I had the worst moving experience ever with this franchise, although I had excellent service the other 3 times I used Two Men and a Truck. When I called the office to inquire about the truck, the women said they overbooked so much that they had to rent a Penske truck for my move, which was smaller than the trucks they ordinarily provide. It was fortunate that I had previously requested wardrobe boxes, but the "men" showed up without any regular boxes or tape. I luckily had a few extra boxes on hand, as well as suitcases into which they put clothing. They proceeded to put as much as they could into the sub-standard truck, and in the process, they damaged an antique heirloom vanity and a computer desk. The "men" said nothing about the apparent damage, but I just happened to notice the issues. I spoke immediately to the owner, who boasted several times about having obtained a law degree. He said he would either fix the damaged items, or replace them and that he wanted to make things right. I was skeptical, but wanted to believe him. Furthermore, I still had to go back and pack and fetch 6 boxes of things that they were unable to move since they didnt have any boxes for packing, AND the extra boxes wouldnt have fit in the truck, anyway. They used every square inch of the space in the truck, and literally couldnt have fit one more thing in it. I actually had to ask the owner to reduce the total cost of my move for my inconvenience. I asked for $200 off, to which he agreed saying that he thought that was way too much. I was just hoping he would deal with me honestly moving forward. As for damages, the legs of my metal/glass desk were bent about 10 degrees under the frame, presumably from the weight of the items stacked on top of it or shifting, and the strain tore the metal seam in the left side legs. The owner told me to have the desk hauled to his office so he could assess the damage, to which I agreed, and he also wanted me to send the antique vanity, but I refused. I tried to call him several times over the course of the next several days to find out the status of the complaint, but he was always unavailable. I told his staff to have him contact me via email if he had any difficulty calling me by cell or at work. He finally called and left a voicemail. When I spoke to him, he said my desk was "fixed" and that he had bent the legs back into proper shape, to which I responded that bending them back wasnt fixing the desk, and I pointed out the integrity of the desk legs was decreased because of the torn metal joint. He offered to bring it over to my house and "jump up and down" on it to prove it was fixed--I declined. I also declined his offer to have his recommended antique person fix my vanity. He has told me he will pay for repairs of the vanity and to have the bill sent to his office--well see how that works out. The bottom line is that this member of the Two Men and a Truck franchise is not quality or customer service oriented, and I have been more dissatisfied with this move than any other.

If I could rate zero stars I would. The management at this company is awful. Every step of our move was poorly implemented. 1. A week before our move they decided they needed to revise the initial estimate - by over a thousand dollars - due to errors by the original estimator. This gave us no time to requote or find a different mover who was more competitive. 2. The day of the move, the movers didnt start until nearly 11:00 AM and didnt finish until after 10:30 PM. 3. Even with a second estimate, they underestimated our move. Sent two trucks, which were both overweight. Rather than add an additional truck (and cost to themselves) they drove halfway across the country on back roads to avoid the weigh stations. This resulted in the crew arriving a day late, costing us a day of vacation. 4. Day of unloading, they showed up at a reasonable hour in the morning. Original loading there were four people. Company tried to save money by sending only three people to unload over 26,000 lbs. Result was significant damage to our furniture and the movers were at our house unloading for nearly 18 hours. They did not leave until after midnight. 5. Actual unloading was a comedy of errors. People, boxes and trailers literally falling uncontrolled out of the trucks. People were injured, furniture was damaged and destroyed. One worker told me he couldnt have his injuries treated because he had no health insurance and the company would fire him if he filed for workers compensation. Unbelievable. 6. When trying to resolve our furniture damage, I withheld about 1/3 of the payment to the company because at this point I had no trust. Company blustered and threatened, but finally filed the insurance claim. The furniture was not repaired until five weeks later, and I still have not received payment for the irreparably damaged items. I was also forced to take nearly an entire day off of work to supervise furniture repair. Only pros: - The actual crew was super nice. They were nice people trying to make a living working for horrible managers. The management of this company franchise location in Cedar Rapids is unbelievable, and I hope their poor judgement puts them out of business quickly and efficiently. This move was a nightmare. Anecdotally, I used Two Men and a Truck in Minneapolis eight years ago and was very impressed and pleased with that franchise, which is a major reason why I chose Two Men and a Truck in Cedar Rapids. What a mistake.

We moved from Burlington to Cedar Rapids with another moving company. They were not very friendly to say the least. We chose Two Men and a Truck to move from our apartment to our new home in Marion. That was a great decision to make. They were prompt and on-time. They did the initial walk-thru, and then they got to work. We had Brandon and Charles as the crew. They were excellent. They worked well together and got our whole apartment and garage loaded up in no time. They took great care of our furniture and other things. We even have a old TV stand that I didnt think would make the trip. They wrapped it up with shrink wrap and walked it to the truck. I thought they would use a hand cart, but they carried out the majority of the furniture by hand. They even muscled out our queen size sleeper sofa out to the truck. They seemed eager to get things done and to please my wife and I as to where the stuff went and they made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it before they left. Brandon and Charles were excellent and the next time we move (which I hope is a long time away) or if I know someone else who is moving, I will highly recommend Two Men and a Truck. They were excellent.

I used this company to move my items to a storage unit. About 7 pieces of my furniture either got scratched or gouged during the move. My items were beautiful and pristine and now they look beat up. I have moved these items before and never had damage from other companies. I called and spoke to Darius at the Cedar Rapids location at least 5 times to get repair on the worst of the damage. He was very nice but never followed through on his promises. I suppose he thought I would just give up on my complaints and I have as they were not going to repair the items like he kept promising me. I never received calls back. I had to keep calling and I got "I will call you back"... that never happened. Also during the move to storage they placed at least 3 of my boxes upside down. One of the boxes had weed killer in it and it leaked all over the storage unit. I will not recommend this company and I have told everyone I know in Cedar Rapids about my poor experience. I work at a large hospital there and anytime moving comes up in conversation I tell people to hire anyone else but twomenandatruck.
