Follow Up: I have upgraded my rating because of the following. I got a call from the owner Joe, who was incredibly courteous and apologetic for what the movers did. He let me know that he did some additional training with their whole crew on appropriate behavior during a move. This shows me that Changing Spaces takes into consideration complaints on a move and continually trains their crew on how a move should go and what behavior is acceptable. I would definitely use Changing Spaces for my next move. Original: This was my first time using changing spaces and I really liked everyone that helped me with my move. The movers were really nice the admins were helpful and great. My move wasnt a big one. I did not have living room, dining room, or kitchen furniture. It was just bedroom furniture and lots of boxes and bags. I was moving from a house to the 5th floor of an apartment. But there was an elevator and everything fit into the elevator no need for walking up stairs. I was quoted to only have a move that would take about 3 hours. It took about 2.5 hours to load all my things. My bed ended up taking about 28 minutes to break apart. And it took almost 2.25 hours to unload the truck and it only took about 20 minutes for my bed to get put back together. Because my bed was complicated to take apart and put together it did add on an extra hour than my quoted 3 hour move. But in the end my total move was about 4.75 hours. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because during the unloading one of the movers walked in wearing my necklace and they said they thought it was really cool and wanted to take a picture in it. I dont have a problem with them wanting to take a picture in my necklace they thought was really cool. But, I would have preferred they finished moving my things and I have paid them. Then ask if they could put it on and take a picture in my stuff. I would have been more than happy to oblige. They were spending a lot of time down in the truck unloading and after one of them walked in wearing my necklace and said they were taking pictures in it. It made me wonder how much time did they spend not unpacking and just messing around in my things in the truck? That was the only problem I had. I did like my movers a lot other than that. They were really nice people and they were very careful with my items. Im unsure if I will use Changing Spaces for my next move.

I would absolutely recommend this company to any of my friends and family. I did a lot of research between the different moving companies here in Birmingham AL and decided to go with Changing Spaces based on the online reviews and the great questionnaire that you go through when requesting a quote. Yes it is a lot more information to fill out for a simple quote, but because of that they were able to give me a very realistic price quote so I could truly get an idea of how much it would cost me. I also liked that they just have a flat hourly fee. Theres no hidden fees or anything. I know as long as they are moving/driving that is what I will be billed for. Most other moving company websites I looked at just asked a few simple broad questions and then gave me a very broad price range quote. Like, how could they even know how much time it would take to move a single bedroom. They didnt even ask how much furniture I had per room. Thats what I loved about the Changing Spaces website. It went through room by room and I was able to select all the different types of furniture I had so there were no surprises. Setting up the appointment was very easy and they gave me a couple different emails/phone calls up to my moving day to remind me and keep me updated of everything. When moving day actually came the 2 men that arrived were actually 30 minutes earlier then the quoted time, which was a great surprise for me. They were both very friendly and seemed to really enjoy their jobs, which I liked. It took them right around the time amount that was initially quoted me. They moved everything safely into my new home. They even tried their hardest to squeeze a couch through a small hallway for me. I didnt really have to ask them, they just could tell thats where I wanted it and tried as hard as they could to put everything where I wanted it. Overall it was a really great experience and I will definitely use them again when I need to move in the future. Deciding between all the different moving companies was a really stressful experience for me, but I am really glad I went with Changing Spaces.

Changing Spaces has moved us four times and every time has been an excellent experience! We used another moving company prior to them and it was a huge difference. They have moved us out of a 4th floor loft with no elevator and into and out of a 100 year old house with 33 steps to the front door. Scott came out to meet with us on site at a particularly difficult move to strategize how best to get us into our house. The day of the move, they realized they needed more manpower and another small truck to make the move work, so another mover arrived promptly. Their guys are always so polite and hard working. They seem to get along well and you never hear bad language or complaints. They do the job and they do the job cheerfully. So far our only casualties have been a chip on our play kitchen door (its particle board), two cereal bowls and a water glass, which of course I packed, so most likely my error. Id say thats pretty good! For one move, our new house was not ready yet, so they had to move us into storage and we utilized their rented furniture pads, which was a great service. Cant recommend them highly enough!

Changing Spaces Moving was excellent. Jason and Chris are the dynamic duo that moved my mother from Birmingham AL to Columbus OH. I know it was not an easy job as my mother is reluctant to discard anything and there was much packing to do in Birmingham. I wasnt on the Birmingham end of things, but watched Jason and Chris work in Columbus. They worked hard and cared for both my mother and her belongings. They were very respectful. I heard of a lot of "yes maam" and "no maam." I saw them exhibit patience when she did not hear or understand a question the first time. There was even joking and laughing, which always helps. All of her items were in tact and came through the 600+ mile drive just fine. This was a big move for her at 72 to be closer to me and my brother. Jason and Chris made it easier on her. For that I am most thankful. I know she used Changing Spaces Moving in the past and can see why she chose your company again. Thanks for sending a great team to help her. Jason and Chris are true professionals and I would recommend them to anyone.

This company moved us 3 times. However, during the 3rd move my glass table top was broken. The owner did not want to be fair about replacement cost. He reluctantly offered me a small settlement amount which I refused. During our heated discussion, he hung up on me. I called back. He said he would research the price locally. He later called back and offered me an even lower price because he had found a cheaper ready made glass online to replace my formerly rather expensive custom made glass. He said that was all he would pay. He said he mailed me a check which I never received. I called again and it turned out it was not addressed it correctly. We decided to just go pick up the check, at which time he had deducted another $12.50 to cover half of the stop payment costs, saying we had not given the correct address! Because of all this petty behavior, I can assure you we will never do business with this company again!
