This review can go two ways. As far as the gym itself, its very nice. Staff is nice. No problems there. If youre going to lift and dont have kids then this is the place for you. However, if you plan on using the daycare, I feel I must share my experience. I know some people are "bad customers" and come here to try and damage a business that doesnt deserve it so Ill just tell my story and you can decide. They periodically have date night events where you can drop your kids off on a weekend night so you can go out and have fun. They had one this previous Saturday. On Friday I stopped in specifically to ask about the event and if there was anything I needed to do. I was told it was Saturday from 4:30 to 9:00 and it was $25. Thats it. So Saturday comes and my wife and I go to drop off my daughter. The lady at the desk started looking at a sheet that said reservations. Before she even said anything I knew a problem was coming. She said, "I dont see your name on the reservation sheet". I told her thats because I didnt have one. I told her I stopped in the day before asking specifics and I wasnt informed about the need for reservations. But no big deal, right? I said ok, how do we fix the problem? The lady sat there looking at me blankly. Then she said, Sorry! She also mentioned it was $25 which I knew and wasnt an issue. The issue was she sat there and wouldnt do anything except say sorry. And we all know that translates to "F off". So pretty quickly I determined she was incapable or incompetent or just didnt care and asked for a manager. I was pretty irritated at this point so I wasnt a total jerk but I asked in a way which conveyed my annoyance. Well guess what? No manager on site. Youd think they would be able to contact one to fix their mistake. Nope. She just didnt give a you know what. People like that dont care because theres almost never any consequences. Ill bet nothing happened to her. Or she made up some BS about how it wasnt her fault or I was a jerk. I did make contact with the main manager and the child care manager. They were very nice but there wasnt anything they could do for me. My date night was ruined. I had a crying kid who wanted to play with the other kids and a wife who was on the verge of crying. And I know that sounds dramatic but you have to understand our schedules dont line up very often and date nights are months in between each other. The kicker? When I went in to cancel today the guy who was helping me was blown away by the story. He told me it shouldnt have mattered. They could have taken my daughter and just charged a late drop off fee. So I dont feel comfortable leaving my kid with a lady whos either a liar, ignorant, incompetent, or just doesnt care. Mistakes are made. How she handled the mistake is the problem and shows a serious problem with planning and accountability.

Have been working out here for a few years and also spent the time and money to work with a personal trainer that they assigned to me. The gym itself is usually in chaos, construction and changes, new staff (frequent) and so on. I get it, youre changing the facility so its more appealing considering there are new gyms popping up. However, its unfortunate that they did not spend this time and money on their employees because a number of them have made comments to me about the way they were treated and so they left. I already paid for my agreement for the personal sessions but have several sessions left and now my trainer has left. Its like your doctor, hair stylist or whoever. Relationships matter and so you stick with that person if they do a good job. Mountainside assigned me to my trainer in the first place and now hes gone and they will not refund the dollars based on the remaining sessions. I called Core Concepts and talked to a nice guy but had to listen to how they are changing their structure and management and are in the best place theyve ever been in. In essence, how things have changed. It has only been a week since my trainer left and the reasons seem to be the same as everybody else that Ive spoken to that has left over the last 3 - 4 years. Change may be coming but hasnt happened yet. Also, that they have trainers that will do as good of a job or better than the trainer I already had. Maybe thats true or maybe not but they wont find out because I will remain loyal to who they assigned me to because theyve already done a good job and have proven themselves. The agreement locks you in so I would be careful to any new members looking for personal trainer services. I have heard a lot of doubters about this place and have always tried to overlook that. Now I am one them and will not work with another trainer there or sign up again period. Buyer beware.

Worst gym Ive ever been apart of! Now I know alot of disgruntled customers go and leave bad reviews to complain but this is not one of those cases, I would just like to warn people as to how they do business! The gym its self isnt too bad, its the company that ruins it for me! I have had a membership and a trainer for 6 months and have had my monthly charges consistently messed up! Even when apologized to and given a few free sessions for the mix up (sessions I never got bc it was just something they told me to shut me up, given by corporate not employees) the very next billing date was messed up! In the 6 months there I have had 3 different trainers, 3 different training managers, a many many different front end staff members! This company obviously has some terrible issues if they cant... 1.) Bill their members correctly consistently and 2.) Hold on to good helpful employees! I have spoke to the corporate # 3-4 times and absolutely nothing has been fixed. I would highly recommend anyone considering a new gym to head on over to LA fitness or even the EXOS gyms poping up! Hell Ive have a planet fitness membership for a year and they have never had any billing issues with me! You would think a more expensive club would know how to charge consistent prices for current members! If a $10 membership club can do it Mountainside should to!

This is the saddest gym in AZ been going for a long time and its just become a bug crap festival. Owner must be a girl because this place goes from full court to sad. Removes basketball court for sad yoga/Zumba room. Gets rid of rock climbing wall for three sad sack squat racks. Never has cold water and when they do its not even for half the year. Since they got rid of the courts I had to go to different mountainside only to have heat stroke because their basketball courts AC was at 85 degrees. Looking sorry if you want to drop $40 a month on a piece of sad gym this is where you want to be. This should be half star but it wasnt an option...
