Horrible company! I used them to manage my place for the last year and they rented my house for less than I asked them to, without my consent-I was told their contract states they can negotiate rental prices! Their communication is also god awful! Dont except to get return phone calls or email responses for days. The quickest response Ive ever gotten from them is when I complained to the BBB, theyre sure quick to respond when it comes to that! They asked if I wanted new smoke detector and co detectors in my home midway through and I told them no I would handle this. They went ahead and did the job anyways and charged me $181 for it. When I questioned why they did this when I told them I would handle it, they told me I was lucky that they did do it because my co detectors went off a few weeks later for a possible co leak. I of course had a working smoke detector and co monoxide detectors in my home already-in fact when MPIs inspector goes through prior to renting it, it is protocol to have those prior to renting your property. The fact that they acted as if they did me a favor shows the scum bags they are. My tenant was consistently late on rent, short, and hadnt made a water payment. I asked to evict her and paid the $275 to only find out that they didnt do this and settled in court. The tenant remained at my property and continued to be late, short of payments and water. Upon move out the tenant left the place with damage. The inspector left 70% of the items conventially out of the estimate totaling the damage to only $351. There was damage to 5 doors, a 4ft patch of paint missing on the wall, crown molding chewed up, dryer door yanked off, storm door glass was coming out of the frame and had been taped on. All of these items were left out of the estimate! I had to complain and send pictures for them to readjust the estimate. The 2nd time around they continued to leave items out. It took 3 times of complaints and pictures for them write everything that was justified on the estimate. In the end the estimate went from $351 to the full security deposit. How can a company accidentally leave all of those items out of an estimate? Seems they were trying to hold money for themselves! Stay away from this company. They are liars, and a bunch of scum bags

Worst experience I have ever had with a renter. The house was infested with mice. I had to exterminate myself. After the poison ran out the mice came back more than before. All they would say is "Well its a old house its going to have mice." Like its normal to live with mice. Also told me all they will do is lay traps. I went down to the basement after the winter, since it was cold down there because the maintenance man put a cardboard box over the broken window(that was broken when I moved in) to find rat droppings. Then the maintenance man would show up weeks after being called. The window pain was hanging off the building. A really safety hazard since the building is on a busy street. Then the owner has the nerve to call me about snow on the ground that the city would plow in front of the house after I shoveled worried about being fined and sued. Which I was being fined 20 bucks on the water and waste bill. Then my gas and electric bill was 500 dollars a month because they only replaced the downstairs windows. Me and my kid had to stay up stairs all winter. Covering the windows didnt work because there were a ton of windows in the place and the air was coming from the basement and the basement was infested with mice, rats and spiders. A black widow during the winter. On top of all that the windows down stairs except for 4 didnt open. They were either nailed or painted shut. I complained and complained about the building, the yard, insects, mice, just everything. They neber did anything about or even return my call. Then finally when I had the chance to move I left. They acted surprised that I moved. They charged me 56 dollars for 2 blinds, 12 for bulbs that I replaced in the first place, and a light dome, which I know nothing about. Plus 240 dollars for a yard clean up and the yard was messed up when I moved in. Nearly half the trees had dits and they were infested with bugs. Just never ever rent from this place. It was hard finding a place in Milwaukee. Matter of fact they were the only ones that answered the phone. But after you move in they stop answering the phone. I was a good tenant, paid my rent on time didnt cause any problems or destroy the house. Yet and still they dont do anything to take care or fix the properties.

WORST place I have ever rented from, will never rent from them again. I moved in December, at the time my daughter was 6 months old. For about the 1st 2 weeks atleast our heat was not properly working and we had to constantly keep calling to have them come fix it. They did not care what so ever that there was an infant child there and we needed heat. The 1st week we were there we had no hot water, they said they would send someone, but they never did. If we ever had issues on the weekend it was impossible to get the on call maintenance person there, emergency or not, we were not even able to get ahold of anyone if it wasnt normal business hours. We had issues with our garage door, a couple times we could not get it open to get our vehicles out and missed work and the said they werent going to put the money in to fix it. Our dishwasher did not work and collected water, after time it ended up leaking all over our kitchen floor, which by then the water was stinky and mold growing. Not to mention it was by the holidays and took 3 weeks for them to replace it. The upstairs tenants had toilet water flood and it leaked nasty toilet into our apartment and it took all day for them to come. Then to find out the upstairs tenants had be complaining about it for weeks. When it came to getting our security deposit back they charged us for things like light bulbs and painting, when the walls hadnt even been painted before we moved in. I am just thankful to be out of there and no longer have to rent from them. Giving them 1 star for this review is even giving them too much credit, the only good thing to say is the lady in the office I talked to, Lorene I believe or something close to that, was extremely nice and helpful at the end when I was trying to get my deposit back after they screwed up our forwarding address so it took an extra week to receive our check.

I have been with MPI since 1998 which says something in itself. I started with one problem property and although my experience has not always been 100% positive, they have always been professional and trustworthy. I have seen them grow from a small cluttered office/warehouse with a few people to a complete, fully staffed operation with a very impressive facility. I now trust them to manage all of my rentals. I do most of the maintenance and apartment prep myself. They forward all requests to me and I decide if I want to take them on or not. They have been a great partner that way. I have been generally pleased with the work they do and there prices are not out of line. They also do a good job at keeping me legal and compliant with city government. They havent always placed stellar tenants but then again, my properties arent exactly Park Place. I cant help but think that their new professional facility will attract better quality tenants.
