The worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. Heres my story, About a month ago, my AC went out. D&H came to inspect the unit. A tech came out to look and showed me where a considerable amount of fridgerent sprayed out the top and recommended a new unit entirely. Two days later, another man came out to talk about the price of the unit. Altogether, the cost of the unit came out to about $8k, which was higher than most estimates i could find, (my house is a small manufactured home, about 1400 sq ft) but i was desperate and the worker assured me about the quality of the company. He explained the necessity for a 4ton unit, and he convinced me to go ahead with the deal. During this meeting, I asked about possible duct issues and whether an inspection or duct work would be included. The worker assured me this was all a part of the job and by the end of it, we would be at a guaranteed 75 degrees in up to 105 degree temps. He left and I got the invoice for the work in an email a few hours later. At the bottom of the invoice it said, "use existing duct work". At this point im worried and i call the company. I spoke with the same guy, who kindly assured me that a worker would be there to inspect the ducts the day of the replacement, and they would make any repairs free of charge or discounted. A week roles by, the workers come out to replace the unit. The very first thing I do is ask the worker when they will be conducting the pressure test on the ducts. the worker tells me that the pressure check will be conducted on the following day. At this point my BS detector is ringing off the hook, so, I call the company to inquire about the air ducts. I spoke with a receptionist who was unaware of ductwork. She put me on hold and called the install manager, then gave me the info to reach him myself. I immediately called the install manager, he told me he would call me back once he returned to the office. I received no such call. Monday morning rolls around, I call him back and he tells me he was planning on coming over the following day to inspect my ducts. Next day, install manager comes to my house 2 hrs late with no warning and spent what seemed like a total of 20 minutes looking at my registers and chastising me for the placement of my furniture. He didnt hook up any equipment and spent what seemed like maybe 5 minutes under my house. he emerged and told me that a piece of ducting would need replaced and D&H would be unable to do it, trying to refer me to a completely different company. This man was rude. At this point Im furious. I called the manager, I told them all of this and was told another worker would be there asap to do a proper pressure check. I also received a call from the install manager who did the original, "duct inspection" as he stated my unit was incorrectly fitted with a 3ton blower, rather than a 5ton blower, and they would be out, as soon as the part came in, to replace it. The next worker comes out, and hooks up the machine. He tapes off the registers and conducts the test that should have been done originally and assures me the pressure is fine and he does not think my air ducts needed replaced. I accepted the answer and let it go. About another week passes, I had not heard about the 5 ton blower. I call the company, again, to inquire about the part. Again, I speak with the same install manager, who tells me the tech will be there that day with the blower. The worker came out, late again, and installed the blower. Since then, its probably been about 2 weeks. I wasnt really happy, but I was content. Today, while my wife was cleaning the air filter, a panel above the unit fell and hit her on the back. It turns out, two of the screws were removed from my panel in order to screw in to the side of the unit, in what i assume was a poor effort to try and jimmy rig the installation. They took apart a piece of my home to finish their job, without telling me about it. Their negligence could have seriously hurt a member of my family. Im calling D&H and the Better Business Bureau tomorrow morning.

My mother is an elderly woman who lives on a fixed income. She called d and h to get her cooler repaired and was quoted an amount of 80.00 to maintenance the cooler. She was told that cooler pads were an additional fee however if they were purchased, the technician will replace them. The total amount of time the technician was here was maybe an hour, in that time he got his ladder, took the frame off the cooler, took the belt off and the pump and got off the roof. Said the pump did not work (which he said was going to be 80.00), which was strange because the cooler didnt have a problem.. It was just the replacing of the pads.. He didnt clean the frame of the cooler, because that is not what they do, according to him, so that was done for him while he was walking around on his phone. He proceeded to walk back and forth from his work vehicle, around the work vehicle, back on his phone... Then told my mother that he needed to go to another job. In which he told her he could return for 98.00 an hr, once she bought another pump. He then told her that the 80.00 charge she had to pay was just for him coming out to her home. She had to ask him to connect it all back because she wasnt aware of the additional charges.. She gave him 100.00 in cash, he did not have the proper change, because he couldnt find his wallet... So she is still owed her change from your company and he gave her no receipt! She called that day and asked for management, she was told she would get a call back... I called on Tuesday and left a message for your office manager to contact me and still havent received a call. The level of customer service within your company is ridiculous.. That same day we met with someone from D&H to discuss an AC unit for my mothers home, because your technician didnt try to service my mothers cooler but thought booking an appt for an AC unit was a great idea, We assumed at least our concerns or complaints would be considered and that someone would contact us.. But apparently customer complaints are not important to you, so I will have my mother seek a different place to do business with. Maybe this company is established and has lots of clients however with customer service like that.. I will be telling people of the lack of importance that was displayed for a potential long term customer.

To whom it may concern, I would like to thank D & H Air Conditioning and Heating Company, for there prompt service call, when all others could not. D & H was the only company out of many that I had call on Saturday afternoon for a service call. We had just returned from our vacation and realized that our A/C unit was not cooling properly. I started calling down the list of A/C service companys with the hope that someone would be able to help with our problem. With no such luck, until I call D & H. I was immediately informed that they could have a technician over in a couple of hours, which I why we are so great full. I just want to acknowledge that your technician Ernie is a very competent and knowledge technician with a professional attitude. Ernie took his time and explained everything in layman terms, so that I could understand what was going on with our A/C unit. D & H should be very proud to have him as an outstanding employee. My wife and I are very great full. Because our A/C unit was frozen when he arrived, there was not much he could do. Ernie took his time in explaining the process for re-scheduling our next service call. When I called the call center to rescheduled our appointment for Saturday evening. The technician on call informed me that he had spoken with Ernie about our situation, and that he informed me that Ernie was willing to come out on Sunday a day he doesnt normally work, if we were willing to wait. Because of Ernie’s very positive and professional attitude was the reason we were willing to wait another day. Ernie returned on Sunday morning with the same Im here to help attitude. Which is very rare these days especially for a Sunday. It was very refreshing to see Ernie so thoroughly and methodically break down the problem with our A/C unit. With our unit fixed and running properly, we are very great full for Ernie and D & H. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. With our A/C unit at 15 yrs old, we will be replacing our unit this coming year, and rest assured that we will be calling D & H Air Conditioning and Heating Company, because of your outstanding company and professional technicians, is the reason why we will be recommending your company to all family and friends. Thank you… Anthony and Leticia Medrano.
