I would like to give the Toni and Guy at Scottsdale fashion square a -100 if that was possible... I am writing because I have many a bad experience there. I didnt say anything before, but I keep getting text messages telling me that "they miss me" so that just ticked me off... My first bad experience with them was that they had forgotten my appointment or double booked me "TWICE" . After waiting to get in for a hair color I had Dominique die my hair green and black when I requested for a brown with blonde and red highlights. Not only is he a horrible hair color technician- apparently Toni and Guy has their staff specializing in either color or cut, I am not sure what he specializes in apart from arrogance and nonchalance. Not only did he ruin my hair, he didnt even apologize. After complaining to management, they did give me a complimentary hair color and my next colorist Salina was amazing. After making a booking with her in advance for my next appointment, I call to confirm my appointment to find out she has left and the staff didnt even bother to call me to inform me that she was gone but felt they had the liberty to book me with whoever they felt fit. Going in for my next appointment, they again hadnt got their appointment straight but I waited in optimism to get a hair color I didnt really like. They politely let me know that they could re-schedule me anytime I wished again for a re-color. Going back in three weeks later, I get a hair color that simply fries my hair and my hair went through a period of falling and looks like a dried wig. From my experience here the management really needs work and sometimes you luck out with a great stylist and colorist but they dont stand up for the TONI and guy reputation that they strive for. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THAT SALON AGAIN!!!

Go here at your own peril!!! I got my hair cut here by a guy who was a toni and guy academy graduate. This guy had about 3 or 4 months of experience since graduating, but my dog could have given me a better haircut wearing a blindfold and with one paw tied behind her back. This guy completely butchered my hair. I asked him to cut an inch off my hair and by the time he was done, he had hacked off 4 INCHES. The hair was completely uneven, and instead of giving me a basic bob, which is what I had asked for, I ended up walking out with something that looked more like a mullet! The were holes in my hair where my ears were (hello, basic beauty school 101!). The top of my hair was about 2 inches long and I had to literally get out of my chair and tear of my smock to escape his scissors and further butchery. To add insult to injury I had to pay almost $50 for this tragic haircut and have spent the last 6 months growing this turd hairdo out. I was under the impression that Toni and Guy were reputable, but if this guy is any representation of the caliber of student they graduate from their academy and then hire in their salons, they are the bottom of the barrel. Avoid them like the plague unless you want to look like a plucked chicken.

I was a little disappointed when I went to Toni and Guy. When I arrived to my appointment I was told that I would be getting my style done by someone OTHER than who I was scheduled with. I had a ball to go to that evening and time was of the essence so I sat with the other stylist. I wasnt shown or able to look at my hair until an hour and a half later and when I saw it it was NOTHING like what I asked her to do. I asked for an up do with a waterfall effect of curls falling down i told her I wanted loose and long curls flowing. I even showed her a photo. What I got was curls that were put tight to my head and pinned. and instead of my hair (which runs down to my lower back) looking that way it looked short and pinned up. To top off my time there I was quoted a different price when I scheduled my appointment and was charged $20 more not including what I had to give for tip. I was very disappointed in this visit at the Scottsdale Fashion Square and left in tears because I was so upset. The woman who did my hair was so sweet and wonderful, but that doesnt make up for me getting the opposite of what I requested.

If I could leave negative stars I would. I had my hair colored, cut and styled here. The color was not what I asked for, even though I brought in pictures of what I wanted, talked to the woman for some time about it and she swore she could make it work..they had to do it twice. It damaged my hair so bad, Ill have to cut more than half of it off to get it fixed! The woman who styled my hair she put me in curls like I was a doll, think massive perm curls that DO NOT LOOK GOOD ON ME OR WHAT I ASKED FOR AT ALL! The staff was kind and friendly however that does not make up for lack of skills. My hair is beyond damaged now My hair was nice and healthy before I walked into Toni and guy, I left with hair so damaged I have to go to another place to get it cut to help fix it now. I will never go here again. Waste of money and I warn anyone else to not trust these people. Big name does not mean skills.

I had the best haircut and color ever! Aaron did my haircut and it is amazing. He is the King of short sassy hair. Christina is the queen of color. I was so happy with my new look. All my friends in Scottsdale wanted to know who did my hair. It is pricey, but you are getting the best and it holds up well, so that you dont need as many touch ups or trims. I read the negative comments. This Toni and Guy has its own vibe, very soho/greenich village. The personalities and the waits are part of the people watching experience. If you are not used to arty/avant guard, you may not like this place. The technicians are experts and they know exactly what they are doing. My two daughters and I are both sold on Aaron and Christina.

I bought a groupon for this location. the one for a haircut , conditioning, color and 2 Free 15$ gift cards. Well since I wanted my hair colored a little lighter that was out of pocket and I had to go back a separate visit for a haircut, which was the only thing that came out right. That girl did an awesome job with my haircut but as for my hair job (the dye) looks a bit orange. Everything aside from the groupon came out to 130$ including the tip. Not worth it! Ill go back soon see if they can fix it this orange brown color. Anyway, they didnt give me my gift cards. And apparently they dont like to because if you read the reviews from previous people that bought the groupon they also didnt get the gift cards.
