Worst experience ever with movers!!! Hands down! I just received my household goods in Japan today and let me tell you nearly every piece of furniture is destroyed! I had a $7000 entertainment system that was in mint condition and they scraped it up all over , it now looks like something I bought from Walmart! Im extremely upset! When they came out to pack our things they were double booked so that meant that with my goods they could careless! All my dishes were packed in a box that wasnt labeled fragile! They packed dog food with people food! I never been so disrespected in my life! I guess they dont care about their military members either that or they dont care for Afro-Americans much!!! They packed open food in boxes with trash.. They didnt label all the boxes so I have no idea if things were taken or not... I will contact my loosing base and tell them of this horrific move and make my claims! I pray not another family has to go through what me and mines did!!! Never again Downey!!!!! It wasnt so much the movers but in particular the packers, my things were destroyed.. I had to add this in because we still going through boxes- where as I thought jokingly they might be racist come to find out someone on their crew is! We got some papers that were packed in a ziplock bag that someone wrote Nigro paperwork! Pissed- uploading a pic soon !

Horrible experience. They changed prices on me three times. The movers smoked marijuana in front of my home while picking up and the smoke went through my home. Additionally, they never delivered my items. Instead, they dropped them off 15 miles from my new homes location and then called me to pick it up. The problem was, they would not give me the location until I paid the remainder of the contract, EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER DELIVERED MY THINGS!!! I would never recommend them for anything. Be very afraid of this company. Additionally know that they use other names besides just Downing. They also use the name Golden Valley Van Lines which is out of California, even though they represent that they are from IN. The dispatch personnel is located in Denver. They also use the Name National Moving System our of Woodland Hills CA. I have actually called the police to get involved since they have basically committed theft and contract fraud crossing state lines. You are nuts if you use this company. Be warned.

What a terrible experience! While I was stationed in Germany and waiting for my wife to come out here, they packed everything as fast as they could, and almost broke my TV! They were a day late, and they packed trash into our boxes. They had glassware inside of our empty food boxes, and the manager was very disrespectful to the woman officer in the Army trying to ask him about the status of our household goods. He also made sexist jokes against my wife, and to the fellow soldier as well. Hopefully their business will shut down and be exposed for what it is. We are not the only military family that has been taken advantage of by them. Also my wifes Dooney and Burke handbag worth quite a lot of money went missing when our household good arrived. What a coincidence.

Downey moving, family owned and operated, just completed my interstate move. Everything was delivered in great condition. The moving crews were hard working, professional, and took good care of my household goods. Id gladly recommend them.

Literally dumped the contents of my bathroom trashcan on top of my bedding when packing a box my stuff was treated with so much disrespect I cant even express the frustration
