The scale reads 244 pounds. “Do you see that weight? That is the last time you will ever weigh that much. Congratulations and welcome to Pulse Fitness. –Tim Lyons” Those were the words that forever changed my life forever. I started my journey at Pulse Fitness on January 10th, signing up for the DC Ranch Biggest Loser Challenge. It has been one of the most positive experiences of my life. I tried different gyms and different diets but they offered nothing more than a temporary fix. Nothing I was doing would last longer than a couple of months. Not one of these gyms, diets, trainers, programs have been able to make an all encompassing change in my life. I have lost weight before, but never a meaningful long lasting way. That is until I came to Pulse Fitness where I learned how to change my lifestyle, and make physical well being a part of my life. At Pulse Fitness I was told on day one that it was going to be difficult, but completely worth it and those words were true. I spent 12 weeks challenging myself physically and mentally, and would and will do it again in a heartbeat. The first week was tough, and by the second week my trainer Todd helped me find out what my physical limitations were and how to push past them. There is nothing better than knowing your limits and how hard you can push yourself in a workout. The whole experience was tailored towards preparing me to make it outside the competition. I learned so much about food and how to make healthy delicious recipes. The biggest life lesson was my fitness diary. I logged and documented everything I ate as well as my workouts. The workouts were HARD but so much fun. I have never been to a gym that puts so much thought in to their workouts. Boot camps and personal training sessions were never the same always different and challenging. Pulse Fitness is by far the most creative gym with their workouts! I never thought I would be able to flip a tractor tire, throw a sledge hammer around or even push a truck with my two hands! Things I never dreamed of came true at this gym. Something else happened I started to believe in myself again. Look forward to working out, seeing friends at boot camp and especially making my trainers proud. . It is now my forth month at Pulse Fitness and I am currently down 54 pounds! I am continuing my workouts at boot camp as well as with my amazing personal trainer Todd. He has changed my life forever. I am building muscle changing my metabolism and finding that living a normal life is complete possible with the right tools. Pulse Fitness and staff have given me a second chance at life and another opportunity to live the healthy lifestyle I never thought was possible. For that I forever thank them. Sincerely, Chanel Branham

I came across Pulse Fitness through a group coupon website. This was one of about 7 other bootcamp deals I purchased. Pulse Fitness was the second gym I “cashed in”… I knew, after day one of bootcamp, I would not be cashing in any other vouchers. This was it. By far the most physically and mentally challenging workouts, I knew I was going to get results if I stuck to the program Pulse Fitness helped me with. Though the coupon covered a 6 week membership, I signed up within my first 4 weeks, including enhancing my experience with personal training sessions. Over the next 6 weeks, I dropped 12 pounds and 13 inches overall. As I watched my body transform, I knew I had found the right gym. I attend bootcamp 3x’s a week, and train with one of their amazing trainers 2x’s a week. EVERY single workout is a challenge. But, what is so amazing about it, is when I hear what incredible exercise the trainers want me to complete, I used think, this is absolutely impossible…. But, after just one time of pushing yourself beyond your limits, you quickly learn, you can do anything. By far, the most incredible transformation that Pulse Fitness helped me accomplish was exactly that… I can do anything. The staff at Pulse Fitness are all very knowledgeable and specialize in both different and similar aspects of health and wellness. This has allowed me to build a mini-network of fitness experts which helps expedite my results. My network expands when we start talking about the members… . where have you ever read a review on a gym that talks about the other members? A great group of people! There to achieve the same goals you are, they show up every day, help hold you accountable, if even they don’t know they are, and really help create a team feeling during bootcamps. No man left behind applies. I’ve watched time after time someone being done with their routine, go back to the others to run that last lap. What a great gym. I’m so very excited that I found this place. It’s the easiest commitment for me, because it doesn’t even feel like work. Pulse Fitness is a constant evolving, forward thinking gym that clearly has me as a client for life!

Finding a place you feel comfortable working out at is sometimes difficult to do. I hate "big box" gyms, fancy schmancy, expensive, exclusive, places dont work for me either (and really I only went to those places for the steam room - I LOVE steam rooms!! Hint, hint TJ ) Some women have to tear others down to make them feel better about themselves. But this never happens at Pulse because we seem to be a tight-knit little group (and well, were just kinda that awesome!) We see the same people at BC or coming in for training. One never knows what someone else may be going through and just a smile, "you got this", or "have a great day" can really mean a lot to someone. Thats what Pulse Fitness is all about. So, I have to give a shout out to some people. First, the trainers are just awesome. They put a lot of effort into making the Boot Camps different every single day. Jenna, thanks for always making me smile even when I hate the workout and coming by to say hi or give me a high five before you go stretch someone. David, thanks for getting my eating under control. I love knowing Im fueling my body properly and Im seeing results (almost 20 pounds lost in 2 months)!! Pulse Fitness is a great place to workout, feel at home, and get the full service experience without a big, cold, box gym.

Pulse caught my eye one day, with a free six-week weight loss challenge post on Facebook or Instagram... and wanting to turn the tide on the ever rising scale, I replied. This was one sweet deal, and Im so glad I was accepted! It started with an assessment, along with a meal plan. The food is the key. You cant out-train a bad diet, and Pulse gives you the tools to maintain a great diet! I agreed to attend at least 3 boot camp sessions a week, for the duration of the challenge. The book camps are much like circuit training. Expect lots of squats, up-downs, and burpees. Youll be mixing it up with push-ups and planks. Then grab a 17lb weighted ball to see how high you can throw it, or raise a slam-ball high above your head and slam it into the ground! Want more? Hop on a stationary bike for quick, high intensity bursts, then plank with dumbells which youll raise up, one arm at a time. Head over to the TRX straps for some rows or tricep extensions. Finally, grab the battle ropes, or push that weighted sled for 20 yards. You aint leavin till youre heavin! Starting at 271, after 6 weeks, I dropped 29 lbs... and I have the tools to continue achieving success, all thanks to Pulse! Give them a try if youre serious about changing yourself
