Be ready for a lengthy review: I was looking for a nail salon to become my regular spot. Unfortunately, Olivia A. Salon is not the place for me. I went in for an acrylic fill with gel on top and while everyone was friendly I left unhappy with my nails. The result was chunky, overly thick, and uneven. It looked worse than press on nails glued and painted by a child. The nail technician did NOT use a drimmel or motorized file but used a foam hand file to take off my existing and layer of acrylic. At first this seemed nice but I was mistaken. She was unable to file the smaller sectional of my nail bed and ended up filing skin which hurt. My nails were embarrassing to look at as they appeared malformed and lumpy. When she applied the gel she used 3 very thick coats of color that didnt dry under the light and were soft to the touch. To be fair, Im picky with my nails and when I saw the manicure going south I didnt say anything. I should have. Instead I left and went straight to another nail salon. At the next salon they showed my Quasi-Modo nails around and laughed. The salon itself is easy enough to find but the level of aesthetics is less than what I like. They clearly want to be a high end salon but the quality is not quite there. In addition, the prices were NOT worth it! They charged $10 over what any other salon does. The people were nice and they fit me in. And I want to make it clear, I did not say anything to the lady. But Im not sure that she would have been able to fix them even if I had.

I loved this salon initially because I was looking for a new spa in the area - and it seemed to have everything I was looking for - full service. I had been a dedicated Aveda fan, but Id heard great things about one particular hairdresser. I first went to her for blonde highlights, which looked great. From that point forward, it has progressively gotten worse. The last haircut & color, she "refused" to give me the blonde highlights that I originally hired her to do. Worse, I was quoted a price for a haircut & color BY THE OWNER - but the hairdresser ended up charging me $75 more than the quote - within earshot of the owner, who made no attempt to make it right. She claimed it was for extra product here, more toner there, an extra conditioner here, etc. Regretfully, since I had to leave, I paid the charge. In the next 48 hours, I attempted to contact the owner on three occasions, to no avail. The bad facial experience - they have one esthetician, so they suggested the best way for my mother & I to get a facial at the same time would be to do it together - so, they performed a one hour facial for both of us ie 30 minutes each, but charged us for two one-hour facials. I have easily spent $1K at this salon. You would think they would have enough business sense to keep me as a customer. Apparently, money is the only bottom line.

It looks cute on the outside and even in the front reception area but the rest of the place isnt well kept. I was receiving highlights and the cape the hairdresser put on me was filthy. I kept getting someones cut hair on me and she hadnt started my hair yet. She was professional and very nice though. I only did a partial highlight and a trim which looked good blown out in her mirror. Then I got to my car and noticed that part of my eyebrow was bleached! She didnt use foils but some kind of paper and apparently when it was sitting on the front of my face it bleached through. Then the shampoo bowl had someone elses hair color left on the neck part of the bowl. Now that I have my hair pulled back I have parts that look like cheetah spots. I spent $150 for this! I will not go back or recommend this place to anyone.

I received a CND Shellac manicure there. I read up extensively on the product and procedures before going, and I knew that there should be no filing of my nail beds necessary - in fact, CND discourages it for a Shellac manicure on their site. Despite this and raising my concern, the owner filed my nail beds. My cuticles were not pushed back prior to polishing. Also, the polish was applied so far from my cuticles, it looked like I had 10 days of growth already upon completion. I was incredibly displeased. To be fair, the manicure was corrected the next day (spending time I did not have). However, my nails were filed and damaged AGAIN. I would not come back here. The staff was nice enough, but the atmosphere and technique were far from professional.

The staff at Olivias made our wedding party feel right at home. We were treated with such professionalism and made to feel very special and stress free. They took care of everything and made the day even more memorable. Our out of town guests loved the southern hospitality and down to earth atmosphere.

People did seem friendly. The place looks nice on the outside but I agree its a dump inside. If you want to charge high dollar you need to have a professional facility. Whoever did my brows over charged me. Im not sure if its a southern custom to charge the tip into the price. I was not impressed.

Rick and his staff were phenomenal!!! I was able to get a beautiful spray tan for my wedding and my entire wedding party was able to be primped and pampered. Hair and nails for my wedding were beautiful for my bridesmaids, my mother and myself.

Great haircut and spray tan. Andi made me feel and look fantastic. Service was fast and everyone was so friendly.Would recommend this Salon to all my friends.
