Im sad to say I have to echo the poor reviews that others have written based on their unfortunate experience. The drivers are supposed to call when theyre on the way to the location. They did not. They just simply showed up. No big deal I suppose. I had done a good majority of the work already having packed things into boxes and making multiple runs in my car to my new house to expedite the process. What I didnt take I put into a nice pile in the garage. We walked through the house and I very clearly pointed out everything that needed to be taken. While initially there was some semblance of care being taken, that pretty quickly degenerated. Rather than carefully carry things or put them on carts and dollies, items were picked up by hand - which resulted in my desk being dented when one mover swung it into a beam in my garage. Boxes clearly marked "fragile" with irreplaceable art created by a family member were picked up and slung over a shoulder rather than carefully wheeled to the truck. Halfway through packing I again asked if they knew what needed to be taken and clearly pointed out all the things in the garage that needed to be loaded. Guess what? They left them behind much as other people have noted in their reviews. On arrival to my new house, things continued to spiral downward. They cracked an entry-way tile, they broke the side of my heavy wood armoire, then dented a doorjamb. They couldnt negotiate a doorway with my couch (which happens, I understand) but rather than stopping on the first try and reassessing for a new plan, they tried to force it 3 more times, scratching the wall, scraping paint and wood off the doorjamb which clearly is not also good for the back of a couch. I was asked where I wanted the large furniture items, but all the boxes were summarily dumped in the garage without inquiring where to put them - even though they were clearly marked and labelled. I was so disgusted at this point I just wanted them out. They then had the opportunity for redemption - I asked them to go back to the house to retrieve a bulky item that didnt fit the first time. Did they make things right and pick up the leftover items that they left? Nope. Just left them there. I paid for an extra hour so they could bring a tv and 2 rugs and leave other items behind. In a huge truck that was now empty. Are you kidding me?!?!? I had to acquire a truck and make two more trips to get what they left. My hope is that they will refund me that last hour. Its pretty ridiculous. Im glad other people had good experiences but mine was a disaster. Well see what they do to make it right but as it stands my advice to the reader and that I will tell everyone else I work with at UAB is to USE SOMEONE ELSE!!!! It seems their employees will pick and choose what items to move and where to move them to. Very sad. Wont ever use again.

I hate that I have to give them a 1 star rating...Google should have a zero star. I booked these folks April, 2016. 4 men & 2 trucks. When I booked the move, I stressed to them I had $1,000 to spend and not a penny more. I moved from a 1800 sq. ft. house to a 1500 sq. ft house about 4 miles apart from one another. The men repeatedly REFUSED to use a dolly opting instead to each carry 1 or 2 boxes at a time. They strolled rather than walked. They stopped often to gossip about the member of their team that wasnt in the room. I am a military widow & I know how to pack. Everything that would fit in a box was in a taped box & the top was OVERLY clearly labeled as to what room it belongs in & whether or not it was fragile. End of the day what should have taken 4 hours took 8. What should have been an $1,000 move turned into a $1650 move. They blocked my doorways with heavy furniture & I couldnt get into those rooms to get boxes & had to pay a neighbors grown son to come over & clear pathways for me, they broke my grandmothers dresser, they broke antique china, they broke frames to my pictures, they broke a dining room chair...the list goes on and on. Because they stacked heavy boxes of books on top of boxes CLEARLY marked China, they broke so many items that I dont have room to list them here. Also, because they refused to work faster, I was forced to leave items at the old address. When I called them to complain, I was told someone would call me back....no one ever has. I was not given an apology but was told by "Nick" that he would talk to the movers on my job & get their side of the story & then would call me back....no call. I felt as if my stuff was being held hostage because they refused to even open the truck at my new address until I paid them in full. After they left, I cried because they had me so upset. I will NEVER use this company again & I will tell anyone who is willing to listen not to use them either.

So many reasons for one star. Ill start at the beginning. I was recently quoted an estimated price based on our move across town. I was told it may be smarter to rent two trucks as they should finish around 12-1pm. In reality, the trucks did not finish until 4pm - so we were charged $800 more than I was told to expect over the phone. I would not have chosen two trucks if I had known the extra cost would be so high. Secondly, there were several items damaged during the move. My sons dresser was completely destroyed. The movers said absolutely nothing about the damage, but I found out within an hour of them leaving. There were also two large toy shelves in the playroom that are barely staying together. This was all caused by the movers picking up these heavy items by their tops instead of supporting the weight from below as well. I didnt bother mentioning the two shelves, but I expected to be paid for the dresser. In an email from Two Men and a Truck, I was told that their policy was to "compensate actual cash value for an item that is damaged if it is deeded a result of our services." The dresser cost $220. And it will cost the same amount to replace. I was told I would receive $120 because that is the price for the same dresser on ebay that is cracked and missing pieces. My dresser, however was barely two years old and in perfect condition before the move. In short - they do not care about taking care of your furniture. They didnt protect our floors. And their customer service is pathetic. We will never recommend Two Men and a Truck to anyone. Save your money and look somewhere else.

The guys that moved us were great. However, we were very disappointed in the companys response to our attempt to make a claim. We had more broken furniture after this move than any other move we have made before. We were not attempting to file a claim for the full amount of the damages on the estimate we obtained from the furniture repair company, but only the cost of repair of a couple of pieces that we were certain were broken as a result of the move. We did not know how much the repairs would be until we obtained the estimate, and we were shocked at the extent of the damage and the cost of the repairs. After several telephone calls requesting someone to call us about making a claim and no returned phone call, we gave up; that is, until I saw that they advertise only 1% of claims made. We also had taken out the extra insurance. It is true that we were past the "fine print" time limit when we contacted them about making a claim, as it took longer than 96 hours to obtain an estimate of the damages. We were aware that some of the damage was due to the age of the furniture, and we wanted to be fair about the claim. However, it took too long to the get the estimate, and no one gave us the benefit of giving an explanation. So I guess that is one way to keep the claims down to 1%.
