The gym itself is fine Im just disappointed with their lack of transparency. I recently had to move though and I contacted Vasa to see how to cancel. It took them over a week to get back to my message, and then they just referred me to a website. I went through the whole process and put in all the correct information, but got an email saying that my request to cancel couldnt be processed. I emailed back but got no response, and a week later I went back to the actual gym and they basically just referred me to the website again, but also gave me a number to call. The number referred me to the website AGAIN. (Is it too much to ask for help from an actual human when their online system is crap? Apparently at Vasa it is). Finally, after lots of wasted time, I got the website to work and an email saying my membership would be cancelled, but that I had to pay for another 2 months (up until March 25th) even though I had tried to start the cancellation process like three weeks prior. When I originally signed up for the gym, I double checked that I wouldnt have to pay a cancellation fee if I used the gym for at least 6 months, and the employee assured me I wouldnt have to. Well, when I finally cancelled, they didnt mention a fee per se...just that Im locked into paying until March 25 (despite the fact that Ive been there well over six months). Also, I hate the fact that they have a $50 "Maintenance Fee" they sneak in there in addition to your monthly charges. Id rather pay a higher rate consistently then get charges they dont tell you about up front and sneak into your contract. Business practices were less than desirable. Would not recommend.

I joined vasa fitness on 17th Jan. Asked if I could pay my 6 months upfront as I did not want to pay with bank or credit card as its to hard to stop the payments when the contract is over. Was told I could not do 6 months but could pay month to month in cash. So paid my 1st month plus joining fee. Went in to pay my 2nd month today and was told that my payment was pending on my bank card. After talking to the manager I was told that the person that took my details and signed me up had put my name in the system under a bogus bank account, and you cant pay by cash...the person who signed me up was Bennion. I called head office and all they would do was let me cancel without the 30 days or cancellation fee, I cant get my joining fee back. I was lied to and there was no way I would have joined in the 1st place if I had known you could not pay by cash month to month...and I was very upfront about that point at the beginning .

Its a good gym for a good price. People who get stuck paying extra fees obviously didnt read the fine print. Basically, its $10/month (or $20 for a fitness pass) and once a year they take $60 for a maintenance fee. And if you quit before youve been there 6 months, thats $25. And if you have insufficient funds in your bank or credit card, thats another $25 fee. Its very simple if you listen to what they tell you when you sign up. The gym is nice, friendly staff, and Ive never had a problem with it being too crowded. Yeah, it gets crowded, but Ive always been able to get a good workout in. I just find another exercise to do until what I want opens up. They dont have a ton of equipment, but they have what you need to get a good workout in. If you want all the extra unnecessary equipment, then go to lifetime or treehouse and pay $70-$80/month. Overall, a good, cheap place to work towards your fitness goals.

This company is crap. Due to extreme medical conditions, I was not able to pay for a personal trainer, but this company would not let me out of the contract even though I was hospitalized and could not even go to the gym!!! They also would not even let me cancel my $10 monthly gym membership, because I still had the personal trainer. I was 18, and in the hospital, and was taken to collections by this scummy gym! Finally when I cancelled the membership, of course after jumping through a thousand hoops and emails, I get a $50 charge 3 weeks later and they will not remove it because coincidentally it is an annual fee. This gym is the WORST!!! They will try to steal every penny you have ( Even if youre in the hospital!) IT IS A TRAP! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM! I would never go back, and I will never ever refer someone to this DUMP. It is a waste of money, I PROMISE! Vasa gym sucks!

Disappointed! More than half of the treadmills are broken and several other machines. Instead of opening a new Layton location this month they should have spent the money maintaining the current locations before the new year crowd. Also, the bathrooms..... one of the two hand dryers in the womens bathroom is broken so theres always a line just to dry your hands and I couldnt be more afraid to actually use the bathrooms because theyre always so gross, dont even get me started on what my husband has told me about the mens bathroom. Send help to your Draper location, Vasa!! Even though Lifetime only has one location, its MUCH more worth the extra cost to have proper functioning machines, cleanliness, and a well-run gym.

Should have read reviews before signing a contract with this gym. I wanted to sign up for a single month pass just to try it out. One of the sales guys said it would be $20 and I just had to cancel before the end of the month to ensure I wasnt charged again. Well, I went to cancel and they informed me that I needed to give 30 days notice and pay a $25 cancellation fee. That would have been nice to know when I was actually signing the contract! Now Im paying the next months service fee and a cancellation fee. What is the fee even for?? I was on hold for 40 minutes trying to talk with an operator, it would take them 40 seconds to delete the account... They DONT care about the customer.

Make you pay $53 to cancel if youve been there for less than 90 days. I knew they would charge the $25 cancellation fee, as Ive been going month to month for 19.99 per month, but they failed to tell me that on top of the last payment and cancellation fee there would be their guarantee of $53 if you go less than 90 days. They knew I was only going for about two months. VERY displeased and will not suggest this place to anyone. They did not care at all when I brought this up to them. On the other hand. Ive been with and cancelled, because I move around for internships/work, with Summit in Saint George and adored the place. VASA, youre terrible.

I dont understand why people complain when they cant get the discount they want to get. When I signed up for the basic pass, I know it was gonna charge annual fee and the staffs never hide anything in front of me. When I upgraded to the regular, its the same. You gotta ask question before you make your own decision. They do not hide unless you do not ask anything which is your rights. So far, all the gyms I have been are nice, staffs are cool too, places are clean. All the gyms out there do charge fee besides the $9.99. If you complain, go to somewhere like 24 hours fitness. Its all about your choice. Pick the one it fits you.
