Call ahead and ask if there will be a function or band in lounge and plan your dinner hours before their music starts and ruins your dinner. Fabulous view from dim lit dining room, food in lounge and dining room is delicious, the dining ambiance and menu is as good as the view. Perfect for romantic setting or casual celebrations, wait staff could use some classes. Unfortunately the little time I had in the pool area was ruined by people on their cell phones, there is a sign posted and no enforcement! Its so hot in Scottsdale we had to swim and hike early in the morning so we could not return to the pool. Our room was very nice. Room service doesnt knock, toiletries were not restocked everyday even so; the room was worth every penny. Valet driver told us the upper parking lot was only for valet parking, we couldnt use it because we needed the keys to our vehicle, he made us park in a lot far away, what an inconvenience, then we found out it was NOT true. How can you trust a valet after that? Some salon services can be had for 70 percent off thru groupon, what does that say for salon, overpriced and slow? Public restroom were littered and attendant didnt speak any english. Garbage was hauled thru the lobby and dining area during dinner. Dining room waiter was loud, obnoxious and had not memorized menu. The room, pool, food, tennis court (to hot out now), hiking trails, gym, showers, spa, salon, cleanliness all 5 star. It was the unenforced inconsistency of service I was disappointed in. I think they should hire 5 star caliber employees if they want five stars and pay them accordingly. I would stay there again if all there reviews improve. I like the quiet serenity of sanctuary and it was beyond horrible the night of our anniversary in the dining room. That DJ in the lounge blasting house music so loud my water rippled was completely uncalled for. No one at the resort stepped up to tell him he had to turn it down or even shut the door. Where was management? They were having a wild bartending contest in the lounge and it seemed like they had all their coworkers from town there cheering them on. Surely they can find a better way to bring money in during the slow season. It was anything but sanctuary and ruined our late romantic anniversary dinner. So we finished quickly and celebrated in our lovely room. I hope this reaches the right people who own and run the resort, its a diamond in the mountain and I would like to return. Its a shame these small things happened but the music was unforgivable.

People need to know that if you have a friend or family member or you yourself have difficulty walking there is no way for you to get into the dining area. !!! BASICALLY, IF YOU CANT DO STAIIRS, OR ARE IN A WHEELCHAIR AT ALL....YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK... MY MOTHER CAME TO VISIT AND SPEND $700 A NIGHT SWEET OVERLOOKING THE ENTIRE VALLEY YES VERY BEAUTIFUL HOWEVER DIFFICULTY WALKING THEY BROUGHT HER TO THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING AT 11 OCLOCK AT NIGHT BRING HER INTO THE RESTAURANT TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT FOR LATER I HOPE THEY FORGOT TO GET HER LEFT TO STAND OUTSIDE FOR 20 MINUTES IT WAS FREEZING COLD NOT MUCH OF AN APOLOGY! IF YOU WANT ANYTHING TO EAT AFTER THE BAR CLOSES YOU CAN GET THINGS ON A ROOM SERVICE MENU HOWEVER ZERO DESSERTS ARE AVAILABLE AFTER THE PASTRY CHEF LEAVES ! (AT ABOUT 8 PM) Nowhere AT ALL ANYWHERE IN THE RESORT PERIOD THERE IS NO LITTLE STORE NEARBY YOU WILL HAVE TO DRIVE THERE SO IF YOU ARE OUT OF TOWN YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK! YOU ARE AT THE MERCY OF THEIR IN ROOM REFRIGERATED BAR ( IF YOU GET ONE) HONESTLY I CAN SAY THAT THE HOUSEKEEPING DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB IN KEEPING THEIR ROOMS CLEAN. THEY ARE VERY VERY BASIC. VERY MINIMAL THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY IN THE RESTAURANT NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT AND THE HOUSEKEEPING CREW ARE KIND AND THEYRE VERY GOOD AT THEIR JOB. Im just saying if you want to have a nice room with beautiful yes its a beautiful view but you your shopping first dont do what my mom and sister did which was get a $700 a night room with a great View but no handicap accessibility or even difficulty walking accessibility anywhere on the property also if you want real glasses for your room you cant have them, only plastic and you only get one tiny firelight for your fireplace, no matches, and Boone to call and bring you any!!! So 0LEASE, honestly do your homework!! there are incredible VIEWS all OVER that area!!! dont get suckered!! go for a meal at the restaurant , YES..because the food is excellent, creative & fresh. The ambiance is wonderful and the restaurant manager as well as the servers, what professional friendly and absolutely knew their job! But PLEASE.... $700 a NIGHT FOR A " SUITE there? I dont think Ive ever given a bad review for ANY Resort.! I cannot be more angry and disappointed.

My family and I stayed at the sanctuary for one night on our way to Colorado. I have to say, being an avid traveler the service and hospitality at the resort was some of the best I have ever experienced. From our initial check in to a phone call after we checked out with a question regarding the bill, the professionalism and friendliness was over the top. The resort itself is beautiful and the room was spacious and grand with a beautiful view of Camelback mountain. The bellman who took us to and from our room, I believe his name was Brett, was so helpful and accommodating to our every need. He gave us and entire bag of waters to take to our room. When we checked out he walked around the room to make sure we didnt leave any chargers. We are at the bar restaurant which was good, but not over the top great. From what I understand the main restaurant is fabulous. We will absolutely be returning to this resort again to spend more time. Again, I was absolutely blown away by the hospitality and dedication to service by all the staff. Stayed December 2016, traveled with family

Not worth it!!! I have been to many spas in Scottsdale and this was the most disappointing one. My facialist smelt so bad of garlic I could not even enjoy my facial. I took my mother and aunt who are elderly and they had to walk up so many stairs to get to the pool and the hand railings are boiling hot from the sun it was quite dangerous for them. then the credit card we had for the spa on hold was not valid for the pool area for food or drinks so I had to go back to the spa to get my credit card. Thank god my mother and aunt did not go alone as I had to run down the stairs and back up from the spa locker. Oh then I forgot my key so had to do it all again. Other spas are digital lockers so no keys. The service at the pool was lovely but the view of camelback mountain and the infinity pool are ruined by ugly buildings. The set up of the spa is small and not what I expected. Very disappointing.
