Im adding my complaint regarding the EXCESSIVE noise from the private pool party that went from the afternoon through late evening on Sunday August 17th. Its apparent to me that the owner of the PAC has total disregard for the neighboorhood in which he has his business. The PAC is surrounded by residential apartment homes and single family homes, plus several senior living facilities; but that apparently it didnt matter to the owner. The pool party went through late Sunday evening; but the fact that many people get up early Monday morning for work apparently didnt matter to the owner. I wonder how a business owner, who displayed such total disrespect for the MANY potential future customers that make up the neighboorhood on Sunday, treat his paying customers? If I had any inclination of becoming a member of the PAC that idea has been totally squashed.

I live in an apartment complex directly next door to this "business", and I use that term loosely. Any established, credible business would not have allowed ear-splitting, vulgar music to be blared all day on Sunday, August 17. I have two very young, impressionable children who could hear every inappropriate word and theme even from our APARTMENT unit. I am upset and angry at this blatant disregard for anyone elses comfort and feelings in the vicinity of this establishment, and although this gym is literally next door to my place of residence, I will happily avoid patronage and deliberately drive out of my way to give my business to someone respectable. If youd rather not work out to extremely loud, obnoxious, and offensive music (thats torturing all of the surrounding neighbors), then take your business somewhere else!!

The Crowning Jewel of the Portland Athletic Club is the tennis instructor Jensen Clarke. He is a wonderful teacher. He can break down the motion of each stroke and communicate each part clearly and in a positive way that produces results. He is enthusiastic about teaching, and it shows. he is attentive and has always devoted every moment of my lesson time to me. He is inspiring to watch. Ive watched him teach young students, and his good manners, tennis etiquette, and patients impressed me. hHe is also genuinely a nice young man. A lesson with Jensen is time and money WELL spent!

Jensen Clarke is the best instructor i have ever had the privilege of taking lessons from. The club is lots of fun but not the best. Jensen is really what makes this club so great. He knows what hes talking about and is a very good instructor. If you take lessons from him you are guaranteed to improve your game. Jensen once fought a tiger with his bare hands... That tiger now lives in a petting zoo.

I live in a nearby apartment, about a block and half away. They have been playing music so loud I can hear it in my apartment with the windows shut. I went over to ask them to shut it down, where a you man claiming to be the OWNER refused. Ive measured the volume at the property line at 88 decibels, the Title 18 limit is 60 decibels.

I really like PAC. I moved away from tennis some years ago but I find the cardio and weight facilities to be exactly what I am after and very much to my liking. Ive found the staff to be responsive and friendly, the hours are well suited to my schedule, and the charges very reasonable. A very good club.

I love the indoor tennis courts at Portland Athletic Club. The surface is great and very well lit. Also, they have a great work out area, so I can get a work out in as well. There is lots of staff around to help and answer questions. If you play tennis, this is a great club.

The only reason that this is a one star rating in because the pool is closed off from free swim and is now for swim lessons only. I have been going there for years to swim and now I cant, please reconsider this arrangement and reopen the pool for free swim as well.

I enjoy taking lessons from Anthony. He doesnt change technique immediately. He spends time watching your current style of playing and then make necessary adjustments. You will know the different when the "L" (loses) become "w" (wins).

For 25+ years, the owner refuses to make improvements. Poor parking, poor lighting on the tennis courts, bathrooms falling apart. Owner has the gall to pull up in his expensive cars while his athletic club turns its back on its members.

Very unhelpful staff. Poor amenities.. Only one focus- the court. I thought this was an Athletic Club?
