Celebrating my birthday was such a great decision at fridas so lets summarize all aspects of my review: 1)waiting time is perfect because was cinco de mayo and our party was for 8 including children we just wait 45min wich is good. 2)servers in general was outstanding i never move my neck half a degree and one of them was there to ask if we need a refill, anything else simply out of the scale well done. 3)food quality/ variety/ menu/ drinks: menu is simple for adults and kids as like mex-american with a twist of south american flavors like the ceviche we ordered apperizers like melted cheese with chorizo and corn hand made tortillas was mouthwatering!!!. Plus hand and custom made guacamole...i been in so many mexican restaurants and this detail was so nice to see somebody made our own guacamole ((see pic)). Kids menu was tasty, simple and affordable $6.00 We ordered a big cadillac margarita for the ladies and they love it for food we ordered a huge shrimp lemon plate, the signature frida ceviche was just out of your wet dreams!! Tasty and finally for the birthday guy the bring a cheesecake and a huge double shot of patron reserve tequila plus a michelada shot. EXTRAS: there was a guy taking pictures and he was very corteus and he sold to us some proffesional pictures with custom frida frames and was just a nice detail (2x $20). Clean bathrooms, nice bar, good sound and patio was outstanding DEFINETLY IM COMMING BACK!!!

So Im in town for work, staying across the street. I find the only open seat at the bar, sit down. Couple minutes till the bartender acknowledges that I exist, thats fine theyre busy I get it. I ask for a classic margarita. Worst margarita Ive ever had, and Ive had some bad ones. Tasted like a glass of watered down cheap tequila with no lime flavor whatsoever. Guy never hands me a menu, never comes back, never asks me any questions or if I want anything else. After about 10 minutes the guy bussing the bar sees me and brings me some chips and salsa. I decide F this place, Im not spending any money here, polish off the chips and pay for my margarita and Im out. It took 15 minutes from the time I told him I wanted my check to when I got it, I had to flag down one of the other bartenders to get it. I cant believe that this place is still in business in such an expensive neighborhood. Maybe they only treat young people this way? Even though I have money and I was ready to spend it? And tip well? I dont get it. Based on the reviews here and on yelp, this awful service at Frida is a clear pattern. My experience wasnt a one off because some bartender was having a bad day, its likely what youll get too.

A friend said Frida was a great place to try out so four of us went to dinner. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the loud music on the speakers, especially in the bar area. We asked to be seated somewhere quieter. No such luck they even have the speakers blaring in the outside seating area. We found the quietest corner to sit in. The waiter promptly brought us a basket of chips and red and green salsas. The chips werent crisp, but chewy. Both salsas had little taste. At least the service was fast and friendly. I had a caesar salad that was very average. I also had pozole but was very disappointed that it had almost no hominy or meat. It was more like broth. Likewise my guests thought their dinners were average at best. Our Patron margaritas were good if somewhat pricey at $15 each (just average size, not doubles). They had a live Mariachi band. The music was good, but I dont like how they travel from table to table and stand 5 feet away and blare on the trumpets. We left before they got to our table. Summary: Atmosphere: good but noisy, Prices: moderately high, Food: average at best, Service: very good.

I was there for on the tenth of may and ,this is not an upscale mexican that to me is very offensive .I paid 312 $ and that will be the first and last time I go.the molcajete is aprox 30 dollars ,doesnt even get you a whole piece of meat or chicken two strips to be exact ,make sure you ask for cilantro on the side because that is all you get.the pozole tastes days old .dont try the traditional Michelada or especial Michelada. They dont use lemon the use the artificial lemon and dont even carry clamato.key thing in micheladas the aaranchera plate for 30 dollars is soo not worth it a bunch of rice and a very small piece of meat ...on the plus side the mole is good .but make sure you check your bill .my waiter charged me twice and since we had a big party she didnt even bother to check up on drinks I had to request my own beer at the bar .bad service and the food is very questionable .if you order sprite taste it because it has a sink water taste

I have been here on several ocassions to celebrate birthdays or simply have brunch with the whole family, we mainly come for the mariachi. The quality of food is OK, i have only had the buffet here and most things are bland and very few have any actual flavor of Mexican cuisine. What I really did not like was that this Sunday we celebrated a birthday, everyone had the buffet and the total was $370 but then the waiter added a $56 Tip into the bill which does not make any sense considering this wasnt a full-service occasion. The only thing they served was water and coffee we served ourselves from the buffet. Anyways its a nice place to go if you like mariachi and dont care too much about quality.

The food is mediocre at best and the prices are completely unjustified. We were working late, so a colleague ordered dinner from this place. I had the mole poblano. The mole sauce was bland and the chicken was so overcooked it felt like I had a mouth full of sand. Do yourself a favor and look at the reviews closely. You will notice a pattern - the people who gave good reviews were also drinking. If they enjoyed the food, I am assuming they were drinking quite heavily. I gave 2 stars since they got my order right and I was able to choke down some of the food. Would never return, not even for a free meal.

Dont usually leave reviews but today its justified. Would leave a zero but not available. Came for brunch didnt see anyone waiting. The young lady in the front said it was a 40 minute wait inside, unless I wanted to sit outside but that the tables where sunny. We where a party of 4 and their was a table for 6 witch she insisted we couldnt take the table since we where only 4 yet no one was waiting to be seated. I kindly told her you would rather me go eat somewhere else thats to give me the table and she just ignored me and noded her head. I will not be returning hear in the near future.

I love Mexican food, and I definitely have nothing against "upscale" Mexican, which can be amazing. However, this place is really just half-assed, in my opinion. The food is just basically average. There is absolutely nothing at all special about the food, which would be perfectly at home in a much less expensive place, like Acapulco or a place like that. Id give it only one or two stars, except that the service is pretty good, the ambience is reasonably good, and they do have pretty good drinks. None of that will be enough to bring me back.
