UPDATE: For a while it was cleaner, but now there are moldy shower curtains and the locker room smells like an old sneaker. Also, ONCE AGAIN they chose to have their male fixit guy repair the shower at 7am, when people need to shower and get to work. I understand that things need to be fixed in the womens locker room and you might not always be able to get a female plumber, but cant you do it at at time when things are a bit slower and fewer people need to shower? It is another example of how much they care about their customers. Shame on LA Fitness for letting any club deteriorate so much its in this condition. I would like to like this place, but I cant, because it has been steadily going downhill for some time now, and the problem is that since the place is so packed with Ballys people, it wont ever get turned around. Whats good: The patrons are nice What is lacking: Many machines make funny noises because they are old and not maintained The whole place is filthy and needs a paint job Carpet is worn and has ripples its so old The pool is sometimes not heated Several soap dispensers in the showers have fallen off walls exposing rusty screws They had a problem with black flies in the showers, but that seems resolved but is replaced by a cricket problem They have security issues (car break ins, locker break ins) Sometimes the music is SO LOUD that you have to crank up your earphones to hear your own ipod. I often find a big black hairball over the drain in the shower Generally, this place needs an infusion of cash. Now, I understand and expect this sort of situation from a place like 24 Fitness, because people are paying $300 for 2 years if they buy the membership from Costco. But LA Fitness charges significantly more. Ive only been in one LA Fitness that was more ghetto than this one and it was in Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks. That one was so gross they shut it down and built a new one. This one is going that direction.

I came in July 18 2017 at approximately 930 am there was a sun blonde hair lady and this Latina woman at the service lobby desk and I had a 3 day pass and they asked for an ID nowhere in the pass does it say but anyways I had a pic of my id on my phone and the asshole person was this guy standing in the back of the lobby desk Latino dude dark skin black hair wanna be comb back but he had no style said I couldnt come in even if I had a pic of my id. I didnt want to say I was a member already but wanted to see how they treat people in general very ghetto and not well mannered the only reason that place is still standing is because the staff in the afternoons/Evenings but I would recommend everyone to go to LA Fitness off of Garvey in West Covina if you want to be treated equal and get better service for your money. The restrooms are outside in a rented tent BS so gross and dirty and you have to walk around to get to them and the equipment was so old and outdated. Worst Service EVER Worst Place to workout.

I am soooo disappointed in this place, and the rudness of their staff! I have never had worse customer service. I only went to this gym because my husband wanted me to join him. It is usually filthy and you can never find equipment. The personal trainers are lazy as hell and not helpful. They have a personal training area, which I understand is for the personal trainers use, but my husband and I were not in the way and not bothering anyone, but the trainer kicked us out of the area. Apparently she needed the entire area to train her 80 yr old client whp was only sitting on a stool. I addressed the manager, mentioning that this was the 2nd time she had kicked us out. He was rude and not apologetic and said she had the right. I always thought he looked like a creeper, apparently he is an jerk too. I will be cancelling my memebership and returning to 24 hour, a real gym! #disappointed

Are you okay for $270 charge per month? Awful staffs and a lack of business minded area manager! Ive charged $485 at initial month by my cards over 4times, I canceled the membership because they keep charging to my card and ignored for 1week free trial. They refunded $215 and refused to refund $70 and changed their mind for free trial. Do you want to try for $270 per month? One more thing! They charged to my debit card after I asked them not to charge to my credit card and cancel my membership my debit account balance had less then their charge, bank charged me $35 bounce fee as well!!!

This L.A Fitness is awesome because it has a pool, sauna, and racquet ball court. I was really happy that it was so close but also that their equipment is so new. Besides this I gave them a star down because the people in the gym are a bit talkative and try to get you to have a personal trainer. Other than that though this location is VERY busy and there are many people. I also dislike the fact that it seems every pool at L.A. Fitness can be looked into so that other people working out can see you swimming as they pass by.

Went as guest to check this place out...and yuck! Staff was not friendly,over crowed..dirty ,old equipment. Its hard enough to get motivated to work out, this place was GROSS! I couldnt wait to leave. Big difference from 24hr fitness! It helpedmake my decision on choosing a gym. Bye,bye LA Fitness & your bad service! Hello 24 hr fitness. Two thumbs down for this place!!! Consumer you have been warned!!! Wish I could give it a negative star -- one star is too much

I just moved here so I joined the gym a few months ago. Its alright, they offer everything from pool, basketball, racquet ball, bags (but you cant kick them), classes, variety of cardio machines, etc. The only cons was that its pretty expensive compared to the other gyms I was looking at and its VERY packed from 4p - 8p week days, mornings on sat & sun. Ive been going to plenty of different gyms for the past 6 years, this gym is awesome, just busy.

I used to come here 10+ years ago, I recently came back to the area. Kid you not, has to be the SAME equipment and carpet thats been there since. Ive been to old LA Fits before, but this one is the roughest. No one racks their weights, staff doesnt go around racking the weights or cleaning. Its always hot in there, impossible to find matching dumbbells, etc. Get an upgrade and clean up the place guys!

What can I say? This LA Fitness is brand spanking new. The crowds are low. I go normally on Sunday nights where theres hardly anybody there. The machines are new with TVs on them. The only thing I felt strange was the pool is right in front and people can peek in to view swimmers. Other than that, its a great place to get in shape.

Honestly I got an interview to work here as a Janitor and the guy "training" me was listening to music with headphones on. Like seriously if you want me to take this as seriously has the person interviewing me is presenting. You should give me your attention 100% cause its only an hour of your time.
