Update: I dont work here, so dont tell me what to do (unless its cleaning up after myself and reracking my weights). Also, I know its "weird" to see people do kipping pull-ups, but keep your thoughts and judgments to yourself staff. Disappointed with the service as of late and extremely sad some of the "cool" people that used to work here are gone. Oh well, thats the gym for ya. Update: The new gym is great. Its just unbearably packed after 5PM. So come in at 5AM like me if you want to get in a decent workout without having to wait for a piece of equipment. This gym just got better. Pool, more equipment, locker room, etc. So much to talk about. I love this place. Original Review: This gym is a lot nicer than the other LA Fitness on El Segundo. Im glad they are open and cant wait for them to finish up with the renovations. Gym wasnt packed at all (but who works out on a Friday night?). The front desk gal was very friendly. The cleaning crew was busy wiping down the machines. They have their own parking structure that is always recording. Seems like the PERFECT gym. So why is there a 4 star rating and not a 5!? Well, the gym doesnt have enough of the important pieces of equipment. I know after the renovations, theyll have more room to put additional equipment in there, but till then, this will have to be a 4 star gym. Edit: After going to this gym everyday for a little over a week, Ive found that this gym never really gets busy (even during peak hours).

LA fitness as a company is no that bad. I traded 24/hr for a cleaner club but their have been some down falls at this location. First I understand machines break down but I feel like your maintenance team needs a little more help. Jumped on 3 treadmills today all of which did not work. more stair machines are needed. Two are always broken and 7 is not enough. Im not sure whats going on with the sauna but its been in and out of construction for months now. Lastly, and this is why Im giving u guys 3 instead of 4 stars, i understand that you save the personal training area for just that. But if no one is in the club... and Im talking no one, And I see an opportunity to finish my workout on the ropes you guys have in that area, dont hassle me about it. Im in there for 30sec and Im out . The cleaning lady told me trainers only!, Im thinking to myself no on sauna, no on treadmill, no on ropes. The no no club . I talked to one of the staff members about it and he told me, ya those people pay an extra 20 grand a year for that area. Me-- daaaang ok , well I dont want to pay 20 grand to use a rope for 30 seconds so I guess Ill just bring my own. Rules!! I get it. But a little flexibility goes a long way when your club is not up to par to begin with. Love them heavy bags tho so 3 stars it is .

This gym has been remodeled. Its much newer and better than the gym they closed down in Manhattan Beach. Overall its nicely clean in all the areas (locker rooms, restrooms, pool, Group Ex, cardio/weight machines). The cardio equipment is new and most of them have their own personal Flat TV screen and iPod charger/port. They have a lot of resistance machines (cable), Lifefitness machines (plate loaded), dumbells up to 100lbs or so...dont think they have any up to 150lbs. I think they have two squat racks and two or more smith machines. They have a lap pool, a big Group Ex room, non regulation full size bball court, and a lot of floor space for calisthenics, stretching and your floor exercises. I only saw two water fountains areas, a pair near the restrooms near the workout floor and a pair in the locker rooms. Im sure there are more but havent been in the Group Ex room or BBall court. That reminds me, they have 4 or 5 heavy bags hanging near the wall in the Group Ex room. Not sure if they have a sauna and/or steam room. I never go in there.

K so Im a kids club kiddo and the thing that pisses me off is the fact that the staff in kids club dont pay attention to literally anything. I heard this kid call another one "skinny" and "fat" and I was standing on something, and they think that Im not mature enough to know the fact that I can fall off a little toy thing thats only like 2 feet off the ground. Next, get more things its so damn boring for older kids, and then get more benches and organize it more because the organization gives me severe ocd. Another thing is that it would be better to get a water machine instead of a bottle. And then theres another thing that pisses me off is the fact that they dont organize any activities which makes it more annoying. There is no where to actually sit and rest, unless you want the kiddy table and the floor. So yeah I have much more complaints but I feel like Im being too harsh. Well no I can be much more harsh for a 113 year old kiddo :)

What kind of gym runs out of detergent? So I do my workout and go to the stalls to take a shower, and wow no detergent in all 6 stalls in mens, this is the 4th time this happens, so I leave the gym all sweaty. So I tell the lady in the front their is no detergent and she claims that the gym has ran out of detergent, and we should restock soon, detergent is not merchandise in a store, it is an absolute requirement in a gym, in all my 7 years being a member at 24hr fitness i never encountered a lack of stock in detergents, unfortunately because of location I had to switch to la fitness and I have been unhappy eversince. Also, what is up with the machines, always a few major ones are out of order for a week. In addition, their is no curtains in the mens stalls, like really are you guys that cheap??? Please do yourself a favor and switch to another gym other than la fitness.

New and well maintained equipment (treadmill/machines/stair masters/ellipticals). Workout areas are clean. Locker rooms, so far, are clean. Not much involvement with the staff besides a simple greeting and I am really there to workout and sweat. So I cannot really chime in to the other reviews who have bad customer service. Though be honest with yourself its a gym not a day spa at the country club/resort. Or else you would be an Equinox member. Now thats day spa. Or would you prefer to be at Golds Gym? Good Luck canceling your membership there and telling them to stop auto-billing your bank account. Too many horror stories there. Gym members are courteous but weekday evenings workouts are pain with so much traffic. Good luck completing your workout routine since youll rest longer and wait than actually do some lifting. I recommend early mornings.

So I spoke with Hector the manager over the phone, he told me theyre having a 4th of July special and your initiations fee would be $49 and I would get to use any LA Fitness gym....WELL I get down there and he TOTALLY LIED to me, 1. Theres no 4th of July special 2. They dont have military discount 3. You cant use any LA Fitness gym 4. $49 is only to use that particular gym, no other, even though he lied and said I would be able to because of the holiday special. HOW DO I KNOW THIS? Because I was at the gym 2 weeks prior on a 3 day work out pass and had asked all the necessary questions, the $49 was already the price for using that particular facility back two weeks ago. I understand youre trying to make a sale, but why bait and switch, thats ILLEGAL. Poor customer service
