My experience with Studio C salon was one of the most unprofessional things Ive dealt with in a long time. I used their online booking system initially. It showed an availability for later that day, a Monday. I then got a really rude phone call along the lines of "I dont know how you managed to schedule something for today..." almost like they were accusing me of doing something wrong? So we rescheduled for the next day at 4:00pm. I called around 2:30 that afternoon just to confirm that appointment time and was shocked to hear, "Oh yeah, I was planning on calling you, were going to have to move this to tomorrow, I cant today." I told her I had an event the next day with work and wouldnt be able to make that happen. She (Shelley) then said, well if you can come in at 3:00, one of our other stylists can take you, referring to Sabrina. I was becoming more and more wary of this situation but I was in desperate need of a haircut so I went with it. I get to the salon right at 3, since I had to rush to leave work with the sudden time change. When I get there, Im told Sabrina has left for the day. I just left the salon, the owner was kind at least and said for me to come back and "shed take care of me" whatever that means. I proceed to drive around town trying to find somewhere thats decent and can take me as a walk-in. I then get a phone call from Sabrina asking why Im not there for my appointment! I told her I wasnt coming back as Id been informed she had left for the day. She said that she had, but shed come back for my appointment. I dont know, it was a complete disaster. There was no organization or communication between any of them and honestly it seemed no self-discipline there either. Obviously Ive got no way to review their actual haircuts but the hassle I went through that day was not worth the best haircut on earth, honestly. I would absolutely not recommend anyone try this place. *** Im editing this to add, sort these reviews by most recent, and youll see exactly what people think of them. Literally the worst salon experience of my life. This past fall I was new to Tuscaloosa and decided to give Studio C a try. I had my hair cut by an apprentice without being notified beforehand (despite the fact that state cosmetology board guidelines require adequate signage with regards to apprentices performing services) and then when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the haircut the owner proceeded to chop almost all of my hair off under the guise of "fixing it". In addition, the owner told me that this was "Gods plan" that my hair had been ruined at her salon and because of that I should just accept it. As a Christian myself, I was beyond offended that she was using religion as an excuse for her actions and lack of supervision over her apprentice. All in all I would caution anyone considering getting more than a trim at this salon to look elsewhere.

I have been getting my hair cut here for about 9 months and it has always been a great experience. The staff is amazing and friendly. I have been to about 10 other places in town and was never satisfied. When I found Studio C I finally found someone who listened to what I wanted and cut my hair with skill and knowledge, resulting in an amazing cut. Cortney has a talent and skill level that is far above others. She is a great, friendly, and an amazing stylist. I have never been rushed or treated like just another hair cut. They always try and accommodate me with any request, including last minute cuts. And when I have an appointment they give a nice friendly reminder. I would definitely recommend Studio C to anyone who is tired of the other rude, quick cuts they get in Tuscaloosa.

I just had to tell you how wonderful of a stylist Mary Catherine is and Ive only seen her three times! During my first appointment I was nearly in tears over the condition of my hair. I had been going to another stylist and was devastated with the outcome of my last visit. Mary Catherine did wonders for my hair and my mood that day. Ive seen her twice since that day and she truly is a beautiful person inside and out. Not only does she do a fantastic job with my hair, but she is also patient with me and answers all of my questions. She has gone out of her way on all 3 occasions to take the time to show me how to style my hair differently when I ask. I feel fortunate to have found her that day that I so needed her and look forward to seeing her again and again :)

Im not sure why Google wont let me give it stars but if my computer would let me I would give Studio C 5 stars (even more if they would let me!). I have brought hair and get my hair highlighted and for years I would go back home, all the way to Louisiana, to get my hair highlighted each time I needed it done. My senior year I discovered Studio C through a girl in my sorority. I LOVE my highlights! I know how picky girls can be with highlighted hair, because I am one of them, so if you want a great job done and you arent close to home go to Studio C and ask for Courtney! She is awesome! I live in Birmingham now and I drive back to Tuscaloosa to get my hair highlight every six weeks. Shes that great! 5 stars all the way.

I scheduled an appointment at Studio C based on the strong reviews it had. I was amazed that it exceeded my expectations. Cortney did a phenomenal job listening to what I wanted and making adjustments to create a style that worked with my characteristics. She asked for my permission before deviating from our plan so I felt comfortable that she wasnt making any changes that I didnt want. Cortney also gave me some great tips for products to try that were in no way a sales pitch. Overall, this was the best haircut I have ever had!!

Thank you for having no idea what you were doing, had to stay there from 4-9 to get an ombre. I wanted ombre, lady told me that my hair was so dark that the ombre would be either black or bleach blonde and there was no middle color brown....did you GO to hair school like what the heck. Also, thanks for bleaching the LIFE out of my beautiful long hair. I had to go to someone else, get the ombre to a LIGHTER brown since the people had no idea of such thing, and getting 3 inches cut off from my own hair.... WORST salon

My boyfriend went into get his very very long hair cut and he was so nervous about it but Cortney did an excellent job of making him feel relaxed and comfortable. She was so friendly and very helpful on deciding how he wanted his haircut to look and we will definitely be coming back and be recommending our friends and family to come her for the future!!! Loved it!!

I had a great experience at Studio C. My hair color was a mess when I first came here and Cortney totally fixed it. Now I love it. Everyone here is great! They are experienced sylist that can do anything. The salon has a wonderful atmosphere and and everyone is so welcoming. I totally recommend it.
