep doing so till i can come back. So i tried to talk to the professional thiefs behined the desks to the left that care nothing for your problems because they have your money already. So i know i cant get my money back im ok with that, But i asked since i will be gone can you change the name on the account to my wifes name so she can come and work out wile im gone and use up the rest of my membership. All they would need to do is change the name, no money lost for them and he said no. Another man walkes up and starts asking me if i want to get my wife a free trial so the man I was talking to sees his chance and just walks away from me with out trying to help me or work something out in the middle of a conversation. Their staff is rude to the point of not even wanting do deal with you. They treat you like youre stupid. When they do talk to you its for a way over rated personal training that is way to expensive. All i wanted was for the 200$ membership i already paid for to not go to waste and to transfer it to my wife. But caring for customer satisfaction is clearly not on their agenda list I can see from all their reviews.

I have previously held memberships in three US cities, as well as in Spain, Ecuador and South Korea, and this is BY FAR the worst gym of them all. To begin, the membership costs do not make sense, as if you look at the price structure, there are in fact no savings at all. Second, there are only a few communal TVs--suspended WAY out in front of the treadmills, etc.--and you can only hear them through a personal mobile device. Of course, you would think, then, that LA Fitness would provide Wifi service so you dont have to waste all your plans data, but they do not (even though the membership cost is QUITE high). Thirdly, this gym offers the EXACT SAME class (spinning) every day at 5pm--high-traffic time--so you have no post-work options, despite the largest class room lying dormant at that time. It should be said that I pointed out ALL of these issues early on, but was laughed off by MULTIPLE staff. I would absolutely NOT recommend LA Fitness Hazel Dell until the above issues are (supereasily) remedied. Find something less crowded, less expensive, and more serviceable to its members.

***Letter sent to LA Fitness Headquarters 10/26/14 Hello, Were members of the Hazel Dell Vancouver, WA club. We have not been attending the gym nearly as often as we like over the past year simply because its depressing to drop our 2-year old off at the Kids Club knowing that likely he will just be placed in front of a TV or given the choice to play with broken, dirty toys. We usually find him staring out the window...and its just a sad sight for a very active, outgoing child. Why not offer a play/tumble gym area for them or better yet, teach them fitness?? You are a fitness/health club. These children could be your future clients/members once they become a teenager and beyond. As a mother and father, its hard to spend time away from our son to go enjoy a workout knowing he is bored sitting around waiting for us to finish so he can "go play". The Kids Club should be all about healthy - active play. Can you please, please consider this! It would be a WONDERFUL selling point to all the members who are parents - we would be willing to pay extra for this benefit. Thanks!

Free guest pass = $15 to at the door Im not sure about other LA Fitnesses; however, Id avoid the Hazel Dell location. I was visiting Vancouver with family and opted to check them out. Ive never been to an LA Fitness. The Hazel Dell management turned me away in a most unfriendly fashion. On the Web site you can get a free guest pass good for three days. When I arrived, I was told it is only valid for people who live within 20 miles of the gym. I pointed to the paperwork and said it doesnt say anything like that in the disclsoures on the pass. The very condescending response - "Well, its on the Web site." - After I had to leave, I checked the Web site, and nothing was said about location or 20 miles, just a free guest pass good for three days. They did give me an option to stay, however, I would need to pay $15. I cant imagine how bad their customer service is for their customers based on how they treated me.

I have been using this club for 4 years and I have a good experience. The staff in the kids club are amazing and both my children enjoy playing while I work out. The prices are low and the facility is clean. It is a busy club and I still am able to use all the equipment and find an open lane in the pool when I am working out. I do agree with other reviews in regards to the free initial training session. I was told that this would be an opportunity to lean about how to use the equipment and how to work out to achieve good results and I was extremely disappointed. This was a one hour hi pressure sales pitch. The salesman/trainer was aggressive and rude and arrogant. If I have any questions about the equipment or gym I have found the community of other members very friendly and helpful. The classes are also great.

I have to give it a 3. I am currently a member and really like working out at the club, but had a HORRIBLE experience when I was invited to come in for a "free training session" which turned into an hour long sales gimmick intended to get me to sign up for overpriced training. I have worked out for a long time and know what I need to do, but thought maybe I could learn something new from the trainer. Boy was I wrong, and humiliated by him. His whole goal was to make me feel unfit by having my do insanely difficult exercises in order to prove that I NEEDED training or I would be on my deathbed. I hate it when I actually see that manipulating manwhen I go work out. I try to avoid him. Otherwise, I really like the gym layout and sauna. Too bad they close so early on Sat.

Worst club/chain EVER! Had a serious safety problem of a big bulb cover hanging loose in the gym that didnt get fixed, or even closed off, for two months when I finally complained about it too. Just like no hair dryers replaced, the worst janitor Ive ever seen, using a locker to hide a camera in there to photo men naked!! So, the pervert janitor gets a locker FT that he doesnt even use, then cuts off others locks and throws them away. The clown doesnt even clean it right, the hot tub has weeks old bandages all over it ALL of the time, its far too crowded, hair dryers are gone for a year now with no replacement in sight, only one volleyball court thats never set up on time. CORPORATE IS THE WORST EVER, FULL OF INTERRUPTING PUNKS AND LIARS.
