The club has a rich history and a beautiful facility. It provides the members with high quality equipment, classes, meeting rooms, restaurants, and view of Jeld -Wen park. You can even see TImbers games from the balcony. Although it does require a membership, this is to ensure the safety of the kids and families that attend the club. For this reason it is also a premier networking opportunity as most of the members are well connected in the business community. Not everyone that is a member is extremely wealthy, however. Many have passed the memberships down from kids to grandkids and its a community of people who put a high value on family and community. The Mac has many social outlets as well, from cards to teen dances, to Celebration of Life gatherings, to providing rooms for medical professionals to meet and discuss work. There is extensive facilities as well such as a rock climbing wall, three swimming pools, an indoor track, 9 tennis courts that are well maintained indoors and out, handball, squash, racquetball courts, a child care facility, three restaurants, great classrooms, and many other features such as open gyms, a gymnastics team, and pianos to be played whenever a member feels like it. Theres some serious old school charm here. The staff is screened extensively for customer service standards and background checks and only the highest, most impressive get chosen. Overall, the MAC isnt for everyone because its high quality and you pay an appropriate price for that. However the benefits far outweigh the downsides.

A huge facility with everything you need to stay fit the way you want to - 3 pools, racquetball, handball, climbing gym, track, tennis and basketball courts, etc. the Mac has a great sport pub and fine dining in addition to beautiful meeting spaces and family friendly events. Tough to get in and a high initiation fee but monthly dues are extremely reasonable for everything you get.

I worked here for years, love the place. The first thing everyone says is how fancy and expensive and nice it it. This is all true. Yet, the staff is paid very, very little. They work very hard to accommodate everyone from formal to summer camp. And they mostly enjoy it, too bad the trickle down economic plan didnt work within this place

I attended a Diana Stobo event here and learned a lot about the MAC club after attending. It is a very wealthy wealthy athletic club. Community events if publicized are worth going to, their meeting rooms are gorgeous and staff is very nice and accommodating. I think their website could use a lot of work though.

Great club and facilities. However, was less than impressed by their staff, one of whom stole a couple bicycles from us. Norman Rich is their general manager was aware of the situation and wouldnt assist. Youre probably fine if you join, but consider the risk of if you have any problems at all.

This is a place with tradition and heritage of Portland and athletes. They have an excellent chef and a rotating seasonal menu all year long, celebrating many holidays and special events. There is a fancy restaurant, a sports pub and there are even seats overlooking the soccer stadium.

The best facilities in town, that said, how much money do you have, or will you make, or can you make? Do you like the idea of having your child inherent your gym membership? If you answer yes then this place is perfect for you, but Portland might not be.

Great facility. However, the people who are members are some of the most entitled, ignorant, pompous and vacuous people known to the state. Thats saying a lot, Ive lived in LA for years and these MAC-holes take the cake!

I came here for a charity auction and talk about a cool facility! I would love to be a member! There are so many amenities, from a bar and restaurant to gym facilities to banquet halls. Such a cool experience!
