I love being at this dance studio. It is truly my second home. All the teachers are very talented and truly care about their students. They make each lesson both challenging and fun. Over the past year and half each teacher has given me something to make my dancing progress to that next level while still achieving my personal goals. My primary teacher Chris is an excellent instructor/dance partner. He explains steps, figures and techniques in the simplest of terms. He always gives positive feedback, answers all my questions and makes the lessons fun. You can easily see his loves of dancing in how he teaches and performs with his students. I feel honored and blessed to be one of his students. The managers Deborah and Nedko are always there to listen to my concerns about the business of dancing. If there is ever an issue with contracts/fees they are willing to work together with me to find a mutual understanding. The new owner of the studio Jonathon is true to his word. "I want to make sure those students who really want to dance... will be able to dance at this studio." We were able to showcase an all student group dance piece at a local competition for a reasonable fee. He is open to new ideas for the studio from off site group lessons to onstage productions benefiting a worthy cause. Another benefit to this studio are other students. I have enjoyed making new friends who share the same love of dancing. We plan to meet each week at the practice parties to dance with each other. Showing each other what we have learned and helping each other with areas that may be difficult. If you love dancing and want to learn from talented teachers whos passion for dance shows in the way they teach, then I encourage you to take a lesson. You might find this studio to be a place where you love to be and can call your second home.

I have taken lessons at this studio for a year, and it leaves much to be desired. When you first start out, the instructors and managers fawn over you until they get your credit card number. After that, treatment for students goes severely downhill unless you agree to an overpriced competition. Learning for learning and enjoyments sake is not an option. Practice without an instructor (and therefore a lesson fee that has gone up from $87 to $96 in the past few months) is strongly discouraged, and students who try to are often relegated to a corner and ignored. Across the board, professionalism is completely lacking: from the receptionist, to the teachers, to the managers and owner. I have watched teachers scream at their students for not competing or for looking at supplemental lessons elsewhere. As a paying customer, this behavior is not appreciated nor appropriate. The teachers are talented, but the overall studio experience is not worth the money or disrespect and insincerity you will have to tolerate.

I started taking lessons here with my boyfriend in June of 2015 as a birthday gift and have fallen in love with ballroom dance. We are loving our experience at the Paradise Valley studio! It is a welcoming and encouraging community with friendly and knowledgeable instructors that can help you at whatever experience level you are at and help you with whatever goals you want to reach, whether that is learning how to social dance, perform choreography, or compete. I have had lessons taught by each of the instructors and they are all wonderful to work with. Growing up as an athlete I experienced a lot of negative coaching situations, so the positive coaching atmosphere means more to me than I can express. If you want to be pushed, the instructors will push you and will help you learn to be the best dancer you can be. It is a great atmosphere to spend time in and I always look forward to my time in the studio.

Be careful with prepaid dance lessons. My wife and I had been with the studio for over one year and we really enjoyed it. I did purchase a large number of dance lessons and were about one half the way through when my wife developed a medical condition that prevented us from dancing again. I requested a refund verbally, through phone, and through a letter. As of this date (after 6 months) I havent heard one word from them including the owner. If you do prepay dance lessons make sure you ask about refunds and make sure you read the fine print.

Ive had a desire to learn to dance for several years. Fortunately the entire staff offered great encouragement and made me feel welcome and comfortable immediately. My instructor "Jasmine" is a consummate professional and a perfect fit. She supports and directs me to achieve more than this new dancer would have ever imagined. If you are considering dancing with the stars I would strongly direct you to these talented and dedicated professionals who truly enjoy their work.

Beautiful decorations in the ballroom even in the bathrooms! Professional attention from the staff make me feel appreciated and strengthened. The attention to the details makes me feel good when Im leaving my lessons. Warm, friendly and not snobby. The Thursday night parties are my favorite but I would dance every day of the week here!

We have been taking lessons for the past couple of years and have been really pleased. Our dancing has improved by leaps and bounds. In response to the previous critiques regarding management, new instructors and new staff have solved those issues. We are proud to start our standing date night with the Fred Astaire Family.
