I would give 0 stars if possible. LA Fitness is not what I would classify as professional or business friendly. I initially signed up for a month to month single membership. As part of their package, I receive a free personal training assessment. I did and decided it would be beneficial to a healthier me. I sat down to discuss, they wanted to do 12 months at $300/m. The price was high and I only wanted 6 months. The manager told me to let him contact his supervisor. He calls, and the supervisor is put on speakerphone. The guy tells me that he can work some "magic" on his end. I agree and pay my first month $200/m, plus a $99 initiation. I set my appointment for the next week. I show and no one is aware of my appointment. The staff offers to reschedule. I reschedule for the following week. I show up and wait for 25 minutes for my trainer to be tracked down. We go through the workout and schedule for the next week. I show up and I wait for about 15 minutes for my trainer to show up. We workout. I schedule for the following week. I show up, the trainer is a no show. I reschedule for the next week. I show up, the trainer is a no show, but there is another trainer that substitutes. He schedules me for the next week with my assigned trainer. I show up and the trainer is a no show. I am then told by the store manager that the Regional VP will be calling me to resolve the issue, as they are unable to facilitate my needs. I waited 2 weeks. Nothing.. I call this location and request to speak with the manager. I am informed again that the Regional VP would be in contact with me within the next day. I waited 3 days and called back. I was then given the cell number of the said Regional VP and his name. His name was Dan. I reach out to Dan several times, leaving messages each time. This goes on for 2 weeks. I hear nothing. I contact the corporate number to speak with someone above Dan. I am informed that someone would be reaching out to me within the next day. Dan appears with a phone call at this point, on the basis of my call to corporate. To be honest Dan had proven his incompetence at this point and I had no desire to speak with him. Though, I proceeded to hear what Dan had to say. He informs me that they would offer me a 50% buyout on the remainder of my contract. I declined. As at this point I have continuously paid $200/m, as I await for a responsible party. I explained that they had already void their own contract. They had also not responded within a legal timely manner. I asked that they cease billing immediately, and informed him that I would continue my membership if they were proper. By this point things had been soured of personal training through them. My goal for personal training was structure and accountability, someone to drive and push me. That was something they were unable to provide, and the store manager admitted. Dan informed me, that they would not cease billing. I requested to speak with his superior. He informed me that they would reach out to me. It has now been months. No contact. I called corporate today, and was told again that someone would be in touch. At this point I will be seeking restitution, making report on the brand, including the BBB. I should have read the BBB reports prior to choosing LA Fitness. They have many bad reviews, with several that relate.

Palos Verdes location: zip 90275 ((the one start make it a 1/2 of the star)) Just moved from Orange County my closest location now is Palos Verdes- I love taking indoor cycling class- been doing it for years. I had a very sad incident with one of the instructors her Name is Mariam F. she does Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:45pm at this particular location, 1) Very unprofessional she has never introduced her self I guess she assumes that everyone knows who she is, god forbid if you are new and you have no clue on how to use the equipment. 2) She advised me once to adjust my settings around hers again assuming were the same size- the first time it cost me a pulled muscle in my back, I work in the medical field and ultimately I know you have to listen-to your body and whats telling you. Having say that, last night after allowing 5 extra minutes in the morning before heading out to work to pack my gym bag and driving 1 1/2 hrs from work to the gym I made it only to get humiliated by her insisting to change my seat setting.... asking other classmates to fix"" my seat the whole thing end up in a bulling and embarrassment as they guy that she sent to help dropped my water- that lead me to walk out ... I went to the manger David who he didt even know who Mariam was or who teaches the class on monday nights. Useless I told him what she had done.... he appeared to be in limbo still trying to figure out who does the class ... his final response was I will generally" talk to her.... Sadly for me will not ever return to that class which it will cost me a 9 mile drive farther to attend cycling in another location... Most of us work and that is the last thing we need or want. P.S. trainers remember you have a job at the facilities because us customers- being professional and courteous is FREE

Ive handled several issues with corporate & believe me...when youve been with the company for 4 years you have seen & heard all the unsavory operations of the business. Honestly, Dept of Social Services needs to step in & get involved...trust me when I say, your kids are not being watched in the Kids Klub by any professionals or ones that pretend to want to be professional..be aware....you may find your child wandering out of the kids klub. The Health Dept needs to be called, the pool you swim in...never cleaned. Instructors....most are a joke....its as if their all about the money. And now their actively in a discrimination lawsuit. Theyre NO CAMERAS in or outside of the gyms...this is why people NATIONWIDE are going from gym to gym to rob people of their belongings in the gym & outside of the gym at their cars. And the give these members a FAKE corporate number. PEOPLE....the number you call to complain to are MSMs (which are actually the gym operations managers) in the local clubs trained to intercede all calls before letters or calls make it to the actual owners. You ever want to know behind the door illegal operations...talk to former employees...typically they are NEVER disgruntled employees making up lies...its NEVER that, they are actual employees that got screwed over, with their commissions being stolen & not paid out to them & they are finally revealing the true secrets of the real business.

LA Fitness located at 2140 Carson Street, Long Beach, CA 90807 We have been members since March 2016. It was a positive experience when we signed up at the Torrance location, but the Long Beach location has been an ongoing horrible experience. Today was a perfect example of the lack of professionalism we encounter at this facility since weve joined. My family and I were working out when my son complained about the scrape on his hand in the racquetball court. I immediately noticed drywall tape has been missing for over a month now. I left the court, spoke with the receptionist and asked for the manager. She paged Jared. Jared walked over with a potential new client. I shook his hand, introduced myself and asked when will the drywall tape be installed? Jared said he did not know. He just had an inspection (I will be following up with the City of Long Beach on 07/11/16). I told him my son just scraped his hand on the wall. Jared immediately became angry and said, "Really? In front of a new client? When Im done I will help you!" The new client showed a concerned facial expression when Jared walked away. Jared DID NOT offer first aid assistance to my son. I responded, "Yes, in front of a new client." Our family is in need of fitness and something near our home; our options are limited. I will also be calling corporate. Looking on FB where to post my experience.
