Recently I switched to Planet Fitness. I like my usual location but yesterday I tried the one at Southern and McClintock. Initially I thought the layout and equipment looked good but not even 5min into my warm up and the same staff member (Josh) that checked me in comes over and proceeds to tell me Im not allowed to have my gym bag on the floor. (No gym bag at the gym..oookkkk). I explain I keep my towel, water, wrist and ankle weights along with my jumprope in it. He says Im not allowed to bring outside gym equipment. I ask him if they provide jumprope, he said they do not. He used the word unfortunately about 40 times and I asked him why is this my first time hearing about this. Apparently they are very strict and the things I brought to WORKOUT are liabilities. I later watch him confiscate someones water jug. Of all the gyms Ive been to I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable. For a judge free zone I never felt more embarrassed. I cant actually focus on my workout because I feel the staff are starring and waiting for you to breathe a little too hard so they can power Trip on you. I started wondering am I at the gym or did I stumble into a candy shop... Theres Tootsie rolls everywhere, my gym bag isnt allowed, I cant use ankle weights (REALLY?!?!!) and if youre water container doesnt fit the criteria and youre hydrating too properly theyll take it. If you ask me Ive never been so deterred from working out so I did leave. Ill never return to this location, am Im considering cancelling my membership. Very disappointed!!! I want to see in the contract where it states I cant wear ankle weights... Or how they are considered equipment?! Honestly if everyone there is that gym-timidated by a jug of water they should stay home, 71% of the world is covered in water. But oh.. you might miss out on pizza Tuesday, this place is meant for overweight people to stay that way and just pat each other on the back and say its okay.. Me too. Not the kind of support Im looking for. Do better planet fitness!

I have been a PF member for 3 months and would not recommend this gym to anyone. I am a member at the location in Tempe Arizona on McClintock Dr. The cleanliness is unacceptable staff members are unfriendly I have not attended this gym in over 2 months and have still been billed for charges after calling to cancel. The general manager Romeo advised me that he does not know the corporate number and that if I wanted the recurring payments to end I would have to come into the location why on Earth would I have to come in to cancel a membership that is advertised as no commitment. A couple times I brought me and my business partners to this location and was embarrassed at the lack of customer service no toiletries in the restroom and the overall service. Seeing as to how they treat their customers I would never be attending a Planet Fitness location again I guess you get what you pay for

In my travels to California, Arizona, and Colorado, this is probably the best location Ive ever been to. This is not a rating I would give overall to GYMs, just in all of the Planet Fitness it has every amenity that would make a Planet Fitness good, all into one: - they participate in the bait car program, so you feel safer leaving your car there, already - is small - it doesnt play loud music - it has private showers -there are soap pumps in the showers - it has clean bathrooms - it has water massage tables - it has back/leg massages -it has tanning booths - all of these are in a dark, air conditioned quiet room -it has every machine that a planet fitness would possibly have - it has a water bottle dispenser -did i mention its small? really, if you go during off hours its like a little personal gym with equipment you get to pick from.

Assistant Manager

I had my membership cancelled for, apparently, being a "Lunk." Their policies left me confused, frustrated, and judged. Furthermore, they are dumbbell dropping Nazis. The Assistant Manager Tyler at this location may just make an off-handed request for you to stop dropping your weights if you flip your weights from standing on-end, to resting horizontally, before lifting them to begin your set. Also, if you--even accidentally--drop a weight too hard a siren will sound so the entire gym draws their attention to you. Do not be fooled by their faulty policies: this is not a judgment free zone for anyone. That is a blatant lie. If you do more than elliptical or circuit training on machines I recommend you just save yourself the frustration of being helicoptered by the staff or sirened into oblivion.

Tec Tec

DO NOT GIVE ANY BUSINESS YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT NUMBER. PERIOD. The reason that this gym wants to run automatic drafts against your checking account is so that you cannot block their withdrawals. Additionally, you do not have the same level of FRAUD PROTECTION with bank drafts that you do with credit card transactions. This gym is a low security environment with extremely low wage employees. Thats a recipe to have your banking data stolen. Credit cards have replaced checks for a reason. Check with your bank. They will tell you the same thing.

A really nice gym at a very reasonable price. The staff is friendly, the place is very clean, the equipment isnt outdated and the locker rooms are nice and clean, as well. I like the "no lunks" thing as there really isnt a ton of muscle heads flexing all over the place. I prefer to go in the early am when the place isnt way too busy like it can get right after work during the week. Free weights, machines, tons of cardio equipment. No regrets.

Great gym.. I work out 6 days a week... All the equipment is in good condition.. There are a couple of machines I wish they had.. but other than that.. it is great.. I also like the fact that it is open 24 hours. I usually go about 3:30 - 4:00 am... so I am not waiting for it to open up.. Also the price of membership is only $10 or $20 depending on which card you get. I would recommend to give a try... you will like it...

Great place to not get judge on how you workout and do things if differently, Receive a lot of help on how to use equipment and the employees are great with helping. Other people that do go there also are very trust worthy. I had lost my wallet that had cash inside and someone honestly gave it to the counter people. I was shocked it happened, I thought I was going to have to replace it all but not one thing was taken.

My wife and I enjoy the convenience of a fitness club open 24 hours and it is close to our house. There is a wide variety of equipment and weights to use. We enjoy watching the news on the big TV screens while we use the treadmill and arc trainers. Our only complaint is that frequently one of more channels are not working or do not have sound.

Buyer beware, they will tell you no fees for cancellation and that you can use this membership at any other planet fitness. I moved to another area and turns out this store is not affiliated with other planet fitness. Cancelled today and got slapped with a $59 fee so I could get a membership closer to home. Avoid this location at all costs.
