The purpose of my visit was to great new tires. I did some research on tires and found that pep boys had a better deal then most of the competitors which got my attention. So I went ahead and ordered the tires. I was told that they would come in three business days and that they would call me as soon as shipment arrived. The day of the arrival, no call. I followed up with a phone call and sure enough they were already there and they neglected to notify me. I made an appointment for install. Note: this is my first time changing out these tires since I bought the car brand new. Got the tires changed which took three hours and drove the car home at 9pm. With enough light in the garage. I went to check on the rim and noticed 3 quarter inch chips around my center cap as if someone stuck a flat head screw driver and tried to pop off the center cap. Then I noticed scratches along the edge of the rim. Then I went to check on the other rim and sure enough, the same damage was made. These are rims that I kept in great condition and now theyre ruined. I went back the next day to report it and all I got back was that the damage was probably caused to me curbing the rim(which doesnt look nothing like curb damage) and that the chip couldnt have been caused by anything that they wouldve have done. But note, no one has ever taken off those center caps until that day. They offered nothing to help because they said the damage couldnt have been cause by them so they asked me what I wanted to do. Well I really dont want to deal with them anymore and I really dont want to waste anymore time. After a couple of minutes going back and forth about the possible causes. They offered me touch up paint for free in which I took just to get it over with. Now Im stuck with damaged rims covered in touch up paint. I made the mistake by going for a better deal on tires. I think if I spent a little bit more at a competitor store I sure I might have been happier.

I called in to Pep Boys after I found out I had a screw stuck in my tire. It was after work and no other shop that I could find was open (6pm). I called them up and asked about getting a plug in the tire. They said they didnt have any appointment slots but if I brought it to them they should be able to get to it by the end of the night (9:00pm). When I brought it over, the service manager, Daniel, was very hesitant to accept my car and asked who I spoke with. After maybe scolding this person for accepting my plea for help on the phone, Daniel said hed help me out and took my keys. I went back at 8:45pm assuming the tire had been fixed. I found the person who worked on the tire (Cort) and he said all fixed, and he also did a full courtesy inspection of the car. Above and beyond. What I want to emphasize is that without the person who spoke with me on the phone (and created the opportunity for Pep Boys to go above and beyond by accepting my car without an appointment), I never would have come down to get my tire fixed. And this review would not exist. Good service within the confines of normal business operations is expected. Going above and beyond for a customer in need that maybe doesnt fit into the operating manual is GREAT service. Thank you Daniel, Cort, and whoever I spoke with on the phone, you guys really hooked me up and I thank you for it.

I had a small leak in one tire and I was near this Pep Boys so I asked them if they could repair it. They said no problem it will cost $20.00 . 2 hours later they call me and say they cant repair it because the tire is so worn they cant do the repair. They said I need new tires and new struts because that what made the tires go bad. Little did they know that I had the struts changed 3 months ago and the tires about 6 months ago. I told them to put the tire back on and I would take care of it somewhere else. I went down the street to Pacific Auto and asked them to take a look at the tire. In 10 minutes he pulled the nail out of the tire repaired it and put it back on. I asked him to tell me if there is anything wrong with the tire or struts. He said everything looks great. It cost me $10 for the repair and the quick look. I dont write reviews very often but when I find someone trying to scam me I get upset enough to take the time. I would not recommend this Pep Boys for any repair or tire replacement.

Inconsistent quote among different reps. You try calling customer service to get anything answered by phone....I would say DMV Customer service is faster! If you take your car over the weekend, you get an advice that they are backed up. That seemed fair and when you go to them over the week days, the delivery wait time is always 3-5 hours. Again, this is understandable if you have a major service that requires to be performed. Who would wait 3-5 hours on a weekday for an oil change? Their marketing has been stepped up but service level and response times are not beefed up in line with their marketing effort. Pep Boys hasnt gotten their acts together. Overall...they suck. I would take my business elsewhere.

Caution! I am new in the area and needed a coolant leak fixed. I dropped off my car, got a verbal quote via phone. I approved the work. When I picked up the car, I asked to see my old parts and see the "under the hood" work. The service guy grapped a lot of attitude, could not show me the old parts or the new parts. I got under the hood, showed him the work and questioned the labor charges. I got more attitude. Do not take your car here with out a very clear understanding of the quote, etc. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!! Please read the reviews below, too....BEWARE OF THESE GUYS!!!!!

Had my radiator replaced 2 years ago and there is already rust buildup on 1/3 of the lower part of the radiator. The receipt states limited life time warranty and when I called, the manger told me that there is a 90 day warranty on that part. 90 days on a radiator is useless so why give a warranty at all. I would be EXTREMELY cautious letting Pep Boys do any work on my car and would much rather go to a shop that stands behind their work. If you want quality work done on your car, find a reputable mechanic and save yourself some headaches. Stay away from these clowns.

Have bought tires and had minor repairs here with no problem. Price is good/fair and service has been done while I wait. Not fast, but thorough service. Have used Pep Boys for years without a problem. Had a bad tire once driving through Rochester NY in the winter, and they refused payment after inspecting it and the mechanic would not take a tip (Note years ago). Also had electrical work done well on a trip to LA during a break down. Note I do fix my own cars when I have time or space to work. If you go, say hi to Chris. Steve
